Terrible experience - still waiting for a call back!
We paid quickly for a screen repair on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, but as soon as the phone was returned it started overheating and was not responding normally. I reported this immediately.
Joe was away at the time, and when he returned we brought the phone back. He advised that the screen fitted was faulty and said he would order a replacement. The first screen arrived within two days, but the second replacement took over two weeks.
During this time, the phone continued to overheat and switch itself off. I repeatedly raised these concerns, but responses often took several days.
The phone case that previously fitted perfectly no longer fit after the repair. The screen then cracked because it was clearly much thicker than the original.
I eventually took the phone to Apple, where three separate staff members immediately said the screen should never have been fitted, as it was completely different and far too thick for the phone and that caused the crack. We contacted Joe who said it doesn’t cover under his terms and conditions. I have also asked for them and still not given!
Overall, this was a frustrating experience with poor communication, long delays, and ultimately an incorrect repair that caused further damage. Also note that Apple was only £60 more.
We have also called, emailed and further messaged Joe with no answer at all.
Thanks for coming back to us. But you are just trying to put the blame on us. Our phone had no problem before at all even with the cracked screen with overheating or switching off. Only happened after you fixed the faulty screen. You have also not answered the fact that we have tried to call and email you - no response your good at hiding behind everything, took our money straight away but had to wait for two weeks for you to get a replacement screen not good enough!

To address the points raised:
The replacement screen was fitted and the device returned in full working order. When overheating and responsiveness issues were later reported, the phone was brought back in, inspected, and the screen showed signs of being faulty. A replacement part was ordered immediately but faced typical supply delays for iPhone 16 Pro Max compatible panels.
Overheating and shutdowns are commonly reported across iPhone 16 series devices (including those with original Apple screens) and are often attributed to software processes, battery management or other environmental factors.
Many aftermarket replacement screens use slightly thicker assemblies (typically 0.1 - 0.2mm more than Apple’s original OLED) this is a standard characteristic in the repair industry. However, this difference does not cause spontaneous cracking or structural failure.
The crack in the bottom right corner, accompanied by LCD bleeding and display lines, is consistent with physical impact damage (such as a drop), not a result of screen thickness.
We offered to replace the screen under warranty (covering manufacturing defects in the part itself), but the subsequent physical damage to the screen means it cannot be returned to the supplier for credit and falls outside warranty coverage. This is standard for third party repairs and is outlined in our Terms of Service.

Really disappointed with the service we…
Really disappointed with the service we received and wouldn’t use them again sadly. The idea was great and there’s a great system for dropping equipment off. The phone screen repair failed very quickly and Joe responded once to say he may not repair it under the warranty I had been assured of and when I said I felt this was unfair, he ignored me and I couldn’t arrange for the phone to be dropped off for assessment or a refund. I was left over £100 out of pocket for the repair and had to buy a new phone

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been left feeling this way, that’s never the experience we want for our customers.
Just to clarify a couple of points for accuracy:
• When you first contacted me about the issue, I immediately asked you to drop the phone back so I could inspect it.
• You then specifically asked me to confirm in advance that the repair would definitely be covered under warranty, before you had returned the phone.
• I explained (in my second reply the same day) that I could not give a warranty confirmation without first checking the screen for any signs of physical damage or impact, as our warranty does not cover customer induced damage only manufacturing/part defects.
• After that message, the phone was never returned for assessment.
Unfortunately, without the handset being brought back, I was unable to verify the cause of the failure or proceed with a warranty repair or refund.
For the record: had the phone been returned and the fault been due to a part or workmanship issue (and not physical damage), it would of course have been covered under the warranty you were given at the time of repair.
If you still have the phone and wish to drop it in now, I’m still happy to inspect it and deal with it under the original warranty terms.
