Want to be treated like a leper? This was my experience when I took in my 2009 BMW730d to trade for something smaller as I am a recent widow. We brought this beautiful car over from Australia 9 years ago. The staff member was straight up condescending and asked ‘so exactly why are you selling’. I replied my husband had passed. He then said ‘so did you bring this car from Aus?’
‘Yes’
‘Well Turners are basically not interested…..
why?
‘Oh theres floods and fires’

My experience was nothing like the warm and fuzzy ads that Turners promote. I left feeling patronised and sidelined, confused and disappointed.
If they aren’t interested in imports from Australia, they should advertise that!! I drove an hour to get to the appointment.

Supplied a vehicle with dangerous and non WOF compliant brakes faults. Claimed a $10 fix at their mechanics resolved problem, it didn't. Independent AA inspection showing car should not have obtained a WOF. Turners refusing to comply with CGA and have told me misleading information about my rights. Heading to Tribunal now. Simply do not use these fools, especially Christchurch branch

Turners regularly advertise cars incorrectly. They have repeatedly tried to fool buyers with incorrect listing details.

Why try to fob off a BMW 320d as a BMW 335d. This has happened repeatedly, so isn’t simply an error.

I have bought my last two vehicles at turners. All good. Thought about selling my car at turners. Big mistake. I was offered about half of its value. I was offered $4000 to $5000 for my vehicle. I sold it a week later for $10000 . What a rip of turners are. I will never deal with them again. Tina your full of it. Shame on you.

Left with car then realized no rego label. Told ne false info. Would not buy from then again. Not interested once sale made. Vehicle wasn't groomed. Have been a car salesman myself their service is shit.

turners get no stars, do not ever buy a vehicle from this company, you will be told false information and end up with a 5k bill and no vehicle for a year, problem after problem after problem. this company needs to be shutdown

Asked for an evaluation on newish truck took the vehicle in - 3 weeks later no response after many phone calls to their central number who left them messages and me personally calling with no one answering poor service Dunedin do not recommend

They are the worse. I booked car with turners cars on their new subscription. I signed contract with them and gave money upfront. Just two days before pick up they cancelled my subscription and told me they can give any car on rent due to all cars taken off from their website. That's a laziest excuse ever. They even do not care if I go to consumer court. According to them they have big lawyers to protect them. I book hotel and everything just because of turners I lost lots of money and can't do anything about it. Turners are the worse.

These people are scammers and a lost of time. I took my car to them to see how much I would get. It's a CX 5 from 2014 in mint condition, valued on $12000-$14000. They told me they could give me $500 for it... and that if I sold it privately, I would be lucky if I got $5000 for the car... I sold the car for $11000 privately just a few days later. Thanks for nothing...

Went to Turners Cars Penrose with my son to find a car. Adrian went the extra mile on a wet, miserable day to show us cars online at other sites to save us driving all over Auckland. He was never pushy or hard sell and was helpful... polishing up the car body while we saw the accounts lady to do the paperwork. Would go back there from Hamilton to purchase another car at Penrose. Well done guys!

Christchurch branch, Opt-out clauses for 30 days within warranty, they put it in the fine print so they don't have to put a fresh warrant on it despite it being a legal requirement, I wasn't aware until I told people at work, the legality of them putting in opt-out clause in the contract is dubious at best, I went back and fourth asking if they wouldn't mind putting one it, was met with rude replies, probably ended up costing them more in admin than it would have cost putting a $60 warrant on the damn car. Will never go here for a car ever again and do not recommend as a dealership.

Turners auction is a scam. in bidding its one of their own employee bidding all the way to increase the cost of their crap piece of junk car. whatever they mention in comments section and information about car its all crap and wrong. with every car they put in comments buy with confidence its covered with 5 days money back guarantee. when i took the crap car back they started lying that you bought an auction car so it's your responsibility. i don't know what responsibility these turners have towards customers.i got fraud totally never ever go for their auction. the car i bought had all mechanical issues tyres were worn out and they put some shinny chemical on tyres to hide it. Cheaters and fraud

What made this experience great was Gary Dinsdale, finance department at Whangarei depot. He once again took me seriously, answering all questions, showed the patience of a Saint n made sure he thought I could actually afford it. He looked at all options, but was never pushy. And this time I didn't even buy anything from Turners, but my trust in Gary was, and is, absolute.

