NO Return means NO Exchange
I own 4 different AE dress shoes in size 11. I Purchased all of them in the store. I recently ordered two pair of boat shoes online from AE. They were clearly marked as no return. I ordered one pair in size 11 and another color in size 10 1/2 because I was concerned about possible fit in a casual shoe. In fact, the 11 was too big, even though the AE guide advises to order your regular size. I mistakenly assumed NO Return meant no refund. I now have learned it also means no Exchange. My fault for not checking first. Lesson learned NO MORE ONLINE PURCHASE FROM AE!

Horrible customer service; they will tell you one thing, not do it and never inform the customer. Shipping is not what is advertised nor what the customer service agents inform. It takes days to get an email back and when they do; it's just lies.

Allen Edmonds used to be one of my favorite brands. At the present time, I have multiple pair of their shoes in my closet. My recent experience has to do with their restocking fee of $25.00 and $7.00 shipping fee not credited after return. Their website doesn't clearly disclose this information. The main issue is not having the opportunity to exchange the item for the same item in my size.
Do yourself a favor and do not do business with this company.

HORRIBLE Customer Service
I own 7 pair and will never buy from these clowns again. Allen Edmonds does NOT stand behind their shoes. My $400 McCallisters were defective after 3 months. AE made me ship them to corporate, wait 8 weeks to tell me they were defective.
Their excellent solution? Issue me a credit for less than I can replace the defective shoes. So if I want to replace them it will cost me another $80. Allen Edmonds is an absolute joke for customer service. Never again will I buy from these clowns.

Beyond disappointed with Allen Edmonds…
Beyond disappointed with Allen Edmonds and their lack of concern and care. I was in this store on 11-1 and purchased two pairs of shoes. The salesperson pointed out that one of the pairs was missing a set of shoelaces. She told me they would need to order the entire pair of shoes and ship to me. I asked if she could simply take a pair out of another box and replace those later so I could leave with the shoes that had in store. She told me that she could not do that and they would need to send a new pair of shoes from the warehouse. As crazy as that sounded, I accepted it and was told I would have the shoes that same week. Fast forward to 11-14 still no shoes. They are in FedEx hands with senseless tracking updates. When i called "customer support" last week, i was told if i did not receive by last Friday they could declare them lost and refund my sale. Today when i called i was told it will be 2-4 more days and they will contact me to tell me "what they could do for me". I then called the store, and although the salesperson was much more courteous than their "customer service" person, he still had no power to resolve this issue and grant me the refund. I asked for his district supervisors info and explained how disappointed i am with Allen Edmonds. He was only empowered to offer their first names but was not allowed to give out their contact info. This type of lack of service and concern is what i would expect from a big box retailer or online company, but not a company like Allen Edmonds. At this point i was instructed to wait until they contact me to tell me "what they can do for me". The simple answer should have been available over a week ago, refund my money and apologize for the ridiculous runaround
New shoes and the color just wiped off
I ordered a pair of 5th Avenue factory seconds in dark chili. Shipping was very fast. Upon receiving them, I did the same as I do with all new high quality leather shoes. I applied Saphir Renovateur to them to condition them. Well, to my surprise, the color started rubbing off as I was applying it. I stopped and wiped off any excess and waited for it to dry. After it dried, I used a horsehair brush to remove the conditioner. That left lines in it from the color coming off. I emailed customer service and they told me that it was basically my fault for putting Saphir Renovateur on them. Well, I didn't have this problem with both shoes. Only one of them. Seems very strange to me. I wasn't asking for a refund. I like the shoes. All I asked for was for them to be fixed. Yes, they are factory seconds but I can't imagine how the color wiping off could be acceptable. Not only that but customer service told me that it's my fault.

The ordering and delivery went off without a hitch. The sizing was as expected. the only issue is that the description of the shoe indocated it was leather lined but it is not leather lined. The only lining is in the heel. The rest of the shoe is just the back ot the outer leather. Seemed like a lot of money for an unlined shoe. Also I bought l these a few days before the sale and now I have overpaid by about $100.
Next time I will wait for the sale.

