Scam .. never received .. emails ignored .. did a cash back through my bank .. AVOID

We started having issue with the mattress before it was even paid off (less than 2 years). Their return policy is so complicated and difficult I would not even consider it a legitimate option. I wake up in so much pain most mornings it is difficult to get out of bed. It’s completely ridiculous to feel this way at my age. I would not recommend this brand of mattress.

I purchased a mattress, sheet set/pillows/mattress protector, and bed frame from Awara and have had an ongoing issue that remains unresolved. The mattress arrived with a grease stain, the edges are curved and unsupported, and it is too small for the bed frame that was sold with it, leaving a 2–4 inch gap on all sides. One of the bed frame’s support legs is positioned in a way that makes it easy to stub my toes, which feels like a design flaw. The sheets are "ok" but nothings special, and the pillows are all kinds of lumpy.

When I contacted customer service, I spoke with a representative named Sheena who agreed to make an exception and allow me to return both items, even though the bed frame was technically beyond the return period. Despite this agreement, Awara later refused to accept the bed frame return.

I’m disappointed in how this has been handled. The quality of the products did not match expectations, and the company has not honored its word. I’m requesting that Awara accept both returns and issue a full refund for both items. I hope they will address this properly and improve their customer service practices.

I would highly recommend for back sleepers if you are happy with 3 years of low back support before it no longer supports your low back. Ready to toss it after 4 years and forget about customer support. 4 days on the phone getting the runaround. Ok for side sleepers

Their warranty is a joke. They made us jump through hoops and send multiple rounds of photos including many that show an over 2" sunken hole after 5-6 years (their warranty is good for 10), only to tell us our mattress was 'too stained' in the end. It was not, and had been in a protector since day one, and they didn't use this excuse until after multiple rounds of photos and measurements were taken. We were hoping for a small credit towards a new mattress at minimum, since we thought we had a handful of years left on this one. No such luck. Now I find all the bad reviews....

Edit: I reached a resolution with their customer service to refund me to the cost of two twin beds, since that is essentially what these beds are as they never expanded.

Original post: Their beds do not expand fully. I purchased two twin XL mattresses, both only expanded to 77 inches, not the full 80 inches. They offered to send replacements and a service to pick up the mattresses. Lo and behold, the company they use to pick up mattresses "does not work in my area." So I had to find a way to donate 2 like new mattresses. Then the replacement mattresses only expanded to...77 inches! So now they will either ship me new ones and I have to find a way to be rid of 2 brand new mattresses again or I can get a refund and STILL have to find a way to be rid of the mattresses. Would it not make more sense to just refund me the difference between a twin and twin XL, since they sold me a product closer in size to the twin? This company clearly does not believe in sustainable practices and would rather waste fuel shipping me new mattresses (which at this point I wouldn't trust to expand) or just refund me and have them go to a landfill.

Never received the mattress. Customer service is non-existent. TBH is company is owned by resident home. They do NOT return phone calls or emails. Their chat is AI. They do not let you know the status of your mattress or return any emails or phone calls. Stay away!

Bought a twin mattress for my daughter. It's an elevated bed, and the mattress is so squishy that she can't really climb into it without help. But whatever, she didn't seem to mind too much.

Then our new kitten peed on it. Ok, so I cleaned the pee, which involved removing the mattress cover to scrub it. Of course then the mattress cover won't fit back on. So I reach out to Awara, where they have a forever warranty (not) and I had bought the extended warranty to cover all accidents. The Awara customer service sends me to the extended warranty company (aka Extend). They put my claim through their AI chatbot which auto-rejects it because I mention a kitten (even though that wasn't really what caused the problem). I call them and they tell me I can re-file. I do and it's auto-rejected because they rejected the first one.

I go back to Awara, and they're saying the Forever Warranty is voided because I removed the mattress cover. All right, fine. Can I BUY a new mattress cover. Nope. They consider the cover to be part of the mattress, so I'll have to buy a whole new one.

I purchased this mattress four years ago. I loved it! But the other day I sat down and my entire buttocks went through the bed into another dimension and I could feel springs. They supposedly have a forever warranty, but they said because of a small stain on the corner of the bed, it voided the warranty. Please tell me how a little stain in a completely different area of the bed caused a foot long crack in the latex? I’m very disappointed as I’m doing research. I see this mattress isn’t even organic! Let me remind you I’ve only slept on it for four years … It’s not like I bought this mattress 15 years ago and I’m complaining …Customer service couldn’t help me even though the people I talked to were nice, I guess they’re just doing their job , but don’t call it a forever warranty if something like a little stain, will void it. Seems like a scam! I did so much research before purchasing this but evidently they have to use the word natural now versus organic. I would never purchase from you again! It’s just bad business.