Just a rip off, do not even to bother to go there. You must be real desperate to sell your car .

Was 20 minutes late to the appointment which I was doing on my lunch hour (because they say it will take no more than 30 minutes) and made me late to work. They didn't even appraise my car, actually they actively avoided telling me its value and instead only said what they would pay me for it. I thought that going to turners car valuation would give me an appraisal of what the car was worth and then an offer of what they would buy it for.

I didn't want to sell it to them, but I wanted the appraisal so I can list it on trade me with an accurate price. They gave me no actual appraisal and avoided giving one when directly asked

They offered me $6k for it. When I laughed the salesman tried to back it up by telling me that they recently sold a 2010 Subaru WRX 190000km manual for $5000. literally absurd, I laughed and left.

Waste of time.

$16,000 on a car 7months ago. Have had to spend a further $7,000 so far as the car is a Japanese import - 7years old and never been serviced. Cam belt and clutch both had to be replaced along with a truck load of other work. Not good enough - and no response to my email either.

To the current General Manager of Turners Cars - Westgate, I hold you personally responsible for none compliance and for not refunding a $200.00 fine as agreed, and for not taking responsibility for my WOF early expiration. Your company did not provide a new WOF on my Toyota Aqua at purchase. After agreeing to refund, you and your whole Team at Turners have gone to ground and I have had to pay this fine that is rightfully yours and have opened a case with LMVD for what its worth. This year I have bought 3 hybrids for my Roofing business at GAF Roofing New Zealand from Turners Westgate and can no longer recommend Turner Cars as reputable and honest. Absolutely unprofessional people who work at the Rotorua office. I used their car subscription service. I was lied to about the mileage I had and then upon dropping my car in on return I was charged with an excess $418 in mileage. They didn’t tell me I needed to clean the car and then stung me with a car cleaning fee at the end too. When I complained about this I was met with defensiveness and hostility by the manager at the Rotorua office and the manager of subscription's. Whatever you do avoid this company at all costs!!!

I would a really give them a 0 rating if that was an option!

My partner won an auction for a car and called the reception at Turners Auction in Hamilton to alert them that we were coming to pick up the vehicle. We had 48 hours to collect the vehicle so we decided to get it as we have work the following day and won't be able to make the cut off date.

The lady on the phone appeared to have a problem comprehending English or understanding anything at all.

We informed her that we were coming down to pick up the car and would like the car to be ready for pick up as we were coming from Auckland. She assured that it would be ready.

Long story short we drive down there and when we arrived, 3 of the admin staff were chatting away and laughing nonchalantly and were obviously uninteresting in helping us. 10 mins later one of them asked us if we were alright? I would have expected a more professional attitude and better customer service than that.

Anyway we told her that we had come to collect the car. We asked her a few questions about the 30 day money back guarantee and she told us that it doesn't apply to auctioned cars? Smfh? And then She did a search on the computer and then got a supervisor to come and speak to us.

While she went to find him we thought we would have a seat while we wait. The chairs were stained and filthy?

The supervisor came and told us that they had to remove the car from the auction due to finding issues with the car and told us we can't take it like that as it is unsafe.

We explained that we had come from Auckland and was told that morning that the car would be ready for pick up. The guy told us we could look around for another car if we like and he would make us a deal or we can take the car as is! (Unsafe much!!??)

So we looked around for another car but they were so overpriced, dirty, many were riddled with cobwebs and definitely not worth buying, so we told him that we couldn't find anything that we liked and he just said he was sorry and there was nothing he could do to help us then.

Seriously, taking the day off work would cost $200 at least and the cost of gas $100 to come from Auckland was what we were annoyed about and to be told this at the last minute, was absolutely ridiculous.

His tone was droll, he didn't even appear interested and I felt like he was judging us, especially when He asked us how much we were thinking of spending? That was besides the point? We just wanted a car at the same price that we had won the Action for, we didn't intend on paying more than that.

Nevertheless, We would have been happy to have been compensated for our time and the trip down with petrol vouchers but ohhh noooo, the sales man just did not give a toss. He said, 'sorry about that' and carried on about his business. It was evident that he really wasn't sorry and didn't give two hoots.

Clean your act up and hire professional staff! The hobos you have working there at the moment is beyond comprehension
