So long as you provide an accurate assessment of vehicle condition when requesting an online valuation estimate, there should be no surprises in the branch. We do appraise the vehicle before making a firm offer and are not interested in normal wear and tear, but more serious problems may result in a lower offer if not declared online. We keep detailed appraisal notes and photographs and will be happy to walk you through how we came to your offer to back up the honesty, and integrity of our team. During the numerous online valuations you completed, the only damage declared was scratches and dents to the passenger side door. Our online valuation tool took that information and calculated a price based on the vehicle being in good working condition with no major reconditioning issues.

Unfortunately, once our Branch Manager had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle personally, we discovered multiple dashboard lights illuminated including the check engine light, there was engine noise, a rough idle and the transmission slipped. When we hooked up an industry-standard OBD2 reader to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic computer it returned a variety of troubling codes. I have pasted them below for full transparency. Unfortunately, once we identified all these additional issues with the 2004 Ford, coupled with the accident history and high mileage, we had to modify our valuation of your vehicle.

P0022 - A Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)
P0128 - Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)
P0174 - System too Lean (Bank 2)
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0316 - Misfire Detected On Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)
P0345 - Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2)
P0352 - Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

When our Area Manager tried to speak with you directly on the phone to address your concerns you cursed her out and used derogatory language. When we escalated this matter further to our leadership team, we spoke with you and you requested no further contact. Ultimately, we remain committed to you as our customer and would like to give you a positive outcome, but the vehicle was grossly misrepresented online which resulted in the change of valuation.
