I had a very bad experience here
I had a extremely bad experience here, that just gets worse. They had looked at my car from when someone tried to steal it they quoted $245 on replacing the window. I opted not to do that there as I had two other quotes at glass places for $150 parts and labor. They were to replace the windshield wiper switch that was broken and re-install the old shroud, their guy looked at it, we talked about and discussed everything and we agreed the old shroud could be re-used, it would not be as flush at that one tiny part where it was broken, but would be fine and could be re-used. I had an issue with my AC prior to this that was either the blower motor resistor or something in the switch. As the blower motor was working fine. I was getting it charged with freon, because it had needed that since I replaced the engine and that is why. I was aware of this prior to coming here. When they brought my car out, the steering wheel column shroud was in the floorboard. I paid labor for it to be re-installed, they at no point ever came out and said they could not re-use the shroud, they said NOTHING and left if laying in my floorboard as a FU. That is not a courtesy to a customer, to not finish things the labor is paid for on and not discuss anything with them, because additional parts if you could not re-use it are about 60 - 70 dollars, labor was paid, did they discuss this with me while I was waiting on my car? NO, NOT a mention of this. The blower motor resistor does NOT look new, the tape job does not look new at all, the electrical connector looks a tad melted to me, it must at least have a new tape job to have been replaced. it has 4J15 on it, indicates it was manufactured 10/15/24, or 10/15/14 or 2004. Thinking 2014 the tape job looks that old, the part is highly scuffed. Could be wrong, but doubt it. They then said I need a new blower motor it is weak. It is not weak, it is blowing air as it should be only on some speeds. it is the resistor or something in the switch. In fact it cools my car as is and the shroud was the important thing to be taken care of. Not doing that today you can quote it. They wanted me to wait until then to have the freon re-charged, the blower motor does NOT effect the freon and you do NOT need a freon re-charge if it replaced, no please do that today. They quoted $895 to replace a blower motor on a 2010 Kia Forte EX, the parts oem are $150, they were charging $233, okay you get some markup, the labor on this is like 30 minutes to an hour and it is highly accessible on my car. $662 for an hour labor at the most is unacceptable. I was NEVER coming back. I knew the blower motor was NOT weak and was fine. They brought my car out and the shroud was laying in the floorboard, basically they did not finish the job, because I declined additional work on AC, but I had paid the labor on that it must be re-installed when you do the windshield wiper switch, they said it could be re-used. The screw mounts are not damaged, this is attached with a combination of screws and clips, it is not cracked at all, the one tiny part by the light switch broken we had discussed and it could be re-used. Even if not why leave it in the floorboard, when labor was paid for that and NOT say anything, NOT a courtesy a FU. I complained, they taped it on and brought my car back out, it should be attached with clips and screws. Why would a AC that works, just not on all speeds be more important than the shroud? I have an appointment at a dealership and another automotive shop to document this and make sure I am correct on the blower motor resistor, will be seeking a full refund on the blower motor resistor parts & labor and a partial refund on the labor for the shroud if it proves I am correct and file complaints. I was NEVER offered a $75 dollar good will anything. There were no courtesies to me as a customer. I had opted to stay there while my car was being worked on and wait. I did not come back to get it. I questioned if they really replaced the resistor the manager did not offer to show me the new part on the car at all. I have NEVER been treated this badly by a shop, the man had attitude because I was a woman, they did not complete the paid for jobs with good workmanship, because I declined additional work on the AC. I requested an itemized receipt by phone the one I have is vague and does not state part numbers. Yet to receive that, this is NOT transparency at all. NOT good service the worst experience my life. Hey, I would have paid the 60 or 70 for the upper and lower part of the shroud, since I had already paid labor, did they suggest that NO, they left it in the floorboard as an FU. It and the switch were the most important things to be done. It is their loss. I do need good service and will spend money where I am treated right, this was a NIGHTMARE. The manager is not helpful, no good will $75 dollar was ever offered. The shroud in the floorboard is NOT a courtesy to a customer, it an FU.
