I have been with Cayan/Global…
I have been with Cayan/Global Payment/TSYS for 7 years (2018 to 2025.)I am a therapist in private practice. It took me a while to realize how predatory their services have been. To be honest, I was too busy taking care of other business issues, but every month, I will look at my monthly bills and will just think this is too much, but never got around it. Now that I am cutting down on my expenses and working less, I had a second look at my bills. In the month of March 2025, I had about 15 transactions and I was charge about $500. I was horrified!
After 3 days of self-advocacy and escalating calls, I was refer to an advocate who went over my charges and bills. Come to find out that in 7 years my APR interest jumped to almost 4.9% unbeknownst to me. They say they put their interest charges on the bottom of the bills. It is so small that I was not paying attention. This is my fault. I was too busy making money and forgot that my money was going into this trash company.
I canceled my service in April of 2025. I thought I didn’t have any transactions, but they way they process the payments , it looked like I used them in April for 7 transactions as I was told. I had already blocked them because I thought this was a mistake and change my account. I sent 2 emails and call before to make sure it was correct and no one got to me. So, I blocked them for taking any additional payment…
Needless to say, I still owed them money for the 7 transactions and I wanted to pay them so that I can move forward, plus I am also traveling.
I have been trying to make my last payment with them and it was a nightmare. I was gaslight, manipulated, and referred to multiple departments and people. I called multiple times and multiple emails to the point that I couldn’t take it anymore.
Today I finally made the last payment over the phone. They were supposed to email me my receipt and still haven’t. Thankfully, I demanded customer care to send me a screenshot of my last payment as a proof.
I had to block them from my direct deposit and change all my account information because I don’t trust this business. Please do not do business with them. This is a predatory system that takes advantage of hard worker individuals like you and me.
Unethical and awful practices. Same goes with the unhelpful customer care representatives. I am going to block them from my emails and phone forever because they keep calling . This was bondage and servitude.
Please don’t use TSYS/Cayan Global payment.I wish they can be audited, but who am I kidding! The system is created to take advantage of small businesses like ours. Keep your head up and do your due diligence in the future. I am also to blame because I was not doing my due diligence and checking my invoices as I should have. I have learned my lesson and will do better from now on. If you love yourself and your business, do your part, don’t be like me, and don't use them.
I came across TSYS because 8 years ago the software that I use to take payment from clients had CAYAN as the only option. They put us up for failure. My new merchant is not that wonderful either, but at least I am at 2.5 % APR and $0.30 per transaction. As you can see this is better than +4% APR. Thank you and good luck to you. Dirt Bag Company. If you hate yourself and hate your money then TSYS is for you. Charged me ridiculous fees and "Mandatory Year End" operating fees (no other credit processor has ever done this to me) and stuck me on a tiered system when they said they wouldn't. I "renegotiated" my fees with them several times but that made no difference they came in a GOUGED my bank account monthly. I am so glad to be rid of this company. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

The WORST credit card company we have…
The WORST credit card company we have ever used. They charged us their "Annual Fee" four times in a year for two years and refused to credit any of the fees back to our account. Their processing fees bounce from 3% to 12% from month to month with no warning. Now that we canceled, they are sending threatening emails and letters that they are going to destroy our reputation. We already moved to a much better and legit processor.

DON'T USE THEM!!! We have talked to these guys many times about closing an account we haven't used and have made MANY attempts to close since September 2024. They kept charging us the account fee. Then they started removing it from our bank account twice each month. Now, in the past week, they have removed it from our account FOUR TIMES. This is a breakdown of what has been removed since we have been diligently trying to close the account:
October 2, 2024 - two withdrawals - one for 60.89 and one for 54.96
November 12, 2024 - two withdrawals - both 79.20
December 10, 2024 - two withdrawals - both 50.40
January 10, 2025 - two withdrawals - both 65.40
February 10, 2025 - two withdrawals - both 79.20
February 18, 2025 - two withdrawals - both 79.20
Grand total of the thievery is $822.65
I called our bank today and put a payment block on them which cost us an additional $20, but worth it.
Random/Additional Charges
Never ending additional charges to our monthly statements. Admin "fees" went up $50, from $45 to $95, annual "fees" on a random October statement. PCI fees even if you do the PCI compliance reports.
Overall, just a horrible experience. Worst processor in our 13+ years. I do not recommend them.

