Great Team
The team at the British Safety Council are very helpful, the courses are excellent and the website functions as required. One slight niggle I have is with the wording of questions in tests - they sometimes contain poor word choices, and outright errors (e.g. using the word 'dates' instead of 'days' in a descriptor for a multiple choice question in IOSH Managing Safely), but nothing that you can't safely navigate with a modicum of common sense.

Nearly 3 months and still no original certificate
Nearly 3 months and still no certificate. Avoid!
I completed the IOSH Managing Safely course with British Safety Council on 29 January 2026. It is now May 2026 — nearly 12 weeks later — and I still do not have a verifiable certificate.
The temporary certificate they provided contains no verification code, which means it is completely useless for SkillCard applications. My SkillCard application has been put on hold because of this.
Every time I contacted BSC, the response was the same: "IOSH is upgrading their system, please wait." This went on for weeks. When I formally requested a refund or a course exchange in writing, they did not even respond.
I then raised a dispute through Klarna and contacted Trading Standards.
This is not a minor inconvenience — this is a paid service that was not delivered, with real professional consequences for the customer. If you are considering this course for your SkillCard or any time-sensitive professional requirement, think carefully before booking with BSC.
I hope BSC resolves this — but based on my experience, do not expect timely communication or accountability.

We are genuinely sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this delay has caused you.
We fully recognize how important timely certification is, particularly where it impacts professional requirements such as Skill Card applications. Unfortunately, as explained, the delays you’ve experienced are linked to a recent upgrade to IOSH’s portal, which has created wider system issues affecting all training providers and members. This has, in particular, impacted the timely issuing of certificates. That said, we understand that this does not lessen the impact on you.
To support our learners during this period, we have been issuing temporary certificates and offering additional documentation where possible, while remaining in regular contact with IOSH to push for resolution and updates In your instance, in addition to the temporary certificate, we have offered a letter of completion and contact with Skills card.
We have also put in several special requests for your certificate, appreciating the urgency. As IOSH is the awarding and certification body, we are reliant on their systems and processes for the final release of certificates. During this time, we have maintained consistent communication and responded to all emails, ensuring learners are kept informed and supported. We remain committed to ensuring you receive your certification as soon as possible.

Excellent Safety Training
I undertook the NEBOSH Diploma virtual classroom training last year (date supplied is the day I got my final results) and it was a very positive experience. The tutor was well informed and made the virtual setting engaging and informative. The physical materials supplied were comprehensive and were supplemented by good resources provided online.

Very disapointed with the service…
Very disapointed with the service received. Today cut off mid flow during a call. Phone straight back and was left on hold before the call was added by an automated leave a voicemail and we will get back to you straight away. That was two hours ago. They are quick enough to take your money but when it comes to provide a service not so. There are plenty more companies out that provide this type of service, I would recomend visiting them first before making you decision.
