I am extremely impressed with a legal matter Brethertons recently took on for me. I was contacted by Amelia in the first instance when I requested for a call back. She was very professional, knowledgeable, listened to me, understood my query and put me in contact with Katie who was very efficient with preparing my documentation and responding to my emails, calls. Just before Amelia went on leave, she handed over my case to Caitlin Lovell who was very knowledgeable, patient and reassured me all would be well. Caitlin worked tirelessly to ensure my legal funding was secured, was always available to speak, provided clear guidance, put together my bundle and arranged for an excellent Barrister who represented me at the hearing date in Court. I have used Brethertons on several occasions now and always found the atmosphere very relaxed.
But my latest visit was to make changes to my will with a Amber Morris, a very welcoming young lady.
Throughout the appointment Amber was very good at explaining the process from start to finish, she was calm understanding also explained in detail, all that and no pressure on me.
Amber was Just 100% Professional and a pleasure to meet.

once the company realised that I had money they coudn,t wait to charge for everything they charged twice as much as my wifes solicitors yet were always runing to catch up when important issues cropped up she went on holiday forcing me to give in to my wifes demands especally when a court hearing was due (more costs) badly advised poor service through out DON,T USE THEM updated to correct name

A few minor things arose which meant additional time and emails from her, but she just dealt with them, very efficiently, and without extra charge, beyond her very reasonable original fee quote. Poppy Harber and Poppy Douglas make a fantastic team! Extremely competent and executed their role in my matter perfectly. They understood exactly how I was feeling, where I was coming from and what I really needed to achieve for the best outcome. Sterling efforts listening to my ‘layman’s terms’, and were able to translate/project/act professionally and with great accuracy. They both had great knowledge of my case and made me feel safe that my matter was fully understood and my voice was heard. I would use Brethertons again. (I am only giving my opinion/review based on my legal team. I cannot comment on other legal professionals at Brethertons)

I am submitting this review some 6 months after my last correspondence from Brethertons because I was so incensed with them I didn't think I would be able to give them a fair hearing.

I accessed a fixed price divorce at Brethertons through Wikivorce. Mine was possibly the simplest divorce settlement to process. It was an amicable divorce and my ex-husband and I had agreed the settlement (both capital and pension sharing) in advance of approaching Brethertons. Literally all they had to do was transfer the information from the questionnaire they sent us onto the relevant forms and submit.

First of all they seemed incapable of actually transferring the information accurately from the questionnaire onto the forms, - surely just a simple admin job - and then they seemed incapable of actually submitting the documentation. At no time was I give any information about the process or the timescales, and the only way I could get them to respond to emails was to threaten to contact them on the phone. It took 2 years in the end for the Pension Sharing order to finally be approved. During what was an incredibly stressful time anyway, they simply added to my anxiety. A truely appalling service. I will never recommend Brethertons to anyone.

I purchased the expedited fixed price consent order service from Brethertons via Wikivorce. My main reason for choosing them was the price which was alot lower than I had been quoted by local solicitors. The service was initially very poor - my emails were ignored and only responded to if I chased, responses were full of errors or incomprehensible questions, the drafted consent order had errors and omissions in it.
The extra charge for an expedited service was a complete waste of money because nothing was expedited! Wikivorce did refund me this part of the fee but to be honest, I would rather have had a quicker service. Prior to appointing Brethertons, my ex-husband and I had been to mediation and had an agreed financial settlement that was documented and only needed to be written up as a consent order. This took 2 months for Brethertons to complete and submit to court however it was then questioned by the judge because it was not drafted correctly and extra clauses needed to be added. This should have been done by Brethertons before the order was submitted to court and they told me that usually they would be standard clauses and should have been in the order. I did complain to Brethertons and they allocated another member of staff to my case, at which point things improved and I did start getting responses to my queries. All in all it took 4 months to get an approved consent order back from court. If your main criteria for choosing a solicitor is cost (mine was) then choose Brethertons but be aware that you will need to chase them every step of the way. If money is not an issue, pay someone else more and get a better service!
