We can fix the unfixable not!!!
I recently purchased a Beko washing machine from Comet Clearance. Having failed to inform me that they were unable to deliver on the set day,no instruction leaflet provided and goods having a damaged plug I had been annoyed but had dismissed it. This was until few months after delivery the machine stopped working.I contacted the manufactuer as it was still under guarantee who sent out an engineer. Engineer visited explained that the the frame of washing machine was distorted, lid broken and foot missing. He also stated that it had been knocked which is why the knob was broken and had broken the electronic control board. He explained that due to the distortion he would have concerns that I would have problems in the future, but otherwise could fix so working. However as not covered under guarantee. I contacted Comet and thats where my problems began. The needed to send out their own engineer no probs I said here what you need to know in order to fix it as had been told by Beko engineer. They agreed to have someone come and fix it the following week. Engineer arrived what seems to be the problem? You know what the problem is haven't you got the parts to fix it ? No they told us nothing. He confirmed that if was distorted and that was unfixable and I would have problems in future, but Comet have ignored the problem and what to fix the rest of the faults rather that give me a refund as is my right according to the Sale of Goods Act 1979. Even though have informed them that Trading Standards have informed me that is my right. Comet it seems believe that the unfixable can be fixed if you ignore the customers rights and the customers complaints that the problem will go away. Well this is one lady who as Maggie would say ' is not for turning' !!!!
