I had a long-standing reservation for a motorhome hire. Vaaroom phoned me to say that the depot was going to have to close unexpectedly - which is unfortunate and annoying, but could not be helped. They offered some compensation and an equivalent booking from another site, which would have involved me driving 3 hours across the country (and back again). But that was only the start...

It was only when I started investigating a possible adjustment to the dates that they revealed that the vehicle that I had booked was not going to be available at all, from any depot. If I hadn't questioned a possible date-change, they wouldn't have told me about the lack of vehicle. They tried to offer me a different motorhome, but it was completely inappropriate.

I am more annoyed by the fact that Vaaroom didn't let me know about the vehicle being unavailable, after having it booked with them for several months. Presumably I would have driven halfway across the country only to find that Vaaroom didn't have the vehicle I had booked (and paid a deposit for).

On the times when I have successfully hired a motorhome from Vaaroom, they were fine (other than the irritation of having to pay extra for absolutely everything, like wedges, outdoor seats, toilet chemicals, car parking). But following this recent contretemps, I don't think anyone should trust Vaaroom again.

Arranged rental of a motorhome for a weekend this summer. Sharon was extremely helpful and accommodating. She did everything she could to ensure that we got exactly what we needed for the dates we wanted. Highly recommend.

Purchased a 6-berth motor home from the Vaaroom rental fleet. From the start it was evident that the vehicle has been meticulously cleaned and serviced throughout its rental history. The buying process took a few weeks over the Christmas period and Niki was always available for any questions or queries from this first time buyer. Niki was instrumental in making the purchase as seamless as possible and I can’t thank him enough. On the day of collection he spent a considerable amount of time with me explaining how everything worked and making sure I was comfortable with the operation of the motorhome. Our experience has been fantastic and the customer service has been outstanding throughout. Will definitely recommend to friends interested in renting a motorhome or camper in the future.

Our motorhome hire experience unfortunately fell short of expectations due to several maintenance issues. The shower/toilet area lacked functioning lights, making it inconvenient and uncomfortable to use, especially during nighttime. Additionally, one of the gas stoves wasn't working properly, hampering our ability to cook meals efficiently. To add to the discomfort, the central heating system was also dysfunctional, causing significant inconvenience during our trip.

What compounded the frustration was the company's response to our concerns. Despite highlighting these significant faults, the company displayed an unwillingness to address or compensate for these issues. The lack of empathy and the dismissive attitude towards our genuine grievances left us feeling unheard and disregarded.

These issues collectively disrupted our journey and affected our overall experience. We hoped for a smooth and comfortable adventure, but these maintenance issues, coupled with the company's unsatisfactory response, created unnecessary hurdles, impacting the enjoyment of our trip. We strongly encourage the service to not only address their maintenance standards but also to prioritise compassionate and considerate customer service, ensuring future customers do not face a similar disappointment.

Dear Lee, You are more than welcome to read all the correspondence I had with you CS.
1st. we didn't extend the hire... look at the time we returned the car.
2nd. When we arrived to the depot the person who saw us in, confirmed all the faults I have described. I have my wife and children that witnessed that, however you still argue that we all lie.
To me this is the opposite of a great company, and this is my family and my personal experience, which is what I gave the rating about.
I wish you all the best and hope you will treat future customers better.

A shoutout to Amy for helping us through the initial booking process! During the day of collection, Niki was very approachable and also very knowledgeable in what he does - making sure you are as comfortable as possible driving a campervan! Great company with great value for money considering you are getting a campervan that’s not old at all! Would highly recommend.

Purchased an ex rental vehicle. From start to finish the service was exceptional Niki was very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for him even gave us a lift from Cambridge to Romford to collect the van. The van itself was in really good condition clean and well maintained. Niki gave us plenty of background history of the van and supplied all service history and manuals. Couldn’t fault the service and aftercarein any way.

Hired a 2 berth camper for a music festival in 2023 and have now rebooked for 2024. Great customer service and very knowledgeable. Sharon's great when booking and very helpful. I like it when things are clear and simple. Amy was great on the handover on pickup and delivery, took the time to make sure we were aware of all the features on the camper.
We had the Chausson Flash 2 berth which well maintained and in great condition. Very easy to drive and clutch wasn't too heavy in the 3 hour tailback we got stuck in.
Looking forward to our trip next year!

