Andrew and his dedicated team delivered our multiphase project on the Mill during a challenging time with professionalism, attention to detail and humour. A combination of a can-do attitude, transparent and honest cost management, great communication and ability to resolve any problem made it a pleasure to work together. Andy and his team have just completed an excellent oak framed sun room. The extension is fabulous and exactly what we wanted, adding a lovely feature to our property.
They started building when agreed, were always on site on the days and times when stated and left everything tidy afterwards. The works were on budget and paid in weekly instalments after each area of works were done.

They delivered as promised, and at all times were honest, professional, hardworking and friendly. The team were first rate, and they all knew what they were doing, and were clearly highly skilled professionals in their field of expertise. In addition, they were always on hand to discuss the project and offer solutions when needed, and always went the extra mile when we moved the goal posts or added to the to do list as customers so often do.

Their service was customer focused taking into account our thoughts, needs and concerns and they more than delivered on providing us with the extension we envisaged, making it a reality. We are thoroughly pleased with the end result and would certainly use Unique Building Solutions again, and would not hesitate in recommending them to others.

We greatly appreciated the quality of the build and their attention to detail. Overall we are delighted with our large oak framed porch and all our neighbours have commented on how beautiful it looks. The project was concluded on budget although it overran a little on time due to the unusually wet weather. In fairness, not much they could have done about that.

We have just an extension and an oak garden room added to our house by Unique Building Solutions.

In my opinion, there are three main concerns you have when choosing the right builder to work on your home. 1: Experience 2: Money, 3: Who are the people that will be coming into your home.

Andy and his team clearly have a huge amount of experience and skill. The finish and quality is excellent. The detail in the oak room in particular has made us very happy.

We originally obtained four quotations from various reputable builders at the end of 2020. I can say that without question Andy's was the most detailed of them all which is really important so you know what's included and what's not. All too often the quotes are lacking detail and you hear the words 'I haven't allowed for that' almost straight away. Andy was excellent at making sure he had covered everything that needed to be and things we hadn't thought of.

As for who they are, I can safely say that Andy, Chris, Stan and Ollie were a pleasure to have around and we had no problem letting them into the house. They even helped look after the dogs when we had to go out!

All in all we are very pleased and would recommend Unique Building Solutions to anyone.

We used Unique Building Solutions to build an extension with underfloor heating, install a new kitchen, demolish an old bathroom and built a new one, converted a bedroom into a bathroom. The guys were so patient and paying attention to detail. The workmanship was to a highest standard. Most of the work was done on site. Andy brought the timber home and constructed it himself. Trying to put to words what he did would not do his work justice, instead I will attach some pictures if I can.
Working throughout the treacherous winter months was challenging, however they remained consistent doing what they do best. Andrew gave great advice and ideas to certain problems that arose due to the age of the house. He consulted us at every step of the project, making sure we were all on the same page. Chris, with the patience of a monk, was very efficient and meticulous, and would not leave his job until he was satisfied that it was of highest standard!
The guys went an extra mile purchasing all the materials that under normal circumstances I would have been required to purchase, such as paint etc. They were more knowledgeable than I was so bought nearly everything for me.
I’d also like to add, they were like part of our family. My husband and I would certainly recommend Andrew and Chris (and their young apprentice, Stan) They are the most honest and decent builders you would ever wish for! We miss having them around, ( I don’t know whether it’s possible to miss builders, but we do)! ! As soon as we raise enough money we will be calling upon you guys to restore and refurbish the rest of the house!
By the way guys, the excitement about my new kitchen hasn’t won off yet, and I have been permanently installed in my new extension!

From start to finish Andrew and his team were extremely helpful, honest and professional. No ask was too big and their knowledge and advice throughout was invaluable. We used Andy and his team to convert an old stone built stable into a two bed two bath annexe. The property was listed and needless to say there were many hidden problems that only came to light as the building proceeded. Andy was very good at finding solutions to these problems and whilst the costs may have exceeded our initial budget, the outcomes were as good as we had hoped for. It never felt that they were working on other projects at the same time but that they were concentrating solely on our build. To control costs I would recommend that you ask for written estimates of any additional works before you agree to them and that you might want to source some materials independently. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a small local firm who take pride in their work and respect the character and nature of old buildings.

Our project was to build a two storey extension onto our lovely Grade 2 listed cottage. We were worried about finding a builder who understood our vision which meant capturing the character a quirkiness off the original building. We need not have worried because straight away it was apparent that we were all on the same page. They worked closely with us to make sure they were building exactly what wanted. Any problems along the way were met with solutions that stuck to the brief of character and quirkiness. We were so pleased with the end result that we invited the lads back to build a porch onto the extension and once again they came up with something that fitted the character of the building perfectly. They were a delight to work with and we would not hesitate to recommend UBS for all of your building needs.
