Efficient reliable service produced a detailed report. Quick response. Worth the money.

I had to wait slightly longer for the appointment than expected but the report arrived sooner than expected. The Level 2 report was clear and thorough. It was well laid out with good explanations and covered all expected areas.

I had one question which was answered quickly and concisely.

While the initial communications, the survey and the report were satisfactory there was no response to numerous emails and telephone calls relating to clarifications and further details.

Quite disappointing experience. For a service that costs almost £1k called Full Structural Survey, we were expecting some in-depth insights about the property. Instead of we got a basic report that included phrases like:
"the water appears to have been turned off" "The internal stopcock we believe is under the kitchen sink", and no attempt of turning the water on was made to do even basic check of the installation.
The surveyor ignored additional questions that we had, and our request for additional (in our view reasonable and expected) checks were point blank refused.
It's literally someone having a 1h (at most) walk in the property, looking at what's clearly visible, with no additional equipment, making comments that give 0 additional insights into the state of the property. I would be curious to see what level 2 or 1 survey of the same building would be, because it's hard to imagine what less information could have been given.

Allcott Associates completed a RICS Level 3 Home Survey on a Grade II listed Regency house. We were impressed by the quality of the report, and levels of details provided. We appreciated the expertise demonstrated in relation to a property of that age. The surveyor then took the time to answer our questions and provide additional context. Thanks!

Quick and simple to book, only waiting a week for someone to come out. Great explanation to me has to what will happen and how long it will take to get the report. Lots of communication via email to let me know where things are with the report.

Contacted company regarding a foundation survey, receptionist kept going on about a valuation??? Then stated they don’t cover the area even tho website clearly states they cover Devon Somerset and even Exeter impression they give is they couldn’t care less if that’s how they are with people looking for a service I dread to think what they will be like actually carrying out the work and for that I really would advise to avoid

Update after their reply, no mention was made to trial hole foundation surgery as actually after non invasive foundation survey, also as for the comment of not covering Exeter I’ll take that as admittance of false advertisement as website clearly states covering Exeter, also I wasn’t actually rude at all that would of been your female staff answering phones, with the blatant lies in reply along with reading other reviews i would lower the star rating more but that’s not possible, seriously people look at their reviews they can not carry out surveys correctly missing obvious and severe issues and customer service is just shocking blatantly a case of money money money AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

Update number two still denying they cover Exeter yet all over there website they do cover it, also in response to me going out of my way to post negative review not at all I believe people should post genuine reviews good or bad as the public have a right to know good and bad companies and know who to avoid!! The phone call to yourselves enquiring about a survey is all I needed to know to avoid you like the plaque and your responses just go to show that even more again the only people who need to learn manners is your staff just look at the other reviews people!!

Fast and efficient service. Did a lot of the admin behind the scenes i.e. with Estate agent and solicitor. Made dealing with them really easy.

Would NOT recommend!
Allcott did a level 3 survey for us in August 2024, and completely missed rising damp on 3 of our living room walls. We're now faced with a bill of £5,000 to rectify this.
Tried to go via the ombudsman, but made an error in presenting our evidence so unfortunately Allcott has got away with it.
The surveyors were very patronising over email, and made no effort to rectify their mistakes.
I've since spoken to another customer of Allcott's who's had a similar experience, so this is a reoccurring theme!
Look elsewhere for a more reliable company. Do not use Allcott!
