DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! They are great on sign up and the orginal movers, but once they have your things, BEWARE. Bottom line? They lied, they were unprofessional, they broke $30,000 worth of my furniture and still haven't gotten my $500 refund. Do the math. They are crooks. All my boxes were new, but they looked like they had been left outside. They hire local movers. They don't own their own trucks. All of my major furniture and appliances were destroyed or damaged. My king mattress was strapped to the back of the moving truck. It was soaked and black. It's been 15 months, waiting on my pitiful claim refund. Make sure you keep your homeowners insurance for claims. They delivered a partial load and we waited 3 weeks for the rest. There is nothing positive I can say about them. $30,00 down the drain..

NEVER use this company

NEVER use this company! They are vial, liars, thieves and scammers! They overcharge, leave your belongings behind, break most of what they do take and steal the rest! Amanda is the biggest liar on the face of this planet. They will not show up when they say they will. Absolutely the worst humans on the plant, the absolute worst company around, Thieves, and liars! Your items will be missing and broke and you can expect to be charged significantly more when they arrive than what was quoted. DO NOT TRUST UNITED NATION VAN LINES WITH ANYTHING!

The move by this company was the move…

The move by this company was the move from hell. They lied on their estimate, jacked the price up on moving day, then delivered late with thousands of dollars of smashed and scratched items. They also stole two expensive camping items including a Yeti cooler. When I put in a claim, their check bounced.

Worst service EVER

Poor service, low balled the price until we were ready to unload and demanded $3,000 more. Broke to many thing a to name. We’re in a hurry to unload and did not care how they broke things. WORSE EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIFE. They had us as a hostage.

not on your life…

I have moved multible times and United Nation Vanlines is by far the most unprofessional and incompetent company I have ever dealt with.When my stuff was delivered which took 3 weeks,there were 5 different people unloading a 53 foot trailer & they wouldnt slow down so I could check everything and because of that I didnt know till latter that 3 boxes were missing. They made no attempt to recover my boxes and only want to pay $ 179.40 for damaging 3 pieces of furniture beyond repair 1 of which is an antique. If they were the only movers I still would not use them !!!!!!!!!!

The Worst Experience We Have Ever Had

If there were a way to leave a negative value of stars for this recommendation, I would. Without hesitation, I can say that working with United Nation Van Lines was the worst, most painful experience my family has ever had. Our move ended up costing more than double our original quote. The day of our move, when we had no other options, the moving team told us we would have to pay thousands more than we were planning on. The worst part of the experience was the fact that one of the movers used the one bathroom in our home that we literally had taped off as our "safe space" with valuables and destroyed the space to the point that we had to have the commode repaired extensively (which we ended up paying for) and almost everything in the space was a complete loss--tech equipment, camera equipment, clothing, shoes, and other meaningful possessions. Additionally, we had to have our entire home professionally sanitized to ensure that all of the human waste the moving team tracked throughout our house was mitigated before our buyers moved into the home. The movers were discourteous, surly, and disrespectful. They smoked just outside our door which allowed smoke to filter into the house and left an incredible amount of trash on the property when they left. Finally, once we received our belongings (which were delivered late by several days), we were missing countless boxes and received many boxes that belonged to other customers. We did our best to return those to the rightful owners but got no communication about all that we had lost. Box after box of our things were smashed to smithereens, including several boxes of heirloom stoneware that we were assured would arrive in one piece. To this day, we have no idea of all the things we are missing. Please, please, please do not use this mover. You will be grateful in the long run to avoid the negative--and truly painful, stressful, and unnecessary--experience we did. It is interesting that the customer service on the front end when payment was due was amazing, yet we never received a single call back when we asked for support in dealing with any of these issues. Could not have been a worse experience!

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. They gave me an estimate of $9000 and then when the driver came he said that your items are more and doubled the price to $22000. Clearly they were taking advantage. I had sent the driver all the pic of each and every room. Driver said I have no contact with sales person. They had no internal communication among themself. Customer service was extremely rude . Luckily got a last min movers who gave me estimate of $10000. They are fraud. Pl be careful.

Terrible experience - Do not use this company!

