Carex Anmeldelser 

My mom ordered a walker and couldn’t collapse it so wanted to return it only to learn that the return shipping and restocking added up to the cost of the walker. Very disappointing.

Ik heb ruim een jaar is carex gewoond. Had snel een huis via hun en toen dat gesloopt werd weer optijd een ander huis. Ben altijd respect vol en plezierig geholpen, deden echt hun best iets passens te vinden. En ja het zijn meestal oude huizen die gesloopt moeten worden dus verwacht geen huis met energie label A. Ik was al blij met een dak boven mijn hoofd.

Promising but never delivering

Als je een tijdelijke woonruimte zoekt ter overbrugging, dan is dit ideaal! Vriendelijk personeel, goed geholpen

First impression with intake talk was good.However they never followed through with any offer of a temporary rental home as is their business.
Of course they make it clear that they operate in a field of housing where renters do not have renter protection but that is fine. It is no rocket science. The houses and apartments are much cheaper and one can expect that they are in buildings that will eventually be demolished to be replaced by new construction. So one is sort of the last renter there. One's jobs is sort of to protect the investors who bought such buildings for eventiual demolition so no squatters take them over and delay new construction there. The whole concept allows there being more homes to be available in an otherwise due to regulations way too overheated Dutch housing market. So it is a trade off that with these homes one may have to leave them on short notice (usually within 14 days) and the expectation is that one has an alternative temporary address then one can move to. So plan ahead well as this is only a temporary anti-squatters offer..
We planned using it to get more breathing space to look for a permanent home this way.

If you are thinking about becoming a "tenant" with an organisation like Carex, think again & read the following:

Because of badly outlined laws in the Netherlands, organisations like Carex feel like they do not need to follow any normal duties & responsibilities. Tenants get exploited & abused to the maximum extent!
In the eyes of the law (Antikraak Wet) you are not treated but a lease-lender as a lease-lender you are not protected at all (Geen Huurrecht). Carex knows this and exploits their customers.

Maintenance: The do not feel responsible for any maintenance of the building. In my case this resulted in a collapsed roof (would have ended deadly if we were there) widespread mould through out the building, asbestos though the whole building. They shutdown central heating during winter period to save money for the owner (they do now own their buildings)

Privacy: Visiting/Checking on us without any notice in advance at several occasions, even if we confronted the organisation that this is against the constitution (Nederlandse Grontwet Article 10) they disregarded our concern. Forbidding all tenants to have visitors with pets.

Trying to charge money for periods outside of the contract. We already moved out and the contract was over (even after we confronted them, they did not payback)

If you are not fully dependend to fix a place to live fast, I highly recommend to rethink becoming a customer or a "tenant" with an organisation like this. Espetially because you are not saving money. Renting with substitution from the goverment is in most cases cheeper and you are better protected.

Our case is one of many: It is unbelievable that it is lawful to treat people/tenants like this. It is time something changes. We need more attention on how organisations like Carex treat their customers and their buildings.
