Purchased Columbia zipper leg camping pants about 9 months ago from my usual go to outdoor shop (great place). Now - 9 months later - the stitching on both back side pockets have come undone. Store where I purchased said they can’t help. Summary - poor quality. I won’t waste any more money on anything with the Columbia name on it.

Ordered some items , took a week to arrive, always wear a size 34 tries Waste these are at least 2 inches small, trainers to small as well, tried to return put your order number in and email address and it constantly comes up with does not match to order, none of the customer service phone Line work, then I noticed that you have to print your own label who would use a Service where you can’t get the label printed at the point of return. These are terrible never buy from this company again.

Terrible customer service.
Misleading information on the website. It states delivery in 4-5 working days but doesn't state that it takes a further 4-5 days for them to process the order.
When contacted, they are dismissive.
I raised a complaint and this was ignored and then just closed down.

Worst customer service ever

Truly horrible returns. Dropped off well over a month ago and tracking shows delivered. Reached out 3 times, they say it was lost by UPS so fill out some form swearing i really did return the items. Then promised refund within a few days, 2 weeks later still nothing. Chased again they will 'expedite'. Still nothing another week on and stopped replying. I paid via Klarna who are now chasing no end. Super annoying and frustrating.

I bought a pair of trousers from them recently and a week later both hems on both legs had frayed and become undone. I asked for a refund but even though they are listed as hiking trousers and many times express how they are suited for hiking, since I wore them hiking the warranty does not cover the product as it’s not its intended use. Very disappointed

Terrible overall experience. Unhelpful and slow customer support. HORRIBLE return process. Not a good business practice to make your customers stressed and angry, let's see how that ends up for you.

This has been a nightmare, and I haven’t even received my shoes yet. I would never have placed the order had I known they use UPS and that I’d need to stay home all day to sign for the parcel. The chatbots are dreadful, and there’s no way to speak to an actual person anymore.

Received order a little late which seems to be the overwhelming trend. However after six months of use the main complaint is that the products are starting to deteriorate. The zip on the coat constantly fails and comes open if I bend over. The boots material is fraying and certainly is no longer water resistant. Overall very dissatisfied that over £200 on a few items and neither has lasted more than a few months of use.

I recommend you buy your Columbia Sportswear from online suppliers within the UK rather than ordering direct from the company. Their warehouse seems to be based in France so there was a delay in dispatching the order and a very worrying long wait for a refund. The returns are via UPS to Coventry and then they are sent to France. You have to wait 15 working days (that does not include weekends) for a refund. This is an unacceptable amount of time which causes buyers significant worry and stress. The customer services only reply to emails. They do however reply and quite promptly if you include order numbers and address. The telephone number listed does not work. Its such a shame the company doesn't address this warehouse in France situation because the quality of the goods is of good standard. Overall my experience was bad so I will not be ordering again direct from Columbia.

Columbia do not follow UK law and do not provide returns within 14 days of receiving a returned item. Completely unacceptable for such a large brand.

I purchased a skiing jacket which unfortunately was too big. The quality was absolutely fine and the item arrived reasonably quick. It took about 4-5 days which isn't the best but postage was free.

However, due to the coat being too big I returned it and it was shown as received by them over a week ago on the tracking website but still no refund. After doing some digging I learnt that your return first goes to their UK warehouse in coventry and then at some point they ship it to their main site in France (they say within 10-15 days!) where it will then be inspected and a return processed. This is the most ludicrous returns system I've come across and is simply too long winded. I am now without the product or my money and for god knows how long.

I do not recommend purchasing/dealing with this company online. Their stock is decent quality but they are stuck in the dark ages in terms of processes.

Slow refund processing. You wait a week until returned to UK warehouse THEN over 2 weeks until returned to french warehouse . Why can't they inspect and refund at uk warehouse? Ridiculous. For that reason I won't order from them again

Don't buy from here if you may need to return something.

They received the return on 17.2 & I've heard nothing since. I tried customer service but didn't get anywhere really - from what I understood I now have to call back in a few days. There were communication difficulties with call centre.

Meanwhile I'm out of pocket & chasing around for my refund.

Not what you expect from a large company really buy I've learnt my lesson & I'll never buy from them directly again.

Absolutely non existent customer service. Ordered a pair of boots for my partner. Delivery was slow but probably did arrive within the estimated maximum working days period. Boots were too small so had to initiate a return. The process of creating a returns label through the courier service (UPS) was easy. Drop off for product via UPS was also seamless. Problems begin here. I tracked return back to the warehouse in Coventry but Columbia have not provided any update. They haven’t confirmed receipt of the return and I’m “guessing” they have it.
I ordered a replacement pair for partner but forgot to use my discount coupon so tried to cancel order. Rang customer service and was told there’s nothing they can do. I therefore have to wait for item to be delivered to return it immediately (and no doubt wait forever for a second refund!)
Finally ordered the correct pair for correct price with coupon and boots look great. It’s the effort to order them and deal with poor returns service and customer service that means I won’t order from this company again.

Awful customer service, do not buy from here! I paid £4.90 for standard delivery which said 3-4 working days to arrive for a present for someone. After a week it hadn’t even been dispatched yet, so clearly it wasn’t going to arrive within the stated timeframe when they hadn’t even bothered to send it yet. I asked to cancel the order, but Laurent from customer services said it couldn’t be cancelled and would be dispatched within the next few business days! Absolutely terrible service, and made worse by refusing to cancel despite the fact the order has not been processed or left the warehouse yet. I’ll be returning the item so they’re just wasting everyone’s time.

Awful customer service. Sent 2 items back via a ups pick up point 3 weeks ago. Still no refund or updates. Customer service UK phone number does not work. Email gets no response. Will be escalating with my bank now for charge back. Will never order from Columbia again

My wife brought me the Peakfreak II Mid Outdry Walking Boots in November and whilst they are very comfy they are now completely pointless for walking in the wet that they were purchased for as they are no longer waterproof at all !! I find it incredibly frustrating that this has “co-incidentally” happened shortly after the return date has expired.

Poor support, inflexible policies, and broken delivery management

Finding the correct support form is unnecessarily difficult, and once you do, it’s largely pointless - support staff are unable (or unwilling) to actually help.

Once an order is placed, Columbia refuse to change delivery addresses under any circumstances, even immediately after purchase.

I ordered several items and, due to Shopify autofill, the delivery address defaulted to an old one. That’s on me - but I contacted Columbia immediately after placing the order to cancel or amend it. They refused, stating they could not change the address or cancel the order until it had been handed over to the courier (UPS).

Once UPS had the parcel, I tried repeatedly (dozens of attempts) to redirect the delivery through UPS’ own system - only to discover that Columbia has disabled the setting that allows customers to change delivery details. This isn’t a UPS limitation; it’s Columbia's choice.

I reported this back to Columbia and requested a refund, as their inflexible policies, poor support, and mismanaged courier setup directly resulted in losing £200 worth of goods.

Overall: outdated systems, zero flexibility, and support that hides behind policy instead of helping customers.
