I was quite anxious about my cataract surgery as in the past I had Lasek surgery and I was told I had thin corneas. I was pleased to find Mr Vincenzo Maurino as he had the right expertise for my case. I wanted to be as glasses free as possible so I chose a premium lens rather than the NHS option. I am very pleased with the result of my surgery and I would highly recommend Mr Maurino. The recovery period is important, so ensure you take the time you need to recover well. For me that was two weeks.

I recently underwent laser eye surgery with Dr Maurino, and I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, the entire process was smooth and well-explained. The doctor took the time to explain each step of the surgery, as well as what to expect before and after the procedure.
The staff were courteous, professional, and attentive to every detail. The facilities were clean, modern, and well-equipped, putting me at ease throughout the entire process.

Mr.Maurino is an extraordinarily skillful surgeon. Having read the information regarding possible postoperative side effects, in fact l haven't experienced any one of those. Right after the day of the operation my sight was crystal clear and l did not need painkillers or any other remedies. I believe that the positive, supportive attitude of the clinician contribute crucially to the recovery of the patient. I must say that Mr Maurino is a rare example of the mixture of supreme skill and tireless support. I was extremely grateful that when he discovered some bleeding around an old mole in the eye, he made maximum effort for me to be referred speedily to oncology.

Mr Vincenzo Maurino recently performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes which had to further consider a rare complication in my right eye. I would highly recommend him for his knowledge, surgical expertise and pursuit of perfection. He is supported by a first class team.

I was recommended Vincenzo Maurino by a friend, and I’d happily pass on that recommendation! Mr. Maurino was an excellent communicator—he clearly explained all the options and the pros and cons of each (LASIK vs trans-PRK). I ultimately opted for trans-PRK due to my personal circumstances and preferences.

The recovery was longer than I’d hoped and the first day was quite painful, but Mr. Maurino had prepared me for this. Despite that, I’m thrilled with the outcome. My vision is fantastic, and my eyes feel better than ever. While the surgery was expensive, I genuinely believe it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for improving my quality of life. No more glasses sliding off or fiddling with contact lenses, and I can even see when I get up at night!

I did surgery on 1 November 2023, and a year later after several checkups, I’ve been fully discharged from Moorfields. We achieved exactly what we planned: 20/20 vision in my dominant eye and -0.5 shortsightedness in the weaker one. This should help me delay needing reading glasses as I get older.

Like the first surgery, Mr Maurino was utterly professional, giving me all the information I needed to make my own informed decision on proceeding the surgery. After careful research, I chose the best hospital - Moorfields for the task and was lucky enough to be assigned Mr. Maurino, whose credentials were perfect for my bilateral cataract surgery. After the initial thorough consultation my surgery was arranged two weeks later. The surgery was quick, painless and I felt very relaxed during the whole procedure, in fact watching the surgery was quite a fascinating experience! Super professional treatment from initial consultation through to post-op sign off. I had a double cateract operation with toric lens, so waiting for an NHS appointment was never an option. If you want the best outcome with the lowest risk, a senior consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital is a logical choice and it worked out perfectly for me.

Everything went well from start to finish and I cannot fault the surgeon and all the staff who were most accommodating.

I had TransPRK for -3.00 myopia in 2022. I felt that I was cared for exceptionally well by Mr Maurino and his team. At the initial consultation we discussed all of the options for refractive correction and I was able to make an informed choice about my treatment. The laser procedure itself went well and recovery was as expected. I am very pleased with my resulting vision, which is better than 6/6 (20/20) without glasses. As an eye surgeon myself, good vision is exceptionally important for my ability to perform my role and throughout the pre-op visits, the laser surgery itself and post-op visits I felt that I was in safe hands.
