Great concept, questionable quality and service
Love this concept, so when I stumbled across them in my local Tesco Extra while shopping for supplies for a BBQ, it was almost like fate!
I ended up hiring a patio heater and some outdoor lighting then and there. I had a long chat with the staff about the business and about how it’s a good idea etc. I was told how they have their own electric vans, so they’re environmentally friendly.
I later added a Giant Garden Connect 4 game and a 15m outdoor extension cable to my order.
The night before delivery I was emailed confirmation of delivery time and what I’d ordered, and the things I’d added on later were missing. After a few WhatsApp messages to and fro (which is a great way to communicate with customers in my view) they were able to send me an updated confirmation. When the delivery came, the Connect 4 was missing and the driver said it wasn’t on the order. Turns out it was, and he had it in the van anyway, and he explained how they have two systems which had different information.
The van he was using was a hired Enterprise diesel van, not a WhyBuy electric one like I was told.
The Connect 4 had four of the discs missing and the patio heater was faulty - it turned on but wasn’t height adjustable and we had to use lots of gaffer tape to keep the head facing up/out rather than at the floor.
The garden lights were fine but not amazing, and the extension lead was for the lights, so all in all the order was a waste of money.
The driver they sent to collect the order was earlier than the time of asked for, but thankfully I’d got organised and already moved it to my front door, so it wasn’t too inconvenient. Again, a non-electric Enterprise Van was used.
When I complained on WhatsApp about the Connect 4 (before I knew the heater was faulty) I was offered an insignificant 10% off my next order. I asked for a partial refund which was refused. I will not be ordering from them again.
