Thank you for choosing webuyanycar.com to sell your vehicle, and for coming into our Leesburg branch to complete the sale. A three-star rating tells us the team who looked after you there fell short of the five-star service we set out to provide on every appointment, and we are sorry for that.

Our online valuation is an estimate presented in good faith, based on the information provided by the customer. The offer that follows is set against the verified condition of the vehicle.

Our professional, in-person appraisal identified 16 physical and mechanical issues that were not reflected in the online estimate, including:

- Paint peeled away from the roof panel, exposing extensive rust
- Damage to both front seats, one requiring replacement
- A cracked front bumper, dents to both rear doors, an inoperable power lift gate, and four aftermarket alloy wheels

You did tell us about oxidation on the hood at the valuation stage. What our buyer found was paint lifting clean away from both the hood and the roof, down to bare rusted metal underneath, which is why a complete repaint of the vehicle sits on the appraisal as the only remedy.

The check engine light and a further warning light on the dash were both illuminated, and our OBD-II diagnostic scan revealed 13 active fault codes, including:

- P0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
- P0171: System too Lean (Bank 1)
- P0420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
- P0326: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)

Taken together, that was a lot working against an older vehicle carrying high mileage, and none of it is what we would have wanted to find. We ask every customer to stand with our buyer through the appraisal so they can see what we see, item by item, because condition moves a valuation more than anything else does.

Given everything we found, we are glad we were able to get to a figure you felt able to accept, and we are sorry that the service our team gave you on the day is not something you would speak well of. We would like to know what more we could have done for you in the circumstances, so we have escalated this to the Area Manager responsible for the team in Leesburg, who is investigating and will be reaching out to you directly to follow it up. A five-star experience is what you were owed, and we intend to put that right with you.

Hi Allan,

Thank you for setting this out so plainly. When our buyer came out to your home on Monday evening you should have come away feeling well looked after, and instead you are left feeling let down. That is a long way from the five-star service we set out to give at every appointment, and I am sorry.

The documentation fee was disclosed on our website and in the valuation email you received, but it should have also been explained to you properly on the day. That means what we were paying for the truck, what the fee was and what your check would come to, all set out clearly before you were asked to accept or reject anything. It was not, and that was human error by one of our people rather than anything you did or missed. It has been escalated to their manager and is being dealt with.

A formal complaint is logged, and the Area Manager responsible for our Orlando team is investigating what happened at your appointment. Two of us called you today, and my door is open on top of that: I would really like to know what our team should have done differently that evening, and whether there is anything we can do now to put it right. We are committed to that, and to giving you the five-star experience this should have been.
