Starting with drop off/pick up ,price…
Starting with drop off/pick up ,price is extortionate for time allowed, then you think you are in airport as walking through a indoor space only to be then have to cross an open space of over 50m, then you enter the actual airport itself ,this area hasn't changed since it was first built, so small and cramped . Next to no seating ,only mega tape rope barriers filing you towards checking baggage,.
Once you finally get checked in you have to go upstairs, lift,or travelator toward security, where again long tape ropes to send you to security, that is if you get through scaning boarding pass with no problem, only 1 person there to help .
Security was ok but still had to have bag searched as some items they couldnt be sure what it was ,so 10 minutes wait for bag to be looked at and then when they finished just shoved bag toward me . No politeness from any of security staff.
Walked into duty free area and finding a seat was near impossible and this was a quiet day I flew, must be hell if busy .
Sat on suitcase I had for hand luggage as even every food outlet was full or tables hadn't been cleaned, bought a coffee and was reasonably priced but food was mostly a third to half as much as on high street,
When gate was announced had to walk to the farthest point of airport, no travelators, if I was elderly would have had taken alot longer to walk .it is not flat it rises and falls gradients.
When at gat there were not enough seats for the amount of people, surely the airport should have enough seating for the largest plane to use airport at every gate, then had to walk out to plane, no buses and was a few hundred metres.
Luckily I only had 10kg luggage so never had to checkin. Just went through all the rest of the appaling sirvice and layout of this airport,
Now they are still trying to improve facilities but unless checkin area is sorted out the problems wont get any better
Shambolic and disorganised ‘Third World’ experience
This airport is even more of a shambles than before the recent “improvements” which have made it even more “user unfriendly” than I thought was possible than previously and highly unlikely we will be using it again any time soon.
The only positives from our recent experience were nothing to do with the airport itself i.e. the EasyJet twilight luggage drop which avoided the usual chaos of dropping checked luggage on the day of departure and the flight taking off and leaving this awful place. (Arguably one other unintended positive was getting in fair chunk of my daily 10,000 steps, but goodness help anyone with mobility issues.)
We dropped off our car at Silver Parking where staff were borderline disinterested/rude and caught the transfer bus to the new bus station, seemingly designed to cause maximum inconvenience to passengers, now that they are required to walk further to the passenger terminal than was previously the case when the bus dropped passengers immediately outside. This would have been tolerable with some of the route undercover, but the last 70 metres or so open to the elements with no covered walkway. Inevitability it was raining and windy. Whoever thought leaving this section of the walk open is in the wrong business.
Bags dropped with then trekked back from where we had come, signage to the Hotel pointing to a lift to a multi storey car park, then again open to the elements walking to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel. The next morning we discovered a quicker route from the Hotel to the terminal via a number of steps (there was also a zig zag path for those less able or unable to lug having bags up steps), signposted from the Hotel.
We had Fast Track security passes to avoid long queues where it was no quicker than the regular lines, but more shambolic with no obvious plan or system in place. The laughingly titled Fast Track line took 20 minutes to navigate. Once in to the secure area the facilities seemed overwhelmed from shops to toilets and a relief when our gate number came up, followed by a route march to gate 28 including going down a flight of stairs.
Once again EasyJet up to the mark boarding passengers very quickly and efficiently, permitting an almost on time take off after joining the queue of early morning flight departures.
Multiple points of failure at Bristol Airport where Management need to take long hard look at this mess, where my feeling is that the cop out of a planning application intended to improve matters is highly likely to increase problems at the airport rather than solving them, based on current and past performance.
Poor Arrival Experience
Flew to Corfu and seamless arrival. Returned to Bristol on Easy Jet 13/5/2026:
1.After landing doors were open but passengers left waiting. Air crew apologised saying that the ground crew were not ready (!)
2 Two Transfer buses filled quickly & passengers squeezed in when more space elsewhere. Could have been better managed by onlooking staff.
3 On route to the terminal the bus had to stop because of a queue of passengers waiting to board a Ryan air flight who were was blocking the way,
4Further delay on arrival at terminal when somebody, then, went about opening gates and doors.
Left my car in silver parking
Left my car in silver parking. On my return, found that the car had been looted of money kept for parking etc. About £40. They left the smaller silver coins!
Otherwise queues ++ and staff surly....
An awful airport
An awful airport! Overcrowded with absolutely no space to sit in the waiting areas. Awful queues through security and passport control.
A rip-off everywhere from extortionate drop-off fees to having to pay £2 just to use a trolley. The roads outside the airport were chaos with cars everywhere trying to avoid paying the airports crazy car parking costs.
If there is any way I can avoid use the airport in the future I will.
Overall waiting areas
Well
Where to start
Airport lounge and general
Staff not friendly welcoming
No view ?
Wheres the view gone ?
Disappointed
Can't Believe It!
