It’s a shame I cannot give Albatross cars a zero. Such poor customer service. Booked 2 weeks ago, rang twice beforehand to confirm all okay and checked with outward driver that return journey okay and they still cancelled the return. Then blatantly lied to me over the phone. How these are still in business is beyond me! Avoid avoid avoid.

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I booked a Taxi on Sunday to take me to the Train Station on Monday for 08:15 leaving 1 hour 15 mins to travel to the station.
On Monday morning I phoned at 08:15 to say I’ve no notification re my taxi. The rude operator said it won’t be coming because of the bad weather and they are busy. After a further two more calls and being the taxi is on its way it final turned up at 08:45 to late for me to catch my train and Ieaving me a 2.5 hour wait for the next train on a cold wet station.
When I phoned to complain I was told a Manager would call me well 3 days later and I’m still waiting.
I have been a loyal regular customer to Albatros Cars but this was the final straw I won’t use them again.

I booked an Albatross cab home last night. When the driver picked me up from town I specifically asked before I got into the cab could I pay with my card and was told yes.
Halfway home the driver asked for me to pay via Apple Pay, I explained I was paying by card as discussed. He then preceeded to say his card machine was 'playing up' so I needed to pay with Apple Pay. I do not have an apple phone and told the driver if his card machine was playing up then he should have told me this before I got into the car when I asked specifically could I pay by card and we now had a problem as my only means was to pay with my card as agreed. Miraculously his card machine worked perfectly when we got to my house. This was an underhand way by the driver to get a fair but try to avoid paying the charges from the card company if the price is under a certain value.
Please be aware of these tactics used by certain cab drivers.

Fortunately, I don’t use taxis very often but if I did, I certainly wouldn’t choose this company based on my interaction with one of their drivers at Derby Rail Station yesterday. As he was dropping a passenger off, he threw a handful of used tissues out of his door onto the ground. When challenged, he became very abusive, claiming it wasn’t his rubbish. I have a clip of the incident from my dash cam, which he chose not to review! He drove off still shouting abusive comments. Not the standard of behaviour you would expect from a professional company.

Reliable service and friendly drivers well done

I booked Albatross cars from Derby to Manchester Airport and the return journey 2 weeks later. When placing the booking I advised of 6 adults, each with a 23kg case and 10kg hand luggage.
The journey to the airport went ahead without a problem, Albatross provided a Volkswagen Transporter which provided sufficient room for 6 adults and the confirmed luggage. The return journey however did not meet our needs. Albatross provided a Hackney taxi ! Whilst this seater 6 people the luggage space was wholly insufficient and was not fit for purpose. We did not expect to have bags on our knees, cases under seats leaving no leg room for our journey home of over an hour and a half.
When I raised this with Albatross they advised ‘firstly I would like to apologies for the poor service you received. We acknowledge that we failed you this time by not providing the correct vehicle type booked by yourself resulting in luggage not being able to fit in the boot space. As a good will gesture we would like to offer a £5 promotion code’
As you can imagine I was disgusted by their response, and advised I would not be accepting this to be further informed that as their drivers are self - employed they could not refund me from their earnings. I had no wish to be refunded from the drivers earning advising Albatross that my contract was with them. I was then offered compensation via their App, discounted journeys. I have no wish to use their service in the future.
Moral of the story, be mindful when booking airport transport with Albatross cars !

Albatross taxi - last night we had a taxi. Which we do not do very often as I usually drive. The driver collected us from a family birthday party at the Vernon Arms Spondon to take us to Alvaston. We had our Grandaughter with us. As we approached the island that leads to asda and the city centre on the A52, I said Raynesway please. He carried on down the A52 into town, then he drove up through pride park, he then looked like he was going to drive up Ascot drive. We stopped him and said no turn left please into Alvaston. We then, directed him. My Husband asked him, why have you driven all of the way round, you should have just gone down Raynesway as we live not far from the Blue Peter. Fuming 😡😡 when we got in, I called Albatross to complain, they could not understand why he did it either, and they would be speaking to him. He should be reported, it must have been a quiet night, so he tried to make as much money off us. They are sending us a 20% promo code but this isn't fair on the other driver. Poor customer service last night. Rant over 😡😡

Will never use again! Pre booked and paid for a taxi to pick us up from a concert in notts! Only to have it cancelled half and hour before it was due to collect us!! Absolutely disgusting!!! Will never use again!!’

Arranged 7 trips with Albatross Taxi while I was at home in USA. Every trip we requested the same driver Zaharia Khan after he picked us up at Heathrow. So far we have completed 5 long (each over 2 hrs) journeys and as my daughter said Zabar has added to our vacation.Always on time, car clean and pleasant intelligent conversation , I’m looking forward to my next 3hour trip to Kidderminster from the Derbyshire peak district

Just seen one of the drivers helping an old lady walk into the victory club. The driver was such a nice man, he took his time to help the old lady who's a regular at the club. When I asked him do you get paid for this he just said no but it helps me become a better person. The driver needs an award for his kind behaviour. Don't know his name but he had a white skoda, think it was a 2014 car. Thanks again driver

pre booked a taxi via the app to pick me and a friend up in the early hours of the morning, got a notification saying the trip has been cancelled 15 minutes before it was due to come. called up to ask about it and was ransomed an extra £25 booking fee! don’t waste your time, so unreliable and left me and a friends stranded in town at 4am.

If I could give zero stars I would absolutely disgusting service pre booked taxi the evening before on the app! And taxi was over 45 minutes late when calling the base they were absolutely no help and kept informing me I was priority and the taxi wouldn’t be long in the mean time whilst waiting on the front for the taxi 2 empty Albertros taxis drove past with no passengers priority my Ass!! Will not be using again very unreliable and poor customer service! Now extremely

My wife and I were staying in a hotel in Derby for 2 nights as we were going on a day outing on the train. Booked taxi transfer on the Albatross ap and got a message that driver had arrived. No sign of him. Phone call to driver- he had gone to a location about a quarter mile away. Turned up a bit later and got us to the station ok.
On returning late evening, again ordered a taxi via the ap, taxi arrived very quickly. After some time into the journey the driver stopped and asked us where we were going, odd because the display in front of him had the hotel name and postcode together with the cost so far. Driver said sorry he had mistakenly taken us to the wrong place but wouldn’t charge us to go back to the hotel which he had passed and pressed a button on the meter which we assumed had logged the current cost. However the price continued to clock up adding another 50% to the reading. After arriving at the correct destination, my phone later advised me that the full amount shown on the meter had been taken from my credit card!
For both drivers not to be able to come to our hotel when it clearly showed on their car display is not acceptable. Mistakes happen and are not a problem, but after making a mistake coming back and then charge us, the customer, to put it right after saying that we wouldn’t be, is dishonest and reprehensible. Have cancelled my account and deleted the ap from my phone, won’t use them again.

If I could give no stars I would. Consistently over 30 minutes before the fare being allocated. Feedback given direct to the company, no improvement. Has gone downhill in the last few months.

Good, reliable service from a company which is good value and clean cars with polite, friendly drivers
