Veterans, Think Twice Before Choosing WSU’s Online MBA
If you’re a veteran considering Washington State University’s Online MBA program, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. While WSU markets itself as veteran-friendly, my experience tells a very different story.
Despite maintaining strong academic performance and actively participating in the program, I was denied a study abroad opportunity—my final chance before graduation—based on vague and misleading claims. The justification? A few minor instances where I was unable to attend events due to illness or injury. I spoke directly with an MBA program director, who made it sound like the issue was easily resolvable. Instead, I was blindsided by an outright rejection with no opportunity to clarify or appeal.
The level of hypersensitivity and bureaucracy here is staggering. Rather than working with students—especially veterans, who often have different needs—they take a “zero tolerance” approach to even the most minor issues. If you’re looking for a program that values transparency, fairness, and respect for students with real-world experience, WSU is not it.
If you’re a veteran looking for a school that truly supports you, steer clear of WSU’s Online MBA. There are far better programs out there that won’t treat you like a liability for things beyond your control.
