Myself and my partner moved into a new property using Andrew Granger & Co Ltd in August 2022 and we couldn’t be happier with the place and their service. Any queries we ever have are always answered within a good amount of time, the whole moving in process was easy and straightforward, and they’re always really friendly on the phones. They even went the extra mile to rearrange a routine appointment to suit us due to personal events which was a lovely gesture. Would recommend to family and friends should they ever require their services.

I'm a tenant in Market Harborough and very impressed with the services of the AG & Co office here. From the viewing, through to signing the tenancy contract and subsequent moving arrangements, the service I received has simply been stellar. As well as being professional, the letting team, Jade and Alison, couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. Additionally, the maintenance team I communicated with and received service from have been outstanding: prompt, and caring, both Dimple and Phil.

We have used the good services of Andrew Granger & Co to both purchase and sell property as well as use them as managing agents in letting our properties. We have always found them to be efficient and helpful whilst being entirely professional. They have gone 'the extra mile' to assist us both in dealing with tenants in our properties and assisting us to sell properties whilst we were living outside Leicestershire. It is too difficult to single out any particular staff member as they have all been excellent.

The team at Andrew Granger in Market Harborough have been looking after our properties for many years now. Jilly, Kara, Andrew (and not to forget Carol in Accounts!) are always happy to help with excellent advise, support and practical assistance. Can highly recommend them.

The Maintenance team are fantastic, I called in today to report an issue within an hour the contractor called me. The agents called me later in the day to ensure I was happy with the work. I've spoken to Kara & Dimple and since they've come in I feel so looked after. Thank you both ladies and when I'm next in town will drop off some choccies

RESPONSE TO ANDREW GRANGER'S COMMENTS
Their response is neutered and clinical in the extreme considering the circumstances (See below) as expected:

At no time do they properly address any situation other than to say "We're sorry that you feel that way."
They appear to be sorry, here, that they have not yet given us our formal notice of eviction!

Obviously what I have said has not been disputed, and they are not interested in negotiating with us, merely profiting off of our misery. Their ethos should be well and truly avoided at all costs.

No reasonable person would believe that the landlord wants this property back for their family. What has actually happened is that we have been subject to a 'retaliatory/revenge' eviction. If these agents were worth anything they would have negotiated - at the very least - to extend this onerous and despicable time-scale, yet this is not in their psyche. They only ever TELL tenants what to do, they will not treat them as anything other than a sub-species of the human race. No one wants to live like this.....

As the managing agents, Andrew Granger (Market Harborough) are complicit in using the current law to evict us on behalf of the landlords. We will be homeless because they are cynically making this move before Section 21 is repealed next year. They are a disgrace.

Section 21 allows unscrupulous landlords a ‘no fault’ eviction – which is why it is being changed. For Andrew Granger to allow use of this law, just before it changes, is reprehensible when we have neither missed a rent payment, nor abused this property.

(First Granger’s had the gall to demand double the ‘inspections’ – which are a horror all of their own with these agents – but could find no fault. At this failure to find fault, our tenancy should have been assured, but then came Section 21.)

We took this property on a long term basis in good faith, yet we are being quite unceremoniously – shafted - after less than 2 years. Serious landlords do not take back the property to the detriment of serious tenants at no recompense (i.e. if it were truly unavoidable, which is not the case here.) And serious agents do not aid and abet the landlords in implementing this unwarranted dismissal – with absolutely NO NEGOTIATION whatsoever.

It is also amoral that Andrew Granger has no interest in helping us find alternative accommodation. Who pays for our moving costs? They do not care. NO serious tenant wants, nor can afford to move so regularly and a serious landlord would not expect them to do so. Your vetting process of us tenants, Andrew Granger, is rigorous, whereas your vetting of the landlords you choose to do business with is highly suspect. You DO have a responsibility to tenants - which you have monumentally failed at, for the sake of a few £’s from what is ostensibly a Slumlord.