Terrible experience! This is my fifth cross-country move and this was the worst experience ever. The "professional" packers did a terrible job of packing. It was obvious no care was taken with any of my items. Most looked like they were just thrown into the boxes - especially the large wardrobe containers. Many items, like a table lamp, were packed upside down. Who does that?!?! The items I packed came intact. They ruined virtually ever piece of furniture I own with all the "transfers" to different trucks. Some of the boxes sustained water damage. My white mattress cover was not properly bagged and came with filthy footprints on it. Actually, many of my items looked like someone walked on them. Boxes were opened and the contents spilled out into other boxes. My child's high school graduation photos were thrown in one of the filing cabinets (I had emptied and packed all those contents prior to these people arriving), with other loose items that all came damaged. The hardware and feet to my bed were not with it so I could not even set up my bed to sleep in that night. I still cannot use my printer for work/school because they separated the printer and the cable - no idea where it is. They destroyed a couch table and broke a picture - the list goes on and on.

They do not accept cashiers checks (who does that?) that are the most secure form of payment - so that created another level of nightmare. When I tried to call the company to get this resolved, they kept hanging up on me - I heard them talking about me and clearly they could see my number. One of the packers broke an item and his comment was, "I guess I broke that. Too bad, so sad." I believe the crew chief sent him home for this and his bad attitude on not wanting to wear the mask I provided for my protection and that of my elderly relatives. I do not care what the government rules are - if I am paying you thousands of dollars to move my belongings, you bet you are going to follow my health and safety rules. That should be an expectation - or don't take the job!

If you do not care about your belongings go ahead and hire these jokers. No one on either of the crews spoke English fluently so I could not communicate effectively with them. Common sense would dictate that you pair workers who speak a particular language with the people who are moving. The office gave me conflicting and incorrect information on when my possessions left the state. They delivered on the 16th day of the 17 day window. Finally, when the two people showed up to unload my belongings, one of them (who spoke no English), had sandals on. I am sure that must have violated some kind of labor or OSHA laws. No professionalism whatsoever. I will never work with this company again.

This is a review of United Nations Van…

This is a review of United Nations Van Lines with hope it will help others make an informed decision on their choice of carriers for a long distance move.

After reading many reviews we chose United Nation Van line because they have an expedited delivery option.We were scheduled for an April 8,9 pick up with and expedited delivery window of April 12-16.

The crew picked up our items on the 8th. We were informed by Carin in Customer Service we needed to wire payment since a check would not have enough time to clear. We were told our items would be taken to the secured storage yard and loaded on a truck for the expedited delivery.
All good at this point so we headed to our new home a 3 day drive expecting our items to be delivered about two to five days later. As the delivery widow arrived I called and was told no our delivery was not on a truck and we would not receive our items till the end of the next week at the earliest. I called back and a second time and spoke to Carin in customer service. She agreed that was not the contract we had and said she would look into it. After a few days ( I called every day) we were told the truck for our delivery broke down and they were waiting for the next truck. They did refund the expedited delivery charge and promised to get our items loaded on the next truck. We were told not to worry the items were stored a the secure warehouse and were safe.
We were frustrated but understand things happen and shipping was a busy sector of the economy at the time. Our biggest complaint was we could not get an answer to when we could expect our items. They had no schedule or plan for our items.
On Friday the 22nd of April Carin told me they had a truck loading to head our way and we should get our goods by Friday the next week. This was correct and we did get our shipment on Friday the 29th. The truck however was not a United Nations Van Lines truck but an independent subcontractor. Two weeks late but at least we had our items back... or so we thought.
The goods as they were unloaded looked in decent condition, one has to be realistic when you move your items some things will be slightly damaged and scratched some boxes may get a bit crushed it’s just how it goes and the small issues we had we understood and accepted as normal wear and tear of a move. I won’t fault United Nation’s for that.
As we began unpacking however, my wife found two boxes both from our bedroom area which had the side of the box ripped downward from the handle (Home Depot boxes) these were then attempted to be re-taped. In each box we found items had been stolen. In the first a jewelry box top was broken open jewelry, thumb drives of photos, and sentimental items were stolen. In the second two expensive pairs of sunglasses were stolen. Only valuables were missing from each box. This was disturbing theft is very different from damage or even lost or misplaced items.

I called Carin in customer service and explained the situation when I described the boxes she agreed it was theft and apologized. She stated she would inform her manager and look into it. She also took a preliminary list of items and said there was a lost and found perhaps some of the sentimental items could be found that way.
I called back several times and finally spoke with Carin’s manager Lisa a week later. When I began to describe the situation she was unaware of the theft completely, she had never been informed she also agreed it was clearly theft. Only when I spoke to her did she contact the warehouse the goods had been stored at. A whole week of time was lost. We relayed to her we knew the items were gone and only the sentimental items and photos stolen were irreplaceable. She also apologized and told us on the back of the contact it states you should never ship items of value that could be lost.
This leaves us at the end of our review. choosing a shipping company is a tough call most of us have items of value both monetary and sentimental we have to ship despite the very small fine print on the back of a page it’s just life. My wife and I understood damage and loss were a risk in the move. However theft is a different matter it is a complete violation of the trust you put into a company to move your items, it’s not incidental to the business it is out and out a crime.

