Atkin and Thyme Anmeldelser 

We purchased a bistro set recently & its been a great purchase. Firstly, it came sooner than expected, was brilliantly wrapped (enough to keep it from being damaged, but not so much to make it a battle to unwrap it). and then it is so well made & now its on the decking we are really enjoying it - comfy and a perfect size & very easy to move around as its really light (but still sturdy). I cant recall the last time we had such a great experience when buying something online/unseen. I dont hesitate to recommend the company to others... many thx, Liz

Where to even start? Please do not buy from here - ever!

I have bought several items from Atkin and Thyme over the years and always been impressed until now.

I ordered the Westbourne Forest Green Marble Dining Table and 4 x Layla Dining chairs on June 24th 2026. As of today (22nd July) I've sent over 20 emails, made 15 odd phone calls and am still left without what I paid £2k for. Please avoid and check other reviews with the same issues. I wish I had

Here is a timeline of events:

Delivery booked for 3rd July.

Delivery company calls 2nd July, asks if they can deliver 4th. No problem

Delivery drivers unsure of where to park (ever heard of a pavement???) so don't deliver. They said their manager would call. This didn't happen. Bear in mind, not one word from Atkin and Thyme.

6th July - I have to chase (this becomes a theme). And ask where my products are?

7th July - after FIFTEEN emails, finally get confirmation that they're going to rescheudle. Spoke to 1st person, who was useless, then someone very rude at Atkin & Thyme (2nd person) who, after I expressed my disappointment at spending £2000 two weeks ago, effectively said "do you want them or not" like a child.

13th July - delivery happens. Firstly, the drivers forget the table top in the van and i have to point out to them that its very unlikely I would have bought a table...without the table. And oh - did they have a time putting it together. All the sides of the marble table were marked with black tyre marks as if it has been wheeled in black stain. Then, some idiot tried to 'buff' the marble but looks like they did so with some kind of steel brush. Scratches everywhere. Dull marks.

I asked the drivers to take back but they couldn.t.

I tried calling Atkin + Thyme about 8 times that day. No response. 14th July, no response. I'd sent several emails including the pictures and, mind you, on the 13th, the drivers were waiting to hear from A+T so they knew what to do.

Finally I get through to 1st person again, on the 15th. She advises me to check the chairs and she'll be back in touch BY END OF DAY TOMORROW (16th) with a delivery time for a new table and chairs if needed. Well, I checked the chairs, every one of them poor quality. Threads lose, poor craftmanship; genuinely suprised this left their warehouse.

Of course 1st person DOES NOT get back in touch next day so I, once again managing my own customer service, email on Friday 17th.

"I apologise for not getting back to you yesterday.
We've arranged an exchange for all the items for you. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to keep the furniture as it is, we can look at offering you a partial refund instead.
Please let us know which option you would prefer, and we'll be happy to arrange it for you."

I say - I do not want a refund, I want new products asap.

No response.

July 20th, 3rd person (whoever this new person is). Says "Please note if we replace your items no further compensation will be offered. We are willing to do any of the following:
Issue a partial refund of £186.57 for you to keep the existing items as is
Replace the marble top and four Layla dining chairs. Collect both the table and chairs and issue a full refund"

I'd said on the 13th, 15th and 17th I do not want a refund, here they are with me having my dining area full of boxes and a table that is a mess, for a whole week and they're asking me if I want a refund AGAIN. I mean, what have they been doing for a whole week aside from not answering their phone?

So again, I say no, I don't want a refund now just like I said a week ago. I chase and chase. No response on 20th or 21st. Now I get a bland email on 22nd saying they've sent the order through.

I have no idea why they didn't do this on the 13th, as I asked, now we're a week and a half later and they're now just ordering the replacement.

I'm genuinely shocked at this experience. I have a bookshelf, TV stand and coffee table from Atkin & Thyme as my go to for new furniture but this experiecne is baffling to me. The number of times I had to chase, the number of times they didn't answer the phone, the number of times they sat back and did nothing.

Since July 3rd (the original delivery day), my family have had no table or chairs to eat at. And unfortunately, as I write this, we still don't. I would have expected a fast turnaround but it may have been quicker for me to return these and just buy again. Never ever will I shop from here again.

I will come back to update this when I (finally, if ever!) receive a table and chairs and IF they are the quality I expect. But as of this moment, I have low hope.

A month from when I placed the order, almost a month since delivery was scheduled and I have 4 huge boxes and an unused table in my dining area and a customer service team that seems to work 30 minutes every three days.

(Update 1: today is 24th July and still no furniture. Also removed names since they only like names mentioned on good reviews)

Comfortable, quality Patio set in beautiful terracotta, made from quality powder coated aluminium, with a natural stone table top and water repellent, natural cushions. Powder coated aluminium will survive outdoor and even seaside settings while staying cool. There are back and seat cushions, with a slightly reclined seat, ensuring comfort when relaxing. Top marks.