Can't believe it - just got on the Airport Bus (A4) from Keynsham to Bristol Airport and there is no luggage rack so our cases are sitting in the space for wheelchairs and we are relying on a kind soul to make sure our cases don't roll up and down the aisle. Note to self - place cases on their sides in future so they can't roll.
Limited seating
All this expanding outside, you need to get the departure area sorted
..there is nowhere near enough seating and people are not spending as much because they can't sit down..very poor
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would.
You pay for Parking and when they return your vehicles in a different spot and I had some bolts and screws sitting in the passenger seat. I have no idea where these came from and what they’ve done to my car!
Secondly, they charged me £200 for 2 minutes on separate occasions I was reversing out of a car park because I’ve gone the wrong way and they charged me £100 for one minute of turning around. And £100 for 1 minute for stopping when one of the airport staff told me to!
I’m absolutely appalled by them and will never use their airport again!
Embarrassing airport for brits.
We have travelled in europe but before we left and when we returned everything was better everywhere else, I was embarrassed to be British, from bad info bad equipment to bad staff they don't have a patch on europe, we were waiting for our luggage at the designated carousel but it was put on another one with nobody informing us, the walk from exiting the aeroplane to finally leaving the terminal was 4,500 steps not good for people with disability.
on the trip out one of the food outlets had a staff member with a disgustingly bad attitude, who told me off for his attitude!!!
The multi storey car parking charges…
The multi storey car parking charges are ridiculous, I understand they have to be higher than the silver zone or the car park would not cope with the volume of traffic. But over £100.00 for four days parking is a little excessive.
Avoid if walking is a problem
It’s hard to think of positives. Short stay car park used to be simple to get to airport , just a short walk. Now you have to navigate through the multi storey, through lifts and walk forever. Due to Bristol council roadworks closing the main route to the airport and horrendously poor detour signage we got lost and were running late. Due to the long trek from the new car park we had to rush resulting in my wife having an angina attack. I was never a fan of the airport as it’s in the middle of nowhere but following the car park changes I will not travel from Bristol again. I’d sooner sit in the car longer and have an easier experience from the car park at other airports ( travelators, no hills, short stay genuinely close to terminal ).
I would give 0 star review if possible
I would give 0 star review if possible, never drive to this airport, I stopped for for 5 seconds and was fined £100,ridiculous charges and clearly designed to generate money and nothing to do with any other reason.
In addition carpark charges of £70 for 24hr its cheaper for me to drive and part at Heathrow.
Never again
Rip off parking charges charges
Rip off drop off charges. More expensive than Heathrow.
OVERCHARGE DROP-OFF or PICK-UP PARKING
OVERCHARGE DROP-OFF or PICK-UP PARKING, 7 POUNDS. 2 pounds for luggage trolley, very slow check-in.
Security was ridiculous
Security was ridiculous. It was as if they were working to rule. They opened every one if my 4 bags and went through them. They opened labelled sealed medication and swabbed them. They refused a tube if sealed mastic as apparently it is not allowed. They went through all the pockets of my husband's wallet and swabbed his phone. They even went through the wallet and swabbed the special assistance guy who was helping us through. They made my husband take his shoes off and show them the soles of his feet. We both have mobility problems so apart from it being humiliating, it was also painful to be standing so long. We have never had these problems there before and I have never seen so many in the normal queue before. People were really stressing that they would miss their planes. There were only a couple of security places open so everyone was waiting as roughly about 4 bags went to be checked with one going straight through. By the time we got to special assistance area we were both stressed and my husband had real difficulties in breathing.
Praise for the Special Assistance at Bristol Airport
I travelled from Bristol Airport to Knock Ireland today accompanying my sister who required spect assistance. I wish to acknowledge, compliment and thank all the Special Assistance staff the whole way through. They all carried out their tasks with diligence, good humour, respect and kindness. And that includes the RyanAir staff on the plane. Well done to everyone. Thank you very much. The manner in which you did your job is much appreciated
Silver zone parking high fees Security badly managed
Silver zone parking high fees.
Security was an absolute shambles. 21 flights departing between 6am - 7am only 2 Security lanes open!
2 suited & booted males looking on chatting & smiling but not managing the appalling situation. Queues for Security were to the stairs.
The signage on the way in from the A38…
The signage on the way in from the A38 is very poor. Don't turn into the 'multi story' if you are dropping someone off, there is no way out again without paying and it will cost you £40 for 20 minutes!!
Special Assistance at Bristol Airport
Special Assistance at Bristol Airport - This was our first time using special assistance at Bristol Airport and the service was top tier from start to finish! Every person who helped was kind, helpful, patient and knowledgeable. Couldn’t recommend it enough!! They made my grandmother’s trip and really put her at easy with it being her first time travelling after many years. A special shout out to Chris at Special Assistance for being so wonderful! Looking forward to using again.