Dishonest, Overcharge and 40-50 broken items

Like Adam - May 5 2022 we were moving from Seattle.
We were going to OK and our belongings were to be transferred in CA. We also had the Russian.
We were originally quoted base on 1001 cu ft. They suggested to up it to 1101cu ft get the better rate.
Again told that the cube would be verified on loading and in CA . LOL. The packers and movers were day laborers. When everything was loaded they tried to say that it was 1400 cu ft. Because it was loosely packed you could not calculate the cube. When I said that we were quoted based on 1101cu ft he said OK how about 1251cu ft. Again it would be verified in CA. LOL. The items were moved into a storage unit. Based on the dimensions of the unit and the space taken up we were over charged by about 150 cu ft.
I sent pictures to UNVL and they would not accept them as they said that they could not confirm them and had not taken them. The pictures were actually taken by the storage unit manager. I wrote to the BBB but that made no difference. Calls to the office and emails to the owners were not responded to.
The packing was horrendous. We had over 40 pieces of china etc that were broken. A lot in multiple pieces.
Furniture items were scratched, broken or lost.
If you do not want to get ripped off and value your belongings do not use them.

Fantastic job!

Nick and Carey were fantastic, speedy and hardworking. Would recommend using them! We had to dump a bunch of old furniture too. They left it without a problem and kept it organized away from the stuff we were moving.

Well done

We hired United Nation Van Lines based on recommendations from several of our friends in NJ. This company has been making a mark for itself there by slowly pleasing the market, one satisfied customer at a time. Their work and professionalism are simply perfect. You can always get a straight answer out of them to any query, and without any delay. We found that out right at the start when we first called to get a quote. The sales manager was very helpful and took the time and effort to help us out. That was basically the main reason we shortlisted them. However, he was not the only one - the customer service operators were just as helpful and friendly. 5 stars from us.

King movers

I was initially not sold on United Nation Van Lines – their prices seemed high for a company that, on the surface, seemed to be providing the same service as many other moving companies. However, now that I have used them once, it’s clear that they are far superior to the average moving company. For one, they are very particular about ensuring that the price that they charge does not surprise the customer. All their costs and fees are there on the contract, and they will explain everything you ask in layman’s terms so there is no confusion. They also make sure that they are always on time whether it is at pickup or delivery. My mind has been changed – United Nation Van Lines should be your choice, too.

Efficient!

A very professional working crew, fully deserving of a great review. United Nation Van Lines handled our home move between NY and GA. They were hired last year by my sister and we chose them for our move because we saw them working so hard then. They were just as good working on our home, arriving early for the job and finishing within the time they had said they would. The packing boxes they used were good quality, rigid enough for the job but not heavy. I was happy to see that they still took a lot of care in loading and unloading our things. Overall, the job was very well handled by a team that was obviously very good at their job. 5 stars.

Professional movers!

Moving is a pain in the neck and you need good professional movers to shoulder the burden if you want to retain your sanity. We have been choosing United Nation Van Lines for our moves for the past few years precisely because they can handle major moving jobs in a responsible, transparent and reliable way. The move was not very complicated, just moving some of our old things out of our 3 floor home into storage in FL. The most complicated part was moving the bigger things down the stairs, something that the movers handled with seeming ease. I should add that the cost was slightly higher than I would have thought. Still, I would hire them again because they always do such a thorough job.

Very nice

William and Gregg were very professional, fast, friendly, and ensured everything was wrapped and secure. The whole move only took a few hours (2br/1bath). I had a fantastic experience overall.

The single worst experience dealing with any company in my life.

The estimation practice they use to give you a quote is a bait and switch. We itemized everything we owned and then the final bill was almost double what they quoted.

The packing crew arrived at 3PM. (they said they were double booked for the following day - NOT MY PROBLEM) Then they refused to leave until they were finished. Which didn't happen UNTIL 3:30AM!!! Despite paying for a full pack service, I had to spend hours helping pack and disassemble furniture just to get them out of the house. They also forgot several items and left them behind. This is lost property.