I read a lot of negative reviews but my experience was the opposite. I ended up purchasing 6 pairs over the last few months and they are all excellent. I had one return due to fit and received credit back very promptly. I will purchase from them again

If you want Allen Edmonds, do not order direct.
I placed an order from Allen Edmonds but an item on the order was missing so they removed it. They did not, however remove the additional cost of shipping a second pair nor did they properly adjust the taxes involved in shipping the boots to the UK. Not only that but they were advertised as 11.5US which should have been a 10.5UK but they fit like a 12/12.5UK. I tried to rectify the situation with Allen Edmonds and email after email they just seemed to get more and more confused to the point I felt it best to go though Paypal. In the end Paypal sided with them and nothing happened. If you are still wanting to buy a pair of Allen Edmonds then DO NOT buy direct, go through a different retailer instead. It would be worth your while.

I made an order and then because FedEx damaged the box they sent it back and decided to not fill the order. But they still made sure to charge me over $400. On top of that they did not communicate anything with me, I had to figure it out on my own after I waited and waited for my shoes.
I ordered shoes because I needed them. Allen Edmonds took my money but did not give me what I ordered, that is ridiculous. At the very least the order should have been refilled and the shoes sent immediately!

I have been a customer for 20 years & they really have gone in the basement & today I learned that they charged my account $873.50 & I haven't purchased anything from them in 2 months. Last purchase was a simple wallet that I received 2 of them 2 months after ordering & then I had to take extra steps to send back. They told today to contact my bank??? I am telling all my clients (500 a year+), friends & family do not use this company for any reason.

I have been purchasing Allen Edmonds shoes for over 30 years. While the company has evolved from a family owned business to publicly traded under a large conglomerate, the shoes have stood the test of time. I just visited their store in Polaris Fashion Center (Columbus) and received 5-star service from James Dunn. I planned on buying 2 new pairs of shoes for a workplace trending more casual these days. Because of James, I instead purchased 4 pairs of shoes and 3 belts. I am glad I visited my local store since my shoe size has in fact changed a bit - it happens as you get older. Don’t pay attention to the low star, uninformed reviews here. Go try on a pair. You will not be disappointed if you want a higher quality shoe (that yes, is more expensive than mass produced cookie cutter shoes).

I will never buy anything from Allen Edmonds online again. It has been awhile since I bought dress shoes so I did not know what the correct sizing for my feet were or if the current sizing I had would translate to Allen Edmonds. I read online about their "great" customer service so I took a plunge and bought a pair of shoe that was on promotional pricing. As expected this shoe was too large. I called in and asked what the exchange process was. I was assured that the exchange process or rather than return-and-buy-another is a straight forward process commonly done by others. They could transfer to promotional discount once I had the new order number. I would get the return process once Allen Edmonds receives the returned pair of shoes within 2-10 business days. So far so good. This is where things just go downhill. 10 days passed and I had to proactively reach out to Allen Edmonds customer support (no online chat). They then processed the return formally with an email acknowledgement this time and the same 2-10 business days. 10 days later, I get an email informing me that their entire refund processing backend is malfunctioning and that I can either get an e-giftcard or a check. Of course, I don't want an e-giftcard after nearly 2 months of hassle with what was claimed to be a "straight forward and common" process. Unfortunately, I was offer a check which at best could arrive in 2-3 weeks. I requested this to be expedited given the 2 months of annoyances this process had caused me or some form of additional compensation. All were denied.
In the age of Amazon, you would think your customer service would be on point and considerate of the customer's time. If a business messes up, it should be more proactive about it rather than having the customer constantly reach out via phone no less especially if you are charging a premium of $300+ per pair of shoes. If you must buy from Allen Edmonds, I would highly recommend visiting their store or knowing your size before buying to avoid dealing with an entirely incompetent web front.
