From the very first contact, ConnectPay stood out. The proposal process was impressually flexible and they were genuinely supportive throughout — every single requirement we raised was addressed, and addressed fast. That kind of responsiveness is rare in the payments space.
We ultimately went with a different provider because our current needs pointed us in a slightly different direction, but that decision had nothing to do with ConnectPay's quality. Quite the opposite — if our requirements change down the road, ConnectPay will be our first call. Reliable, attentive, and a pleasure to work with.

This platform is really terrible. After I applied, they asked me to provide a large amount of information, including invoices and documents from suppliers and customers, as well as bank statements. After I submitted everything, they kept asking many more questions and eventually still rejected my application. It’s extremely frustrating.

I recently attempted to open a personal account with ConnectPay, but unfortunately faced a very frustrating user experience that I would not recommend. The issues began immediately, as there was a bug in their identification process that took over a week of back-and-forth with their team to resolve. I should have been able to easily upload a selfie for verification, but instead lost days troubleshooting just to get a working link.
Once that was finally addressed, my problems continued. I clearly explained on a call that I simply needed an account to transfer dividends from my Hong Kong company to Europe, where I hold new citizenship, to support my search for property later this year. Despite forwarding the my company's documentation, P&L statement, and HK companies office URL for extra verification, I received yet another request for even more records because dividends haven't been paid out yet.
At this point, after nearly two weeks of supplying ample confirmation of my identity and business, I emailed ConnectPay that enough was enough. I have wasted too much time on their cumbersome process. Their lack of reply or account creation after such an ordeal means I absolutely would not recommend engaging their services to anyone else seeking the ease of an international money transfer. For a fintech firm, the friction and flaws I experienced were unacceptable.

Terrible company.
I called them in advance to ask them about my application, they told me to get a notarized power of attorney from my director, i went through great expense and effort to get it, gave it to them, and 30 minutes later they sent me a generic email saying that they reject my application and they refuse to say why.
For context:
I have a very simple, low risk business, it's a simple webshop based in the EU, with all the directors and owners being European as well.
There is absolutely no reason to reject the application.

EXORBITANT fees!
This used to be a legit banking service, but now in 2022 already feels like an outright scam.
Details are as follows:
1. We were invited to join by their representatives during ICE London 2019. Bank was advertised as casino/gaming friendly
2. From 2019 till end of 2021 Account service charge was 250.00 EUR / month + normal fees for every SEPA transaction. Everything was OK and fine.
3. Starting from end of 2021 we started getting problems with both incoming and outgoing transactions. It took us several months to realize that the bank policy has changed and they are no longer able to service our B2C business, which was 95% of our transaction volume.
4. We still decided to stick with them and use them for regulated B2B transactions as the monthly fee was still so so acceptable.
5. Sometime mid-2022 they pushed new and very vague fee structures, that included monthly commitment fees that were not well informed and explained to customers.
6. We started noticing money disappearing from our account and discovered that the Minimal Monthly Commitment fees were in the range of 700-800 EUR/monthly and initially were not showing in the transaction statements, i.e. the bank only charged them after you top up your account and listed them as "debt cover" transaction. An invisible debt that you have no idea how much it is before you deposit to your account.
7. We had over 4,000 EUR "stolen" this way for 5-6 months period where we had just 5-6 transactions overall, i.e. fee per transaction was over 500 EUR and of course it was not acceptable for us at all.
8. When we tried to resolve the situation with ConnectPay they told us that we don't understand and the new fees are better for us: "We understand that the monthly fee might seem increased, but please bear in mind that the new method of calculating fees is made in a way where you do not need to pay account maintenance fee + fees for each payment."
Of course this was not true and the way the situation was handled from Connectpay side was very hostile and no cooperation at all. For them seemed completely normal to raise the fees x5 while limiting our scope of business.
Certainly don't recommend and there are plenty of other SEPA banking options that you can still get better service for 200-250 EUR / monthly.

Scam! Scam! Scam! Positive reviews - from the scammers.
SCAM alert.
They let you set up the entire application procedure. A million questions. The last page they ask you simply to transfer 1500,- EUROS! without guarantee a account opening simply for the compliance check.
What a joke! Which banks charges 1500,- euro for looking at your documents and they mention any extra work will be extra charged on top as well.
This leaves them with all the cards in the hand and obviously if you are naive enough to pay the 1500,- euro you can bet they will charge you extra or even deny an account opening.
This is 100% a scam.

Everything started very cute, but after submitting the application I received an email from them with extra questions and docs, I provided them with everything.
I waited for a week and asked about my application and they answered me that they consider applications for 20-40 days and offered me to speed up the consideration for an extra fee of 1,500 eur.
I laughed and didn't answer, and seeing that I didn't react they simply canceled my application in a week.