Great product and customer service.

Pete was great and responsive but the product quality was shit. Sad to say.

Bought 2 garden loungers and they are the most comfortable garden loungers I’ve ever used top quality
Delivery was swift and customer service was first class I will be purchasing other items in the not to distant future

We ordered outdoor seating from Atkin & Thyme after a very frustrating experience elsewhere — full payment taken, shifting delivery dates, and no clear updates from Cox & Cox. Atkin & Thyme were the complete opposite. The chairs were in stock, delivered within a week exactly as promised, and the delivery team was genuinely lovely — careful, polite, and professional. The whole process felt smooth, reliable, and refreshingly straightforward.A really positive experience and a brand I’d happily buy from again

We had a marble table and beautiful chairs delivered this morning. 1 chair missing customer service resolved the situation straight away. Table and chairs were very well packaged the quality of them are of a very high standard can't fault this company. Thank you x

So pleased with my purchase (Matilda two seat bistro set) together with two scatter cushions. Everything was beautifully made and such good quality. Atkin & Thyme Customer Service was tip top in investigating a query I had and allaying any concerns. Delivery was also very efficient - kept fully informed and received on time. Certainly recommend buying from Atkin & Thyme.

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

My experience purchasing living room furniture from this company was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.

The item arrived with damage and significant manufacturing issues. When I contacted customer service, they failed to offer a reasonable solution. Even the company’s director acknowledged they couldn’t assure me that a replacement would arrive in good condition, which didn’t inspire any confidence in the standard of their products.

The quality of the furniture was far below expectations. It was missing essential screws and components, and the packaging had an unpleasant smell that was difficult to ignore.

On top of that, there were several unsuccessful delivery attempts, and dealing with customer support only added to the frustration. I spent far too much time trying to get the issue resolved and ended up out of pocket with a faulty piece of furniture.

If you value your time and money, I’d suggest avoiding this company and purchasing from a retailer with better quality control and customer service.

Buying furniture from this company has been one of the worst purchasing experiences we’ve ever had.

The furniture arrived damaged and structurally flawed, yet the company refused to provide a satisfactory resolution. Even the director admitted they couldn’t guarantee a replacement would arrive undamaged, which says everything about their confidence in the quality of their products.

The furniture was poor quality, with missing screws and parts, and the packaging had a strong manure-like smell.

To make matters worse, we experienced multiple failed deliveries and some of the worst customer service we’ve dealt with. We’ve wasted countless hours chasing a resolution and have been left out of pocket with a defective product.

Recently bought an expensive item of garden furniture online which was delivered on time. Unfortunately on opening it became clear that the bolts and other fixtures were entirely missing or not in correct amounts therefore the item could not be made.
Customer Service was OK, initially they sent a generic email however on following up with a telephone call and a further email a resolve was found. It did incur a fortnight delay however.
My other main gripe is that the item I bought is by the brand LG however this was not indicated on the website. Whilst the website does reference it uses chosen suppliers the marketing strategy of Atkin and Thyme appears to be one of a 'luxury brand' and the names of the items are changed. Whilst this may be legal it does feel dishonest to the customer. In this particular case a quick Google of the actual brand and product showed it advertised at a significantly lower price point and the item also appears to be old stock as no longer stocked by LG. It does however have very similar items again priced much lower...and that's comparing it to the supposed 'sale price' I bought it for.
LG itself has some pretty horrendous reviews about the longevity of its garden furniture so whlst I have no specific concerns with the product itself in its new state I absolutely would not have bought from this brand had I have known before delivery.
The episode has left a sour taste and a feeling of being scammed somewhat. Lesson learnt. My only advice to others would be to do a Google image search of whatever product you like to see if can be bought cheaper elsewhere.

The £700 chest of drawers I bought from Atkin and Thyme 4 years ago has literally fallen to pieces. Its oozing some sort of glue at joins and the wooden runners have snapped off. When you pay that much for solid wood drawers its not unreasonable to expect them to last. I would have had more longevity from build your own mdf furniture. Very very poor quality absolutely not worth the cost.

Everything is great, products, customer service, speed of delivery but the smell of the cardboard packing is revolting. It's so bad that if you don't get it out of the house quick it permeates through the rooms. We made a mistake of not unboxing a table straight away and the whole kitchen stunk. I've bought items that have fabric upholstery and they smell the same from being in the packaging and so need a really good airing and fabric spray before using. Totally fine after a while but takes the shine off your purchase! I'm a nurse and can only describe it as a c-diff type smell... if you know you know 😬. I hope they address the issue as their items are gorgeous but would definitely be put off in the future by the smell.

Most of my furniture is from A&T, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The quality is excellent, the designs are beautiful, and they regularly offer sales, which is always a great opportunity to pick up something new. On top of that, their customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend!
