ight Seem Like a 5-Star Company Until You Fall Behind on Payments!
UGP may appear great until you hit a tough spot with payments. In my experience, they handed my account to ACS, a debt recovery company, and things went downhill fast.
If you check into ACS, you’ll see just how far they’re willing to go. Despite my business being based in Cambridge, ACS took me to Portsmouth Magistrates Court. Every single communication was done via email, except for the court letter, which was conveniently sent by post and got “lost” – leaving me with no chance to defend myself.
To make matters worse, they completely disregarded my personal circumstances: I’m an insulin-dependent diabetic, and I have a 6-year-old son living in the property, but none of this mattered to them.
If you value your peace of mind, be very cautious before engaging with UGP, especially if you ever run into financial difficulties.

One of the easiest switch overs I've ever taken part in. UGP were straight to the point with the information we needed to provide, and they did the rest! Anything that we had missed or they needed more information about, they were on the phone straight away so not to delay the switch over.

Really helpful service. I have been really impressed with the communication received from UGP. UGP notified me at each step of our switch from a previous supplier which was really helpful. This is something I never had from previous business energy suppliers.
A huge thanks to Sarah Stewart and Sophie Walker for their help and smooth transfer to UGP. Both have been really easy and kind to deal with and this is something I really appreciate, especially after having such awful service/communications with a previous supplier.

Regan was helpful on the phone and dealt with email questions, quickly and efficiently. Our company had multiple meters that were due out of contract in just a few days. This was no trouble at all and took any stress away from me.
Once the contracts were signed and agreed. I was passed on to Eddie who was also great. He set up an online account for us to submit readings, get copy bills etc. He merged all of the meters into one online account, rather than several.
Thank you. I will definitely recommend your company and will soon switch my home energy too.

Brilliant service, we were referred to UGP via another organisation.
As a small business we wished to look at alternatives to brokers we have previously used due to various issues.
We were helped by Herbie who helped explain current pricing, and general overview of the energy situation in the UK, and arranged a very competitive offer which we have chosen. One of the best parts for us was was the ease and competency of communication (a teams call!), no forced 'rush' that some brokers try, and dealing with the transfer to the new contract to allow me to focus on more immediate responsibilities of the business.

I was getting fed up with overseas call centres and holding on the phone for hours on end with BG so I spoke to Thomas at UGP who was very patient with me, we had 3 different energy accounts that needed switching and he made the whole process very easy. We got very fair rates and I have been very happy with everything. Having people in the UK you can talk to makes such a difference, please keep up the great work!

I don't normally do reviews but have had a few emails from UGP requesting one. Dealing with UGP has always been good with quick responses instead of being in a queue & feels that I'm with a small local Yorkshire company rather than one of the giants. However, the reason I've only given 3 stars is that I was promised that our smart meters could be read remotely, which was an important factor when changing suppliers, as I am not local to where the meters are sited. After signing up to UGP & requesting smart meter readings, I was then told that this wouldn't be possible, which means at the end of every month I now have to do a 25 miles round trip just to read the meters ! Had I been aware of this, I wouldn't have moved to UGP.

I switched to UGP 16 months for price reasons. The switch was relatively easy but despite numerous reminders they were unable to read the meter remotely. They said this should be easy, they tried and failed. Four months ago they said this was fixed, but in fact somehow on that date they managed to disable the night meter. Then they said our meter was broken and needed replacing. We now have a new meter with no instructions on how to read it and still no night meter reading so being charged all electricity at the higher Day rate.
Now not getting any replies to my emails.
This wasn't a good day for you to send me a request to fill in a Trustpilot review.
