Absolutely brilliant shop. Was first introduced by a friend and have been nowhere else since. Always honest & upfront about when stock is in and looks after his customers.

He doesn’t have a phone (despite Google assigning one to him) but easy enough to reach on messenger or the shop’s discord (which is an AMAZING community).

Since the move to the new shop, has been even better with in-house tournaments & an easy to reach location.

Wouldn’t shop anywhere else for my minis

I have ordered several times from this site. This includes both preorders as well as in stock items. Naturally a lot of the GW pre-order stock is subject to what they send but I like many reviewers have been let down on my most orders, having to constantly chase for updates on this order. I always look to support independent stores like this but I can unfortunately do this going forward.

As with previous orders there was a delay and I consistently looked to follow up on this with messages through the site, and via email provided. I didn’t receive any responses which was frustrating to begin with but I followed up fortnightly, looking to ensure that I received the product. I noticed that the site was down for development and so I gave the benefit of the doubt that it may not be until after this I receive a response (6th December).

Again I followed up but finally received a refund for the items but not for the postage (items that had not even been dispatched). The amount is minimal, but it is a really poor experience overall and I wished I had gone through reviews previous to purchasing.

Better communication, more upfront about issues and ensuring correct refunds would improve this experience but I can’t see me coming back to shop here again any time soonz

I pre-ordered a new item from Games Workshop, it was limited to one per customer so I only ordered one. My order was confirmed and the money was taken from my account, everything looked fine. Two weeks later, when Games Workshop orders usually ship, I looked at the tracking details to see if my order is on the way, only to find out it was cancelled the day after I placed my order. I had no email from the company, no reason why it was cancelled, and because it was a limited-time item I've now missed out. Looking at the rest of the reviews, this is a common issue with this company so please avoid them and shop at their competitors instead, they will respect your time.

Absolutely dreadful experience. Avoid at all costs.

Order confirmed, no tracking provided. Emailed them repeatedly with no response, called their shop's phone number, no answer. Expensive item (over £150) so I was nervous, but could see from social media they are very much still "active".

After a month of no contact/update, I gave up and asked bank to reverse the payment.

Went through the hassle of doing that, it took a month, and only then did they dispute my chargeback, saying they had posted it. The next day they posted the item.

It arrived, three months after ordering, still with NO contact or explanation. I didn't need it any more as had already ordered from somewhere else, now I have the extra one I don't need and am out of pocket.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE.

Ordered something 'in stock' on preorder. Order was cancelled two days later with no notification for why. Followed up twice by email but no response.

Made an order early May and have heard nothing about it other than having my money taken. The ordered items were in stock when ordered and still were when i last checked. I emailed the only contact they give twice at 3 weeks and 4 weeks after the order and received no reply. I have had to try getting my money back via my bank as the store seem to have no interest in fulfilling the order or refunding me. I've used many online hobby stores and this is the first bad experience. Order elsewhere.

I wish I read the reviews for this place before placing an order. But I got so excited that they had the exact Horus heresy box I wanted.

I ordered two weeks ago and heard nothing since. I have tried to call and email, no reply, no answer.

I did a charge back through my bank as I couldn’t get ahold of them for a refund. 2 hours later they send tracking information and for the past week it has been set at “awaiting information” meaning it has not been sent to a Royal Mail post office.

Do not trust this company for online sales. They either don’t care, or scammers or completely swamped with orders, which in that case, they shouldn’t be taking orders.

I will not order from this place again. I had to get my stuff straight from GW when I prefer to support smaller independents. In this case, I got burned.

Do not give these guys your hard earned money

Really poor experience. Ordered £145 worth of stuff and heard nothing from them until I asked to cancel the order. I was then sent a dispatch alert for part of the order but 5 days later the RM tracking still says they haven't received it. No emails have been responded to. Would not advise anyone use their online store.

I placed an order with Battleground Gaming UK on 2nd May. As of today — nearly a month later — I have not received the order, they have provided no proof it was ever dispatched, and they still have my money.

The only “evidence” offered was an internal packing slip dated 13th May. But there is no Royal Mail scan, no proof of posting, no collection receipt, and the tracking status remains “We’re expecting it”, confirming Royal Mail never received the parcel.

Despite this, the seller refuses to issue a refund unless Royal Mail confirms the parcel is lost. This is not just incorrect - it is a breach of UK consumer law.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, a retailer is legally responsible for goods until they are delivered to the customer. If the item was never received by Royal Mail, the retailer is still liable.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be delivered within 30 days. That legal deadline will be missed, and the seller has failed to show that the goods were even handed over for delivery.

I've explained all of this to the seller clearly, given them multiple opportunities to respond, and my messages were either ignored or met with unprofessional replies.

This is not simply poor customer service — it is a failure to comply with basic consumer protection law.

I have now had to seek legal recourse by opening a case with Trading Standards. In addition to this, I have contacted the Games Workshop Trade Accounts team to make them aware of how this business is operating, citing all of the other people that have had similar experiences.

Do not order from this business online.

First started going to store after all the lockdown shennanigans a few years ago.

Absolutely hands down best gaming store I have been to in my 30+ years in the hobby.

Joe is great, will do what ever he can to get the stuff you are after at a great price, works with people to get leagues & campaigns running & puts on great tournaments.

The store community is absolutely fantastic too, always fun gaming instore or just popping down for some supplies & then 3 hours have gone by whilst chatting with everyone.

Cannot recommend enough

After only now reading reviews for Battleground I can see that this is a common story for their webshop.

If you take pride in what you do,
Seriously think about what you are doing to your Online patreons & yourself.
Work out whether you can do the job or you need some help or just refund people straight away.
There is no shame in admitting defeat but there is plenty of shame in continually taking orders but not delivering & not answering.

They offer the cheapest prices on GW kits but they are very slow and unresponsive to queries. expect 1-2 weeks for your items to be posted. Still recommended due to the cheap price and understanding that it is almost a 1 man operation

Arrived in good time, well packaged and in good condition.
Highly recommend.

In-store is also a must visit. Great customer service.
Great atmosphere. The owner, Joe, is always on hand to answer any questions or queries.
Once again, highly recommend both the shop and Joe and I wouldn't use any other store now.

My order took a very long time to arrive, with the site offering no explanation after me reaching out several times to them. When it did arrive, parts were missing, and they still did not get in contact with me. Terrible customer service and I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews after my own experience

Placed my pre order end of January, received a follow up email two weeks later informing me the items would be dispatched as soon as available.

Waited SIX weeks, no communication so I sent them an email enquiry about estimated delivery as GW now had the items in stock on their website. Didn't get a response. Two weeks after that I get an email informing me order was cancelled without explanation and refund given. Just over two months they had control of my money and will now have to wait 10 days to see if the refund actually appears back in my account. Will not be ordering from them EVER again.

Terrible service, feels like a scam. Wish I had seen all these negative reviews before ordering from them. Lesson learned.

I bought a Pokemon etb from this place at the time I did not notice but when I got home and opened it in the evening i had realised it was re sealed the wrapper was re sealed both side of the etb was not like any others soon as I pulled it it ripped away once I opened the etb inside card that holds everything together was all bent as if it’s bin taken out the trash dices was out of the packet divider out the plastic bag and packs was all re sealed filled with commons and energy No rares or shinies I called them up a few times and once they finally answered they said they check all their items and cut me off I rang again and the guy who had sold me the etb just said he wasn’t aware that I called but told me no refunds like he knew what I purchased. AVOID AT ALL COST only good for scamming and taking your money 65£ for an etb
