UK Therapy Guild is a Liverpool training academy for people who want to become counsellors. Founded by Nichola Doyle, we exist to give the next generation of therapists the skills, confidence and ethical grounding to do real good in mental health. Our main course is the Level 5 Equivalent Diploma in Integrative Counselling: a two-year, part-time training accredited by the NCIP, with a curriculum assessed against the BACP SCoPEd Framework. From September 2027, Student BACP membership in Year 2 is included within tuition fees. Integrative means you learn a range of therapeutic approaches rather than one fixed model, and build your own way of working. Teaching is hands-on, with live demonstrations, supervised practice and practice-based assessment, so you finish ready to sit with real clients. Students who want to go further can add a clinical hypnotherapy qualification, validated by the ACCPH and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. We teach face-to-face in Croxteth, Liverpool, supported by an online learning platform. Cohorts are small and tutors know every student by name, which matters particularly to mature students and anyone returning to education after a long gap. More than a training provider, we are a community. Students gain CPD opportunities, a supportive network and somewhere to belong long after their course finishes. Alongside the academy, UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services offers low-cost therapy to people in the local community who might otherwise go without, delivered by the therapists we train. Our students get real client experience, and people who need support get somewhere to turn.

I’m really glad I chose UK Therapy Guild for my training in Integrative Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy. The support has been amazing, from enrolling right through to starting the course. The first session was a bit daunting, but the tutors made us all feel really welcome. I can’t wait to learn more.

Uk Therapy Guild helped me make the choice to train as a Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist. The application was seamless and the support from the initial sign up has been fabulous. It is early stages of the training but it has been easily accessible, interesting and enjoyable. The academic support system for students is unbelievably detailed.
I have recently just enrolled onto the level 5 diploma in integrative counselling and hypnotherapy and have honestly found the whole application and enrolment well planned, structured and ran smoothly. The quality of this course is outstanding, it is absolute value for money, the curriculum and teaching methods are excellent with lots of practical time to embed the learning. It has its own website full of learning resources, which means you don’t have outlay further, the knowledge, understanding and support is in beyond expectation.
I studied this course to increase understanding of additional modalities of counselling and deepening knowledge in hypnotherapy. The course was delivered by two great facilitators and teachers. The course content was excellent and backed up with online content which complimented the classroom discussions and teaching. Nick and Nicola created a warm welcoming environment and encouragement and support which is by far an outlier of any course I’ve been on.
Fantastic tutors who went above and beyond to ensure that our training was second to none. One the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Fantastic course with supportive, enthusiastic and engaging mentors. The learning environment was professional but also relaxed with a real sense of community. I was not sure I had what it took to become a counsellor but throughout this course I was encouraged to have self belief and finished the course feeling empowered. I had such a great experience on this course, not only for learning about psychotherapy but for learning about the self, and all of the exploration and growth that comes with that. This is an amazing course with first class tutors & and abundance of resources & practical support. It offers in depth training in a range of counselling modalities and opportunities to hone counselling skills with plenty of practical sessions. I have found the course to be invaluable in enabling me to pursue a career in counselling and it has had a positive impact on my own self awareness & personal growth.

Returning to education was daunting for me, and the self doubt crept in! However, immediately I started the course I felt at ease. It was absolutely superb. Although challenging at times, I found it both rewarding and life changing, and feel lucky to have found it after researching many others.

The course allows you to build up the knowledge and resources to be able to be confident when putting the counselling skills into practice in your placement. The best part about the course is the week on week reflection and insight it gives you about yourself and how others around you are and ways we can improve our own lives interactions.
