Very poor experience with Alpha Car Rentals in Brisbane. After landing, we couldn’t get hold of the shuttle despite multiple calls and ended up waiting around an hour with tired babies and toddlers before paying for taxis ourselves.

Things didn’t improve at the depot — it was disorganised, understaffed, and our cars weren’t ready. Pre-booked car seats (which we paid extra for) were not installed and appeared low quality, with staff unable to properly fit them. This added another long delay while travelling with young kids.

In total, the process added around two hours to our arrival, and we didn’t reach our hotel until late at night with exhausted children. No accountability or offer to reimburse taxi costs.

It’s now been over a month since the rental. I’ve followed up several times and only received one response (17 March) apologising and saying reimbursement would be handled — nothing since.

Very disappointing experience and poor follow-up. Would not recommend.

I had pre-booked my car and insurance and had uploaded my driving license, which was a very straightforward process.
On arrival at the airport, the pickup location for the van to Alpha Car Rentals was easy to find. Two vans arrived quickly and took us to Alpha. The staff were good and fast, and we were very quickly in the car and on our way.
Drop-off was equally good. the car was checked over and cleared and we were soon on our way to the airport.

Absolutely disappointing. We arrived brisbane airport at 8:15 and immediately called them up to arrange a shuttle, a staff told us that they would pick us up within 15 minutes. We waited for one whole hour and no body turned up. We tried calling every single number available but their offices were already closed. My whole family including two kids were stranded at the airport for the entire night because of them!!! Totally disappointing and unprofessional!

Customer service was very friendly and helpful. Shuttle services were quick and the driver went above and beyond. Car was excellent to drive and nice and clean. Only let down is having to install the car seat yourself and only one person serving.

Quick and easy is the best way to describe it.

Frustrating customer service, pissed everybody off, we canceled booking and 4 weeks later still not get refund, was calling the branch over 10 times to confirm the status of the refund, no body can answer. still waiting for the refund now after 6 weeks. good luck, going to lodge case to consumer fare now. just be aware before you book with alpha car hire, in case you change your mind, you will not get you refund.

Super easy booking process, lovely staff and they had me on the road really fast! Drop off was easy too! Very competitive rates, the price was the best I found! Will definitely recommend to anyone who is needing a rental vehicle!

Being an off airport hire car you would think it takes a while to get on your way but that was not our experience. It was quick from the shuttle pick up through to driving off. Staff were friendly and the price was fantastic compared with airport on site companies.

These guys are always on point. Fast efficient and very helpful. This time I even forgot to complete my online booking, 100% my fault . Within minutes they had me in a car and on my way. Superbly handled

I was left stranded by a different car company - I had a booking, but no shuttle and not answering phones. After an hour's wait I asked an Alpha shuttle driver if they had cars available. He made a call and in under a minute I was on board. Despite having no booking, Alpha provided me with the quickest and clearest car hire I've ever done. Friendly, efficient and sympathetic to my situation. The drop off was even easier!

Do not hire from Alpha Car Hire Melbourne (Tullamarine). They sent us an invoice for car damage without providing any evidence of such claims. We had to ask for photos. We then provided them with our own evidence, which they did not respond to. They just kept emailing us invoices for the damage claim. I would not trust this car hire company at all. They do not communicate with their clients and just want to take their money. We have contacted the ACCC regarding their service.

Extremely fast check in and check out process at Tullamarine. Friendly and helpful staff. Only issue was waiting a long time for the shuttle bus from airport as the signage wasn’t clear on shuttle bus.

Easy booking, pick up and drop off process. The front desk staff talk to you in a friendly mannor and not just as a paying customer. The only waiting was for the shuttle bus having to negociate the traffic and road works at Melbourne airport. The overall cost for a 10 day hire with full insurance meeted my budget very well. Have used Alpha Melbourne several times over the years and am yet to encounter an issue. Go Team Alphacarhire Melbourne and thanks, you make my holidays that much easier.

The car is in good condition.

The staff made sure that no extra cost was charged. I thought the side mirror cover was missing, but he showed me in the records that it was already missing when I picked up the car.
Overall, it was a very nice experience.

No hassle or long pick up or drop off process. No need for form filling or waiting for the car to be checked over on drop off - very smooth.

Customer service sells the place , prices are best around & well kept fleet of vehicles

Rental as well as booking process was quick, cheap, intuitive and hassle free. Truck was almost new and in excellent condition. Have rented moving trucks from Alpha Car Hire multiple times and each time have had the same 5 star rental experience. Will definitely use them again in future.

Pick up and drop off was smooth. Staff was helpful and courteous. Condition of the car was not that great, could hear gear shifting noise on low speeds as well as bearing or tire noise on the highway. Overall happy with the rental as we did not run into any problems and managed our trip safely.
