Very rude management!
Rude management! I surely won’t be doing any fundraising for Care UK.
Definitely visit Invicta Court Care Home
Choosing a care home is daunting but with Care Uk from my first contact with this organisation they took the pressure and made the experience of choosing care for my father enjoyable. Care Uk and in particular Invicta Court care home provided a warm welcome, support for not just the resident but their families to. The home its self is well designed and the decor is magnificent. All the staff are so caring and work well as a team. Nothing is too much trouble and the health and welfare for my father and all the residents is amazing. This organisation have care, dignity and respect at the front of all they do and is definitely the way forward for others to aspire to with regard to care homes going forward. Do not miss the opportunity to speak to Care Uk in the first instance and definitely visit the home you will be amazed and definitely not disappointed.
My mum is a resident
My mum is a resident at Smyth Lodge in Sidcup, she is treated with kindness and respect. The home is always clean. The food is lovely, mum enjoys a full cooked breakfast everyday, a treat that she's not had for a long time. Mum has a soft spot for a carer called Jenny, who always goes above and beyond to make mum feel safe, happy and respected. Rebecca is the customer relations manager who helped with the admission, making mums admission run smooth and uncomplicated, she has a wealth of knowledge about care homes and what we should expect.
The end result is a very happy mum, and family.
Winchcombe Place Care Home UK
Winchcombe Place Care Home UK.
We have been so lucky that our dad has become a full-time resident at Winchcombe Place in Newbury. He has settled into his new home so well, he loves it there. We were encouraged to personalise his room to make him feel comfortable and have familiar belongings around him. We had lots of help from the maintenance man hanging his pictures and his television, nothing was any trouble. He will say he is not lonely and sees people all the time, they bring him tea and care for him and they are always happy. The careers show him such warmth, kindness and respect there has never been a doubt in our families minds that Winchcombe Place Care Home is a safe, loving environment for him to live in. Although these are my words, our dad has told us all "I love it here, everyone is happy and kind to me."
Foxland Grange
If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. Managers have a bullying attitude towards their staff, lack empathy and only in this for themselves. Management teams have no clue what the others are doing and admin staff next to useless at resolving issues. No supervisions completed. Care quality is often below standard due to poor staffing and overworked, stressed out nurses. Lots of staff left or wishing they had. Absolutely useless.. avoid. As a side note, don’t you just love their “It saddens us to hear …..” stock reply. BS.

Very happy with Sandfields
I can see how happy my mum is in Sandfields Care Home, Cheltenham. She is joining in with the activities, great food and the staff are lovely. There is always someone to help me with any questions. It was a good find.
Extraordinary care and empathy
My mother has been at Winchcombe Care Home since December 2021; however their empathy and true kindness to my mother has been extraordinary! During Christmas and New year 2023 my mother was really suffering and the deputy went out to desperately source the antibiotics for her. The 24/7 care during this time was Extremely humbling ( I managed an hour with my mum and I was exhausted!). Their retention of staff under management who clearly know their staff helps especially with those residents who have dementia. My mother has early stage dementia and I can relax to being her daughter not her carer!
Amazing team of people
My mum has Parkinson's and for a long time since my dad passed away, she has managed by herself. However she now can no longer cope and reluctantly found herself needing care, which at 78 felt she was too young and wouldn't fit in.
She's now been in Heather View in Crowborough for 2 weeks and the care, support, facilities and warm welcome has been a huge relief for her, my sister and myself. I know she's safe and no longer lonely or scared of falls or freezes while she's on her own.
Would highly recommend this amazing team of people who genuinely care.
The moment you walk into Martlet Manor…
The moment you walk into Martlet Manor you feel a warmth from everyone and it’s like coming home. The senior management, the carers, the caterers, the cleaners and the laundry staff could not be more accommodating. My Mother wants for nothing and the care that she receives is astounding. I couldn’t ask for a better care home for my beautiful Mother to be living in. I cannot recommend Martlet Manor enough. Thank you for the amazing care that you provide for my Mother 24/7. I know I can leave from visiting her and she is safe and well cared for. You’re all phenomenal xx
Amazing care …
Just wanted to say how grateful our family is for the fantastic care given to our Mum. We found all the staff, whatever their role, to be kind, friendly and professional, often going above and beyond to ensure the happiness, safety and wellbeing of all those in their care. We are particularly grateful for the care and support given to us, as well as our Mum, when dealing with the difficulties that dementia can present. The staff on Reminiscence are amazing - showing boundless patience, good humour and special care - thank you.
