What an absolute joke, I was meant to start the HE Law course in September 2025, applied for it in May 2025, was then told the course was full, and would be transferred to the February intake and my s... Vis mer

Activate Learning is a forward-thinking education group that aims for far-reaching, progressive change and impact through learning. We work with students as individuals, helping them make the choice of career pathway or course that’s right for them and their ambitions. We recognise every student has a different story; people come to college having had different experiences. We want to capitalise on these and help them grow by building effective relationships, as we know that how you feel about learning is just as important as what you learn. We combine our expertise in delivering technical, vocational and academic education, with our high level of industry engagement and connections to some of the best-known companies—not just in our region, but in the world—to provide learners with a complete educational experience where they feel supported and confident in their abilities and inspired by the opportunities available to them. Through doing so, we provide work-ready talent for business, and transform lives through our Learning Philosophy

5 stars at activate learning
In the 2020/21 academic year I undertook an access course along with retaking Maths and English GCSEs as an adult learner. The engagement from the teachers was outstanding throughout the entire year, even during all of the disruption caused by the pandemic.
One teacher in particular paid so much attention to students that they identified I may have a learning disability. A 5 hour assesment later showed that I have Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and suspected ADHD - a bit of a shock at 27 years old. My life will forever be different moving forward having finished my first year of university with a 2:1 average which is something I'd have never thought possible. The access courses at this college truly help set you up for higher education if you're willing to engage with the course material.
The teachers at Activate Learning went above and beyond what they needed to by staying later and offering extra sessions to students who needed additional support. If you put in the work, you will reap the rewards at activate learning.
Total waste of time
Total waste of time. Applied for two courses, sent numerous emails never had any contact.
Amazing opportunity
Activate Learning have been amazing! I am retaking my GCSEs as an adult due to not being able to take them as a teenager due to serious anxiety and lack of self-belief.
Activate Learning have enabled me to do a 1 year online course for both Maths and English GCSE and as I approach my exams this and next month I have so much confidence in my ability thanks to the team. With the training and support from all involved with the course I now have the knowledge resurrected too!
20 years after I should have passed with flying colours, I have now been given another opportunity, thanks to Activate Learning!
The online course structure is fab, very interactive and gives lots of different ways to further study yourself in between. It also fits really well around full time work, being a wife and mum of 2 young kids.
My experience with Activate Learning…
My experience with Activate Learning has been amazing from start to finish! I took the online Access to Nursing & Midwifery course. The tutors have all been really supportive and helpful throughout, replying to emails quickly and even available over the phone. The webinars for each unit were really helpful and available to watch back if you were busy at the time, making this course really good to work around family and work. Thank you activate learning for my experience and getting me the grades I needed to get into university.
Rubbish college! AVOID !!!
Rubbish college!! Avoid! Directors of the college are so mean. They do not care about their students one single bit! They only care about their most senior staff and they have left me with depression for life which will haunt me for the rest of my life. They generally do not care about mental health. College tutors and directors never find a resolution to solve students problem. As I said, AVOID Banbury and Oxford Activate learning college! These are beyond some of the worst colleges ever in regards to mental health and awareness. Student support team are beyond useless, do not listen to you and instead of trying to resolve an issue, they make it worse by trying to blame things on you. Directors of college never listen to students. As I said, AVOID!!
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Unprofessional, bullying and racist culture. Avoid. Avoid Avoid
Withdrawn for no good reason
I recently enrolled in this college..hair and beauty level 1…I started on the 6th it’s now the 16th and I’ve been told I’m being withdrawn because there is no room as they have 35 people in there and since I’m a mature student (26) that needs to work on her confidence (I have severe anxiety and depression) they have let me go and told me to apply for next year instead. They suggested I get work in a salon before I re apply for next year. Im absolutely mortified that they even let me start the tutor even said there were girls that she knew are not going to finish the hairdressing..sooooo I don’t understand why I got booted when I really would have seen the course through!.. to withdraw me Because im old and have very little confidence.. Absolutely disgusted I wouldn’t ever go back to this place. I wouldn’t recommend for anybody!
Think carefully before choosing
I would seriously consider every other educational provider before I sent my child to this establishment. We were on our own trying to fight an appeal of a vindictive failed qualification and all the management were interested in was protecting their own reputation and covering up for the tutor who seemed to disappear after a complaint from us after taking cash from students without receipts. I have since come across more and more people let down by this so called educator. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Let down so badly
Let down so badly. Last year I applied to study an access course. Even applied for student finance, was sent an email with student log in details and links to assignments and course materials. Bear in mind I am a busy mum of two with not much time to waste. I ended up writing two 1 000 plus word essay assignments. Was then informed that with quarantine ending that classroom lectures would start but was not told what date to come in so I rang the helpline. Was then told after 1 month of 'remote learning' that the course was fully subscribed, and I never was on the list, and that I didn't even hold the right qualifications for it. Was then passed onto a staff member who wasn't interested in enrolling me in any other courses. it made for a pretty depressing start to the second lockdown.
They don’t reply to your email queries…
They don’t reply to your email queries especially if they’re important. Worst customer service I’ve ever had.
Unprofessional education provider
My son has been to the Oxford college campus for two years and been on two different courses, in that time the entire staff have proven themselves to be totally unreliable, unprofessional, contravened data protection by discussing personal family information with another student, the teachers are lazy and clueless with a seemingly low regard to even turn up on occasions.
With certain inside information I know without doubt this organisation runs their colleges and schools as a business first and an education provider second so their priority is the bottom line profit over the students educational needs and requirements.
I would to think this was an isolated incident at this location but my daughter had severe bullying issues both physical and emotional at The Bicester School where we removed her from that school twice due to their total inability to deal with the issue satisfactorily and we knew they could not guarantee the safety of our child.
A totally shocking organisation that we have had the misfortune to deal with for the last few years, never again will a child of ours step across their threshold
Course advertised is entirely different…
Course advertised is entirely different from what is being taught in classes. No support available if you struggle in course work.
Absolutely unreliable with no sense of responsibility.
Very poor communication to potential customer and absolutely no sense/culture of responsibility or accountability in this organisation. I tried to apply and enroll on a course by a local college who are part of Activate Learning now. Filled in online application 2 months in advance, received 2 confimation emails stating that Activate Learning will be in touch. Few weeks before the course date got another email requesting to contact Activate Learning to settle the payment for the course. When I called I was told by Activate Learning that my name is not on the list, course is fully booked and there is nothing they can do. Nobody could provide any explanation what had gone wrong, neither they were willing to try to help. I also raised a Complaint on Activate Learning website and few weeks later still have not heard anything. When calling Activate Learning, the recorded greeting message on phone states that Activate Learning is commited to provide outstanding customer experience or something similar along those lines. Nowhere near in my case.
I had to contact the college directly and the staff there were willing to look into problem and found a solution.
