Comes with Japanese instructions but easily translated with my phone to get up the English menu on the walkman and setting up the device was easy. Was a little concerned about buying a Japanese import but had read so many bad reviews about the sound quality of the EU/UK version decided to go for this. Needn’t have worried at all. Item came super quick (received notice of dispatch within an hour or ordering) fully sealed and in full working order. It was fun actually using Google translate on the Japanese instructions and it was no problem at all switching the device into English. Sound quality night and day better between the Sony and my iPhone 14 I was using previously and the loudness really does make a difference. John Darko (renowned YouTube audiophile reviewer) mentioned in his review having to turn volume up to 110+ to get acceptable hearing level whilst on this 60 to 80 gives you a clear sound with plenty left to crank up softer music. All this with added bonus of paying £40 less than recommended price, you really cannot go wrong.