The pompous attitude of these agents assumes that as we are only going to be formally given the Section 21 on the 18th December, then they are not making us homeless before Christmas. So you think having a Section 21 seven days (7!) before Christmas is going to be fun for us, Andrew Granger? What planet are you on? This is disgusting.

Furthermore, they are now ignoring requests to fix items in the house and garden that were brought to their attention prior to this devastating (for us) news. (Although a sudden flurry of activity today – for the landlords benefit when they take over the property - is now causing us distress at its sudden and desperate insistence. (i.e. The Housing Act of 1988.) One of these items was requested a year ago. Where were you with the repairs then, Andrew Granger?)

There have been many issues with this property that have never been resolved by Andrew Granger, yet this eviction is, of course, the most egregious. They had the gall to say “We are only the messenger,” but you ARE complicit, by the type of landlord company that you keep, and that you do their bidding. Do you not have basic standards of how to treat people? Or is it simply to do WHATEVER the people giving you the £ tell you, whatever the morals of the situation? I think we have our answer!

I have never dealt with such unscrupulous agents before, and we would not have taken this tenancy on if we knew we were going to be treated with such contempt, and dismissed in such a summary manner by Grangers.

There is so much more I could say about the disgraceful behaviour of Andrew Granger, but I will save that for THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN. These are charlatans with a bottom line (£) mentality and a supercilious attitude to the poorer population.

Please, just DO NOT RENT with these people, no matter what. Our lives – and our health - are being destroyed by them right now.

Terrible company (Market Harborough branch). Super unhelpful and unfriendly whenever I had any issues. Main issue was trying to hold my deposit at the end of the tenancy. The property was incredibly tired when I moved in. Carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 20 years. Considerable wear. The bathrooms were in a poor state. Signs of mould etc. I needed a place to stay urgently though so I just excepted the situation. I also made them aware that I needed to move in quickly but they didn't make any effort to expedite the process. Upon moving out they tried to tried to say that the carpets had marks etc. and wanted to charge me £400. Even the photos they took before I moved in showed heavy wear. Be very wary of this company. Untrustworthy and dishonest. Will never rent through them again.

This company does not have a duty of care! They speak to people very unprofessionally and everything seems to be a problem for them...No hot water for 6 weeks on a rental, mould, leaks...Not a care in the world!

You haven't attempted to repair the boiler at all. You were informed in July that the boiler doesn't work. We will be seeking legal advice.

24th May you were advised that there is a leak, 25th May you were sent pictures of the leak.

The plumber came out and said the tiles were causing it, then he never came out 3 months later he came back and said he had been busy.

21st July you were told again about the second leak, boiler/no hot water and nothing had been done.

Completely Unprofessional Company, having been Chairmen of a property holding company for near 35 years letting both commercial and residential properties out, i have never had such a bad experience of poor customer service, total lack of communication, phone calls NEVER being returned, emails NEVER answered, Sophie on lettings has No idea how to deal with things at all, i am amazed that this company even continues to run. Very Very Poor !

Peter Buckingham and his team helped my parents sell their home in Leicestershire very quickly and at a really good price - higher than we had hoped-for. Their fee was very reasonable too.

They were supportive and really helpful throughout, keeping us updated at every stage. They also found us a removals company at very short notice to help us beat the stamp duty deadline.

This agent discriminate aaginst benifits then accepts them u pay them 1200 before contracts signing because apparently thats how they do things never done that before. They then requested a refrence 7 days before moving in my currently landlord got it mixed up with another tenant and then rectified it with the agent and 5 days before moving day they say not going ahead. After 2 months of the let being agreed. Avoid this company they lie and mislead you the obtain money by diseption

Andrew Granger & Co, in Loughborough, have acted for me on several occasions over the years, and I would highly recommend them: they are flexible, efficient, and friendly - and Natalie was extremely pleasant and helpful in the very recent sale of one of my properties. David runs a good ship, and I wish them all the best of luck.