AMAZING is not a good enough word for this company. We drove from Cheshire to Bath to view a ex rental that Niki was selling and the lad that meet us was very polite and showed us around a few of the vans he had for sale. The one my wife choose had to be one that wasn't ready to be sold but there was no way I was doing another round trip 😅. I was told take the van and any issue let them know. The van was clean and well looked after and drove perfectly after using the van the heater stopped working I took it in got it fixed I contacted them and they settled the bill there and then . If you want to buy or rent a van then this company and Niki are the people to see . P.s I will see you when I want a upgrade and keep up the.good work

Excellent service from Romford depot team! Very easy to collect and drop off the van. Everything was explained and showed how to use the van. Had a really wonderful time off with the family! Highly recommended, can’t wait for the next adventures with Vaaroom motorhomes!!

Have hired from Vaaroom a few times now, hired a Campervan from the Bristol depot this time for a change.
Campervan great condition and very clean inside and outside on collection.

We purchased an ex-rental motorhome from Nikki at Vaaroom. Nikki is very knowledgeable and made the transaction effortless. You can always make contact with one of the Vaaroom team and the aftercare is outstanding. We would highly recommend Vaaroom for any of your hire needs. Out of season there is also the option to hire a motor home pod. Overall a brilliant 5 star ⭐️ service.

As newbies to the motorhome experience we decided hiring a vehicle would be our best introduction as we could be guided through the process by an experienced company.

We hired from the Bristol depot and were greeted by Ryan who was friendly and very knowledgeable about the vehicle, taking the time to answer our newbie questions and fully demonstrating how to use the motorhome.

The formalities of picking up and returning the motorhome were quickly processed by Ryan allowing us to hit the road to Cornwall.

We left our car in the secure compound at the Bristol depot.

We hired a 2 berth motorhome which we found to be clean and all in good working order.

The motorhome was easy to drive and once we arrived at the campsite was easily set up. Ryan demonstrated how to connect to the site power and set up the electrics and water pump etc and we were all set up within 15 minutes. So much easier than camping!!!

The motorhome was collected with a full tank of fresh water and so we were free to explore our holiday destination.

On our return to the depot the drop off procedure was as smooth as before, we loaded our car and returned home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our motorhome experience and have already discussed booking a long weekend for next year.

My wife and I hired a Chausson Flash for the weekend from Vaaroom Romford branch on 09/09/23. The Motorhome was impeccably clean and everything was explained that we needed to know by a gentleman who’s name escapes me sadly. We had a great weekend with no issues at all with the van. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and upon our return Katie booked us back in. Also a big thanks to Sharon whom was very helpful when my wife dealt with her when making the booking.

Katie was exceptional and thorough and very helpful in answering a few questions we had regarding Motorhomes, I believe going above and beyond. Would definitely recommend them to other’s thinking of hiring from them.

Immaculate and clean motorhome service was 5 star from start to finish. As a first time motorhomer I will definitely be doing it again!

We hired a 2 berth motorhome from this company. To say that it was unsatisfactory is an understatement.
The most serious aspect was that we were told a new gas bottle was fitted. However we discovered after turning the gas on that the connection was only hand tight. Hence when turned on gas escaped. Luckily we noticed the strong smell of gas and turned it off, located the connection spanner and tightened it up before a serious accident occurred. The kitchen window fell out, it came with a cracked drivers wing mirror which you could only adjust by hand. The locks on the garage and cabin door didn't work properly and there were catches missing from some of the cupboards so they didn't lock whilst travelling. Lastly there are no Co2 detectors fitted in the accommodation so if you do hire a van from these people then take your own for your safety. When all these points were mentioned to Vaaroom; we had the following response: regards to the CO3 (Co3 is CARBON TRIOXIDE so not surprised there is no sensor fitted) alarm, this is not a legal requirement for a Motorhome however it is our intention to have them fitted to any new vans i.e. all VW's have them and the new 2024 Weinsberg will have them. Chausson did not have them fitted and we have not fitted them retrospectively as we are selling them this year.

So people be very careful and be safe.