When I complained to the main office about this experience, the staff there was rude, argumentative, insulting and accusatory. I am beyond disgusted with this place! They literally do not care how badly the treat you.

It gets worse.

After weeks of arguing over the phone, and seeking legal guidance, we had no choice put to pay whatever exorbitant amount they asked for. On move-in day, a single worker arrived (with his girlfriend who was not an employee, that I know of?). He shared a few stories about how the guy who had handled our packing (a Russian, I won't use his name here) usually does a terrible job and has some real horror stories about how he mistreats people. This unpacker guy was nice enough, but... after unloading the truck, he put together 2 pieces of furniture and then said "I'm leaving." No argument, no further comment, he just left. With virtually no unpacking done, and barely any furniture assembled. All services we paid for.

It gets even worse.

Thousands of dollars of our items were broken or lost in the move. Entire boxes never arrived. Computer monitor was broken, boxes were packed with loose items like books and metal storage racks. Lots of damaged furniture. Giant boxes were only half-filled (meaning we paid for footage we didn't even use). To this day, we are still slowly going through the claims process.

The kicker is, as of today, there is a warning on the BBB website for this place as there have been many complaints. I even found a website out there dedicated to how bad this place is! (unitednationvanlinessucks.wordpress)

If only that stuff had existed when we were shopping for movers. DO NO USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Using them for our out-of-state move from Seattle to San Francisco was one of the worst experiences of my life. I kept a detailed list of all our grievances regarding the move that spans many pages. I'll try my best to summarize here:
• The original quote that they "reel you in on" is predatory — we ended up having to pay thousands above the estimate (despite, ironically, ending up moving fewer items than were listed in our 800 sq ft estimate)
• There were constant delays on their end with poor/little communication
• When the mover finally showed up, the first thing he did was to attempt to change our estimate from 800 to 1200 sq ft — adding an extra $2000. This is despite the fact that when we spoke with two other folks from United Nation Van Lines (the salesperson and the QC person), they said our item list would easily fit in 800 sq ft — the QC person even suggested we had room for more! We ended up being coerced to negotiate it to 1000 sq ft — adding an extra $1000. Our mover said we could dispute this after the move was finished (spoiler alert: we couldn't).
• Rather than actually measuring the space our stuff took up in the truck, the mover pulled out a calculator and showed me a number: 983 sq ft. When I was skeptical about the number and asked for him to measure, he acted in a rush and said that we would remeasure once our stuff was in San Francisco (spoiler alert: he didn't and we were forced to pay).
• Our mover lied about when he would arrive at the destination. After missing the first arrival date (without proper communication), he actually called to tell us he would show up the next morning. He didn't show up. The next day, someone else from United Nation Van Lines called to tell us that our stuff is arriving the following day — a day we had warned the them ahead of time would not work (our new apartment had a strict rule that two tenants could not move in on the same day). They said if we couldn't do that day, we would be charged upwards of another thousand dollars. Their(!) mismanagement and poor timeliness would be the reason why we(!) had to pay.
• One might think: maybe they had a reasonable excuse for these delays? Well, I actually packed up some Apple Airtags in my moving boxes to track where my stuff was. I noticed that one of the delays, which the company did provide a reason for, was a "pitstop" at a CASINO (!!!) for more than 6 hours. This casino was not right off the driving route — it was 12 miles away from the 5 freeway.
• When my mover finally showed up, he came alone in the same truck that he picked up our stuff in. They added an additional $650 fee for a shuttle service in SF because they said that truck would be too big to drive in San Francisco — apparently there were rules against large trucks. However, we didn't get a shuttle, the truck that arrived was the same license plate! So the truck we didn't get charged for in Seattle, we got charged for in SF.
• Because he showed up alone, I, the one paying for movers to move my stuff, had to help carry our heavy items. My back did not feel great the next day... Additionally, our bed frame did not fit in the elevator and he said he didn't have the tools to disassemble it. Rather than helping us figure what to do, he hastily got us to sign the form agreeing that our stuff was received and bolted out. He didn't even unpack a single thing for us — he left it all wrapped in moving blankets and fled.
• As he was leaving, we asked about remeasuring as he had promised. His response: "Deal with the company! I am just the driver! Deal with the company!"
• We tried to deal with the company. Every time we try to speak with them about these issues, it is frustrating, stressful, and hopeless. The claims site they pointed us to does not handle claims of our nature — only claims citing damage. When we tried to speak with a manager about our case, they would not give us a number and said that they would call us. They never did.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID!