I am giving awara 1 star only because 0 isn't an option. My mattress arrived damaged. I asked them to arrange pickup, and three weeks later the pickup happened. Even after I gave awara a copy of the pickup reciept, no sure why the company doing the pickup couldn't do that, they still wouldn't issue me a refund. I was extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this companynto anyone.

This company has terrible products and will delay shipment. When you tell them to cancel the order they will state they will cancel it and will still try to send it to you. When you state that you do not want it, they will state they can’t refund. I have it in writing that they were going to cancel it.

The mattress is great but the platform is useless. The slats will not stay in place and are so thin they break.

We are on our second mattress from Awara. The first one broke down after 6 months and they insisted it was a lemon and sent us a new mattress. We’ve had the second one for just over 6 months and again it’s doing the same thing. They will no longer refund us since we are over a year. My wife and I are both athletic and in good shape so I know that’s not why the mattresses aren’t supporting us. Awaras site also wont let me leave a review. Do not buy a mattress from them unless you want to be out your money within a year. Terrible mattress. Really dissatisfied

Do not buy a mattress from this company. False advertising, there is no guarantee, they will absolutely not refund your money. The way they work is, if you are unsatisfied with the mattress they require you to donate it. Now we all know and so do they that no organization will take a used mattress for fear of bed bugs. I was then told I had to show proof that I discarded, which I did. Had to hire a company so I can get a receipt for the disposal. They will make the process as painful and stressful as possible and still not give you a refund. I was actually approved for the refund by Awara, but I never received it. Weeks go by and they stopped answering my emails. Ended up filing a dispute with my credit card provider then was informed that they refused the refund. So I am out over 1k for a mattress I don't have, since they required I dispose of it. ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE COMPANY, terribly dishonest. I will go on every platform possible to make sure consumers know what they are dealing with, BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

After months of attempted communication, I firmly believe this company is a sham. I purchased two mattresses and from the first moment, I could never speak to anyone at the company and my emails were only returned after many days or a week. My husband did not like the mattress and it was too expensive to "live with." So we tried to initiate the return process (there is a "365 day sleep trial"). It took 2 MONTHS to complete the process and I had to jump through hoop after hoop - sending pictures at different angles, in different formats. And again, I wouldn't receive a response for a week after I sent an email (with a response like "unfortunately we were unable to open the files you sent"). Ultimately they suggested I throw my mattress out with the garbage after spray painting huge X on it (!!!!!) and then send them a picture of it in the garbage...rather than give the mattress to a friend or family member. For a company that boasts its "sustainability efforts" this is unforgivable. I therefore have no trust in the company that anything they say about their eco-friendly production materials and supply chain methods are true. I don't even believe they plant a tree for every mattress created. Where exactly? Where is the proof? Bottom line is I believe this entire company is a SHAM.

I feel confident the reviews on the website are fake. The mattress is terrible for stomach sleepers. It's both saggy AND uncomfortably hard on top. I bought it and was never asked for a review. I can't find a way to leave one.

Reviews said the return process was easy and IT IS ANYTHING BUT EASY! They want ME to find a local organization that accepts used mattress donations and provide a donation receipt. NO ONE ACCEPTS USED MATTRESSES! Even if they did, I don't have an ability to transport a mattress which is why I opted for delivery.

This is so absurd. I'm so angry.

terrible customer service and difficult purchase experience.

i am writing my review solely on the purchasing experience i've had as i've not yet received my mattress or bed frame. this company is owned by nectar (awara is the latex mattress and nectar is the foam). i'm unsure why there are no reviews for awara but nectar has a ton - though i suspect many are fake. there are dozens of reviews posted within the last few hours supposedly regarding their great customer service. it seems very suspect that all kinds of people would post at the same time regarding their online chat.

in any event, i've had nothing but problems since i first decided to buy this mattress and bed frame. there's essentially no information online so i had to contact the online chat numerous times for issues regarding frame size, information regarding specifics about the bed frame, etc.

when i completed my purchase i never received a confirmation. i had to again contact customer service.

i finally got a shipping notification and when i didn't hear back from the white glove delivery service i paid an extra $200 for, i contacted awara again. i was then told that only the bed frame had shipped and not the mattress. the confirmation email was completely unclear in this respect. it was generic and said "your item(s) have shipped." the fedex page showed the shipping information and clicking on the link for my order only brought me to awara's main page. this is a real problem as i had already arranged for my old mattress to be picked up as i thought the mattress and frame would be delivered soon.

i have since contacted awara two more times to find out when my mattress would ship. i've been given different information each time. at this point, i'm not sure i'll ever get it.

the final niggling point is that the online chat takes a while to respond. and what's worse is that after a short period of time there's an automatic message saying that "it's been a long time since you've responded. we will close the chat if you don't respond soon." this happens even when you're waiting for the customer service representative to respond. this is ridiculous.
