Barclays Bank 

I visited Taunton branch today. Met Carolyn who helped me with the new cash machines. She also answered some questions for me on my accounts. First class service could not of ask for more thank you.

Barclays customer 40 yrs +. issue with potential fraud on barclaycard. They- ie barclays -called me with warning--- I didn't call back till I checked number at home. First attempt - my cordless phone died after being on hold 39 minutes.
Live in area of poor mobile signal so have to use "landline"
Tried via chat -- told I needed to phone as (very much a trying to be helpful) person I chatted with did not have access to systems to investigate.
2nd attempt to phone - told waiting time 25 mins I hung up
3rd attempt at 20h45 told 20 mins.
Not a happy customer!!!!!

Arranged a meeting with Personal Banker Eleri at the Carmarthen Branch a few weeks ago.
She was most helpful and very informative in all the account business I need advice and action on.
Fantastic customer service, conducted in a trustworthy, professional manner, we left the meeting with all banking matters resolved and completed for another year.
Huge thanks to Eleri for all her help and going through everything with us. Barclays should feel very lucky to have such an outstanding employee in their staff.

Blocked my card today because I had, according to them, tried to make a "suspicious transaction", consisting of a perfectly straightforward payment to a business supplier! Caused acute embarrassment to me and wasted 3 hours of my life trying to sort it out. LISTEN Barclays: You got a concern about a transaction? PHONE OR EMAIL ME! Don't screw up my business relationships and waste my life.

Great visit to the newly refurbished branch today. Natalie was very professional and was able to answer all our queries very efficiently and in a friendly manner which enabled us to relax and get the most from the experience. As for the refit- amazing! Loved every aspect of it from th open plan entrance area to the personal areas which offered quiet spaces for discussions about our account. Looking upwards to the ceiling which was of warehouse style, I was reminded of being in a modern, knowledgeable company which knows where it's going in this modern world - well done to all in Taunton! Let's hope we can enjoy the service of our lovely Taunton branch for many years to come!

I wanted to change the PIN of my new Barclays credit card to something more memorable. What did I find at the only cash machine within reach of a ninety-two year-old who does not drive? 'This card is not supported by this machine.'

Went to Barclays in Wrexham twice in the last couple of months and Sonya was so helpful,patience and understanding with my reqirements.
Such a lovely lady and an asset to Barclays,worth her weight in gold,hope she is valued.

We dealt with Nikki for our business account. Very friendly and extremely helpful....made the whole thing stress free

I spent $17K in a one year period with Barclays Arrival and they have reduced my credit line twice. Down from 11K to 3K. They said I wasn’t using it enough. I never carried a balance. Maybe that’s why. So I seldom use them anymore. They used to be great but now they’re awful. It’s ok, I have other alternatives so I don’t really need them. They certainly aren’t interested in making money. I don’t how they expect me to purchase 3 international plane tickets with 3K

I know Barclays by reputation, so in spite of the poor reviews I read, I decided to create an online account to earn high interest. Account creation went just fine, but verification of my external account was a show-stopper. Instead of two small credits and two debits, they sent me 4 credits and 2 debits. I couldn't verify the external account no matter which combination of two credits I used. This is the type of incompetence I have read from others. Bye bye Barclays!

I have been a Barclays customer for over 40 years, and more recently a premier one. My account was recently blocked and I was told I had to go to a branch with ID. After 1hr 10 minutes the branch staff succeeded in talking to the Fraud Team - unblocked account but I was still unable to withdraw a sizeable amount of cash. Fraud Team were VERY defensive and constantly questioned a company I had paid online (for Gardening!!!) and why was I withdrawing cash (der - you’d blocked my transactions!). Decided I would draw cash in smaller amounts over a few days. Same day - got cash - account blocked again. Same treatment from Fraud Team. And worse, refused to make a note of my intention to draw further cash so likely to get blocked again tomorrow. It’s my money, all legitimate, how and when I choose to withdraw it is my business. Disgusting service

We have a charitable business with them and recently had to add a person on to the list of authorised users. It became a nightmare very quickly, every call was at least an hour long, multiple departments to deal with and so on. Even now the new user still cannot get the APP working but like us fed up and frustrated with the communications he has undergone so far. Truly badly disorganised customer service who I am sure all work from home too so probably feel no connection either.

Terrible service. Wrong information. Can’t deal with issues arising from their errors in branch and give you an appointment in a different branch weeks later. Been a customer for 36 years but had enough now

Been with Barclays for many years and today I got the worst service ever, absolutely will be leaving this bank at the end of the year when my business closes, appalling customer service, don’t give a jot about there customers , terrible bank don’t touch them was so upset with it all today

Can’t believe they even still exist. Living in the dark ages, endless paper forms to fill out, blocked accounts on the regular for no reason. They make your life a misery. AVOID for business baking I promise you, you will regret using them.

I’ve come from monzo and starling to Barclays for a separate business and it’s like I’ve gone back in time by 20 years.

Everything that’s so easily done online or in the monzo / starling app is dome by Barclays on paper forms that have to be printed and scanned about or even BRANCH VISITS.

Everything is so our of date it’s actually unbelievable.

And just now, our business bank and all cards were blocked out of the blue, all because of a payments coming in was flagged by the senders bank!!! Why would that block out one bank???
I had to be passed around 3 departments verifying myself the SAME INFORMATION every time, to get the most stupid response and solution to it.

It’s insane they can block our bank completely out of our control like that.

The list of issues is endless.

I cannot express how far ahead Monzo / Starling / Revolut are, they are LIGHT YEARS ahead and Barclays shouldn’t be allowed to operate this sub par

Visited the Local Pod Branch in Stirling. My wife and I received first class personal service. Well done.

We have had an appalling service from Barclays Bank. We had a business account with them, they failed to update our mandate on 5 separate occasions then continuously sent me threatening letters and messages to my mobile phone which threatened us with account closure, the mandate continued to show a director that had retired and they still failed to update this despite my requests for them to do so, we sent in 5 separate new mandate forms and letters, I telephoned in on countless occasions, wrote to them endless amounts of time by recorded delivery yet they still failed to update our mandate, then with the imminent threat of account closure we took the decision to remove funds from the account. Since then we have had an 18 month battle with them, they sent a pathetic excuse letter out to us which I immediately disputed so I was promised that they would look into it and re-open the case. Having chased them by telephone every month and being passed from pillar to post and no one at Barclays having a clue on how to deal with the issue, I was then asked to take it up with the FSA, they knew full well that this would now exceed the FSA rule of 6 months. It was literally two days out of this window so now the FSA won't even look at it. So all in all this account has cost us hundreds of pounds in losses and not to mention the endless phone calls and letters and the stress it has caused. If you are still reading this and considering a new bank account - avoid Barclays Bank like the plague they really are not worth all the hassle and may end up costing you money too.I'd never bank with them again on a business or personal level.

Just had a chat with Karin from the Stratford branch, what an amazing experience. Karin’s was professional, excellent customer service support and a credit to the Barclays team. I came off the phone feeling good to be a customer of Barclays Bank! Thank you for restoring pride and confidence in the banking system Karuna.
