Gilbert, Winfield Wine's owner and chief presenter, has worked in wine throughout his career, for a long time in France and Italy, and briefly in South Africa. He holds the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 4 Diploma, and is also an Approved Rhone Wine Educator, a member of the Association of Wine Educators, the Circle of Wine Writers, and a judge on the International Wine Challenge. Since returning to England, Gilbert spends his time educating people on wine. With his relaxed, humorous style, he makes wine accessible and enjoyable. His main goal is to pull down the barriers to the traditional wine world, and share his passion and knowledge. Whether you are a at the beginning of your wine journey, or a long-standing wine buff, our wine events are there for anyone who wants to learn about wine in a fun way. Life is too short to drink bad wine!

Fun!
We had such a fun and interesting evening with Gilbert and the other guests. It was a a lovely group, not too big or small and great wine and food! Definitely come hungry, there is enough food for everyone!! Would definitely recommend and will be keeping an eye out for other wine tastings with Winfield Wine.

Gilbert was professional and enthusiastic, we not only learnt about the wines but also had a great laugh all evening! It was very sociable and fun!

A really fascinating day and a great…
A really fascinating day and a great way to understand so much more about wines. If like me you know what you like when you drink wine but not much more than that, this is a great entry in to the world of wines! Gilbert is a font of knowledge and an entertainer. Great day out.

Fantastic Wine Tasting!
We had a fantastic time at our recent wine tasting. The day was structured well and we had a delicious meal, with wine pairings, too!
Gilbert was a fantastic host and has exceptional knowledge, answering everyone's questions in depth. The whole group had a great time and we learnt a lot!
We will definitely look to do another wine tasting soon and would highly recommend!

Great to be able to learn & enjoy many different international wines …
We thoroughly enjoyed the way in which Gilbert structured our day’s Wine Tasting experience.
We had plenty of time to ask questions, discuss the many International wines throughout the day and feel that we took away very useful knowledge for the future. It was a really good idea to enjoy a 3 course meal with Gilbert’s wine choices.
All of us agreed it had been a great day … cheers.