Could not be happier.
My mum has been in Murrayside in Edinburgh for around four years and i could not be happier with the care. As her needs have increased she has moved from the residential floor to the nursing floor with the same consistent great care. While her Dementia has increased she continues to thrive and enjoy activities within the home. All three homes in Edinburgh provide outstanding care from amazing staff.
Excellent care, Lauder Lodge (Edinburgh)
My father has been resident in the Lauder Lodge home in Edinburgh for the last 3 years, where he lives with dementia.
The staff are all extremely diligent with his care and never fail to keep me informed of any aspects of his well being. I visit frequently and always see the residents getting the best of care and compassion they deserve.
I would not hesitate to recommend Lauder Lodge to anyone looking for a pleasant and caring environment for their family member.
Wouldnt trust them with a loved one
Wouldnt trust them with a loved one
The whole recruitment process is a shambles
Interviewed and offered job
Was badgered by admin who said my referees were not responding. Referees confirmed references had been dispatched
Tried doing courses and required paperwork but communications not working properly
Raised with admin `nothing wrong` (Mr Bates had the same problem !)
Manager on interview saying she was struggling to attract right calibre !
Decided to stay where I am
Would you trust them with your loved ones ? I don’t
Their hightest paid director earns £600,000
Their hightest paid director, according to Companies House data, earned more than £600,000 last year whilst front line care staff earn the minimum wage of £10.42. I was going to apply as a care assistant, but not now. The problem with private social care is the focus on for-profit at the expense of vulnerable elderly people who end up selling their homes to pay inflated care home fees just to line the pockets of fat cat directors and investment company shareholders. It's time the government legislated to stop this financial abuse.
My review is my experience in 2015
My review is my experience in 2015. Long time ago but the it kind of stuck with me. The mistrust to be precise. I worked as a special needs nanny and after 5 years I wanted a change so I applied at Care who gave me an interview date at Hilton Bracknell reception. A couple of days before I had pain in my kidneys I believe and went to a private hospital ( used the same doctor what my previous family I worked for used) and was offered a last-minute X-ray on the same day as my interview with Care at Hilton. I rang the elder lady up who did the interviewing and she thought that I made the whole thing up. She not just NEVER gave me another interview date but totally struck me off of any possible communication. Persona non grata I became. Well, anyway, I would like to thank her because I am teaching now and do not have to deal with people's bodies day-after-day.
Parson Grange staff where very friendly…
Parson Grange staff where very friendly extremely kind and looked after me during my visit . care home very clean and tidy .
Disgusting place
I worked there for 7 months. It’s an absolute disgrace, bullied everyday by management and staff. The nurses speak to you like your nothing but dirt on the bottom of their shoe. I’m 23 planning my grandads funeral on my own. Wasn’t allowed grievance time off. The staff don’t treat the residents with any respect or dignity. They leave doors open when doing personal care. The sponsorship staff that work there, don’t have a clue what they are doing or how to make toast. They left a resident in a wet pad while the resident was Mobile and could use the toilet/ commode. The place is vile and if you’re not a nurse or management you just get pushed aside and treated like dirt. Avoid at all costs
SHAMBLES…….
Worked for care uk for 2 year what an absolute disgrace and the management were no better! All had each others backs but couldn’t give two hoots about the staff or residents only time you see them TRYING to care was when the residents families were there all smoke screen and mirrors AVOID AVOID AVOID

Bourley Grange
My Parents are both currently at Bourley Grange and from my first call to them both settling in they have been professional, diligent, patient and caring and all the staff are friendly and all do a fantastic job . They put the elderly people they care for at the centre of everything they do with patience and empathy. The management are relaxed straight forward and communicate with the families of the loved ones they are caring for in an exemplary manner at all times.
Previous employee in Birmingham….
Previous employee in Birmingham….. the management are horrendous. They do not CARE about their staff or their residents. It’s so cloak and dagger, a closed door policy; they don’t talk to you, they talk down to you.
My time there made me unwell, I have never experienced such a hostile environment to work in and I’ve worked in a variety of settings during my working life.
There is no support when reporting managers to a higher level as they are all friends outside the workplace. I feel sorry for the residents and current employees…. It needs a complete overhaul and managers that actually care
