I’ve been really impressed with Valla. They accommodated my needs in a very short time and went above and beyond to help me as a litigant in person and significant mental health struggles. It’s rare to find a company that genuinely cares about helping people navigate legal processes on their own, but Valla does exactly that. Friendly, responsive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Highly recommended.

As a woman facing intersectionality, and with limited information and support, Valla was like being handed a life buoy whilst at risk of drowning. I approached Valla last year, due to workplace issues I was going through and not knowing whether I had a basis for a claim. Once I had my case assessment and guidance on next steps, it gave me the information I needed to submit a claim. As time had went on, further issues arose and my coaches at Valla were on hand to help as the matters got more complicated. Fast forward a few months later, I managed to agree a settlement with the respondents, which the coaches gave me the confidence and knowledge to do. Although valla aren’t a law firm, they can recommend you to one which I used to review my agreement with and negotiate the finer details which was really helpful. I think this is a great platform and excellent alternative in comparison to costly solicitors and firms who don’t always have your best interest at heart.

The website is a really useful tool to collect and sort your evidence, I wished I had realised that earlier. The coaches are brilliant, very supportive and you have the same coach throughout which is really helpful. Always so willing. The whole team is very quick to respond to emails etc. so the whole experience is very satisfying and reduces the stress.

I interacted superficially with Valla.. but found them to be responsive and friendly in emails.

Tbh, Valla aside, ET1 and ET3 are both in now, judge has viewed them and approved the case and next step is to submit case management agenda.

As an aside, I tried to pull on the legal expenses cover that came with my home insurance. The case-specific info I submitted passed the insurers initial checks was apparently sent to a barrister for merits assessment - and was inevitably deemed not to have >51% chance of success 🙄

I appealed that - appeal declined. Now have a live case against them with the financial ombudsman

So that's 3 realms I'm engaging with: 1. The tribunal; 2. The insurers legal rep (Arc Legal); and 3. The financial ombudsman

Lot of information processing.. lot of admin.. lot of emails and communications..

And I haven't broke sweat... because ChatGPT is running my case lol.

Yes, I have to scan communications and manage Chat's occasional "hallucinations" lol.. but I feel like I haven't done a thing.. and I've got a preliminary hearing date, ET1 approved, and next up is case management agenda.

I uploaded a 10 page barristers merits assessment of my case to ChatGPT.. and 3 seconds later it returned a full analysis, strengths weakness etc etc.. AND my written response!

The thing's AMAZING and will manage your case for you and I all your written work. You'll need to upgrade to a paid package. I think Chat Go is sufficient and it's only 6.99 a month.

Btw, Strathclyde Uni offers a free lawyer clinic where you can get free face to face Zoom time with an employment lawyer. I got an hour with a really sound young female lawyer.. after which she and her colleague told me I could get another two 1 hour sessions.. totally free. So if you email into them, you'll prob wait about 2 weeks.. but more than worth it.. given 3 one hour sessions with an employment lawyer is about £750

Absolutely outstanding support and advice! Brilliant people, very friendly, non judgmental and thorough. They have followed me through my conciliation journey and were one of few who made me feel heard and validated my experiences.

I used Valla to assist me with a workplace dispute, and I found them to be highly responsive to emails, aswell as their platform being very easy to use and intuitive. They have various options for coaching aswell as webinars. I purchased one webinar which was very helpful, and not expensive. I also purchased a specific coaching session and ended up not needing it, so received a full refund. I will definitely recommend this company to people who need legal support but can't afford time with a solicitor.

I paid for a legal coach to complete my Employment Tribunal Case Management Agenda. I explicitly asked if this could be filled out, was told yes, and added paid time accordingly. Instead, I received a mostly blank document with comments telling me what to do.
Only afterwards was I told the service is guidance only and they would not complete paperwork, which was not made clear upfront. They also refused to reimburse the hour paid. With a tribunal deadline approaching, this caused unnecessary stress. Be very clear about what you’re actually paying for.

Had a case assessment today with a legal coach who is also a qualified solicitor (Naa). I think the price for a case assessment, which includes a 1-hour call, is incredibly good value. I even had the written assessment the same day. HIGHLY recommend. Am waiting on a minor customer service issue, but their HQ team in the week leading up to my assessment have been very helpful and quick to respond.

Really excellent service at an affordable price. You get much better value buying the higher hour packages. Also there's coaches that are qualified solicitors so you really wouldn't get that type of advice at such a low cost otherwise.

I don’t quite know where to start but I will say. The team have been phenomenal. To answer questions promptly, to assigning me to a case worker who was informed, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. After being so mistreated for a long time, Valla gave me hope. Their services allow people affordable solutions and advice, which in this day and age is so commendable. You don’t have the worries of runaway solicitors fees, nor the dismissals from unions if your case is not open and shut.
It is a small amount to pay out to get some advice on whether your employer is behaving badly, and you can spread the payments.
