The air purifier itself seems great but...
The air purifier itself seems great: very quiet and so far, effective. However, there were no aromatherapy pods included as described in the accompanying material. I checked to see if they were available online and found that they were hard to find and quite expensive. Therefore, I feel I was overcharged for this item.

It works, but should work better for this price.
I wanted a humidifier powerful enough to cover 3 downstairs rooms in my house. I very carefully calculated the living space which this unit is rated to service. It is downstairs in a central dining area with 2 adjacent rooms. All doors to rooms other than these are kept closed except when walking through, so as not to allow moisture to escape and increase the area being serviced. I included the stairwell but not the upstairs because there is another humidifier in the upstairs hallway at the top of the stairs, and the doors to the rooms upstairs are kept closed as well, so the upstairs is not a factor in my calculation. The number came out to 625 sq. ft. (with 8-foot ceilings in 2 of the rooms and a 7-foot ceiling in the third), just under the maximum capacity for the unit. The unit is away from the wall and not next to any furniture. Despite this, even after 2 weeks running on automatic with the level set to 55%, the humidity reading of the unit almost never exceeded 45-50% (and was lower than that on chilly days), the only exception being on one or two warmer days when the heat was not running as often, and even then it reached 55% only once briefly when the outside temperature approached 70 degrees. (I own another hygrometer which is analog and after properly recalibrating that one I checked the humidity in the room. It read within about 1-2% of the Venta's digital meter, meaning the reading of the Venta is accurate.)
On the plus side, it is quiet, reasonably so even on the highest fan speed, and maintenance is a snap.
While the area IS definitely more comfortable with the unit than it was without it (which is why I rated it 3 stars), I was expecting even better performance from a unit that sells for over $500.

Venta is the only choice
Venta is the only product I have found to humidify my music studio. Instruments are very sensitive to humidity. My Venta LW45 is able to keep it at a constant 50% plus it cleans the air.

One major fail.
I love everything (so far) about our new humidifier, except the control panel lights and buttons. We upgraded (substantial price increase) to the comfort model to get the sleep dim functionality. Unfortunately it scarcely dims and is a beacon in our bedroom. The controls are not intuitive and the instruction booklet is quite confusing. Delivery, ordering, quality, and customer service are excellent.

I have used Venta Airwashers for over a quarter century
I have used Venta Airwashers for over 25 years. These LW45s are replacing 2 of my original quarter century old Airwashers. Ventas are probably the best evaporative humidifiers made. Very easy to maintain and clean, with no fiber filters to get funky or need replacement. The small size is great to carry for domestic car travel when staying in hotels, where the air is often notoriously dry.
