We were led to believe…
We were led to believe (talking to branch manager by phone and in person) that the value on the online estimator would be in the ballpark of what they offered . this was not even close. Offer was less than half. We feel this was misleading in our case.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your experience, we’re sorry to hear you felt misled. Please know this is not our intention and our leadership team are eager to investigate and address your concerns.
We record all calls for quality and training purposes, and we will happily pull the recordings to ensure we set the proper expectations, anything less than complete transparency is not typical of a standard webuyanycar.com appointment. Our Branch Manager should have informed you that our online valuation is not a firm offer, and like any other reputable buyer, we need to perform a physical appraisal to confirm the vehicle’s reported condition.
We take detailed notes, photos and videos of every vehicle we inspect. I see in the notes that during your appointment, when we ran the vehicle’s VIN number, it decoded as a different trim level than what was reported online. This unfortunately negatively impacted our starting valuation.
Additionally, our branch manager noted the check engine light illuminated and the presence of belt/engine noise. When we hooked up an industry standard OBD 2 reader to the vehicle’s onboard computer it returned a couple of codes which we were previously unaware of and had to take into consideration when making our firm offer. I have included them below for complete transparency.
P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
P0456 - Evaporative Emissions System Small Leak Detected
While there was damage reported during the online valuation completed on 05/22/25, the reported damage related to rust, and the reconditioning concerns I noted above were not part of that. Once we discovered these issues, we had to take them into account. Now if you disclosed further information by phone prior to your appointment, we should have set proper expectations. Furthermore, you should have been invited to join our Branch Manager as he or she completed your vehicle’s physical appraisal.
If we dropped the ball and didn’t communicate clearly, we will absolutely do what we can to make that right. I have asked the Area Manager to reach out to you directly by phone so we can listen to your feedback in greater detail, address your concerns, and hopefully provide you with a positive outcome.
Thank you again for letting us know we dropped the ball on delivering our famous 5-star customer service experience. We look forward to connecting with you soon, please be on the lookout for our calls.

They give you little to no money for…
They give you little to no money for your vehicle. I also was not part of the inspection process. He had me
sit inside while he went outside to inspect the car. No questions were asked or anything.

During your initial online valuation, no damage to your 2006 Ford Expedition was reported. During our inspection, we did notice some significant rust damage along the undercarriage of the vehicle. Unfortunately, rust can cause structural damage and be the source of costly repairs. This is the reason that your final offer was lower than the initial online valuation you had conducted.

It was a very friendly, non-intimidating experience. We conversed with Mr. Walsh about many topics during the meeting. Kevin Walsh is a pleasant, professional and competent individual. This led us to believe the amount offered for our vehicle was fair and acceptable.

Acceptable process, misleading online value
Actual sale was fine, easy, no glitches. Your online portal where you give a price for the vehicle being sold is not straight forward and can be misleading. There are so many variables that are not asked in the online quote that it gives a misleading high dollar ($) amount. While there may be a few instances that the customer gets that actual amount, I’m sure that the opposite is true most of time. I would recommend providing a dollar range instead of an exact dollar amount. For example, my vehicle was evaluated for a value of $1,070 online. I received $700. I would have felt much better about it if the online evaluation had given a range of say $600 - $1,100. The lower end ended up being acceptable based on additional information provided by the webuyanycar representative.