Horrible. The denied me then approved me the same day. Few days later they canceled my account, took all my money that was made and charged me an early termination fee when they are the ones that closed my account with no email, call or text informing me if my account closing

Horrible. Expensive. Unnanounced fee increases. unkept promises. At the end of my time with them, my monthly fee just for the "privilege" of using their services was betweeen $350-400 per month. That did not include the nearly 14-17% off the top of each transaction. Terrible. Took me over 2 hours to try to cancel. A promised 50% refund of the annual fee for their servce that I no longer used did not come in the promised time period, necessitating even more time on hold with off-shore call centers to try and get my money back. DO NOT USE THIS MERCHANT PROCESSOR.
Horrible, horrible company, don't even think about using them, unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in charges a month to offset huge fees
$47.50 monthly reputation managment fees, $129 annual fee, endless fees for security checking, and an extremely opaque process for doing security scans quarterly. Most months I pay more to Global Payments then actual charges. Customer service has no ideas why they have the fees or what they mean, only that they are non refundable.
New creative fees for their profit
I have several companies that I have used for merchant services and this one is by far the worst. Constantly coming up with new fees to charge for profit. Now they are charging me a $229 per year fee just to upgrade their infrastructure. Stay far away unless you like paying fees all off the time. No other companies that I use for merchant services charge these fees.

Owned by Global Payments will nickle and dime you to death
I have been with TSYS for years and they were OK. Then they were bought out by GLobal Payments and everything went to shit. Poor customer service, dishonest negotiations, I am paying them 6% of everything I process through them. They also have a hefty yearly fee now too. Do not sign up with them and make sure you don't use anyone with Global Payments.

BUSINESS OWNERS BEWARE AND TURN BACK NOW AWAY FROM TSYS. A representative in 2020 walked me through the PCI compliance information and told me I was set and had to verify every quarter, as of today (7/15/2024) come to find out (via another TSYS employee who knew his stuff) my company was assessed wrong and when I'd miss the "Quarterly" assessment I'd be charged $125.00/month. After speaking with TSYS today, they don't give a damn if they assessed it wrong cause, of course, they don't have proof. Also, they said they never refund any fees for no one. Look up local merchant services and DO NOT USE TSYS. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
Sadly Uncaring
my husband called to see if he could get credit for two months(he had failed to do the compliancy and so they charge $125 each month if you don't do it) The reason was because he had cancer and treatments for three months and also during those months my father declined in heath and ended up passing away in March.
We could provide the death certificate and also bills for my husbands cancer if they needed proof, but the representatives from TSYS didn't even care to hear why or have any sympathy or empathy.
We were just a merchant with a number. Sad my husband was not treated with any fellow feeling or understanding
This company is really bad news
This company is really bad news. I cancelled and they charged me for 5 years. I thought it was my other credit care merchant fee company. They are hard to recognize on your bank statement and also do not send monthly statements via email or mail so you just get auto withdrawals. They were linked with my online scheduler that I cancelled called appointmentsplus another horrible product.

Same here. Charge all kinds of fees. Shippings and others fees. Equipment is old and outdated. Speed is slower then the old phone lines. Sales man lie about any and everything. Promise to take care of issues, but never do or even call you back.
They are liars
They are liars. I have been asking for months for proof that a termination of contract fee exists. I have spoken with them four times. The only notation on my account is a lie saying I agreed to pay and that they have only spoken to me once. The call center says I have to speak to a manager to get a copy of this contract I have never seen. When I am handed to the manager (in under a second so you know it is the clown sitting next to the original call taker) I hear the original call taker giggling in the background. As this new "manager" says he does not have to provide the contract, and he has no obligation to show it to me. This has happened three times. then when you ask for someone in legal they hang up on you. We all know means that no such legal document exists. If this so called agreement existed, then they would have wanted to use it to get payment.

It never gets better at Cayan
I have been a customer of Cayan since 2008--long before it was acquired by TSYS Global Payments. Nothing improved with the acquisition, customers have been burdened with the same dysfunctional Client Support organization that they've had to deal with for years. You are never able to speak with a problem solver at Cayan, instead they have intermediaries answering the phones and relaying your concerns to someone else while you sit on hold. Today I wanted to pre-pay the last four months left on my credit card reader lease--a card reader I quit using in Year One of a three year lease--and was told that Cayan has no mechanism for accepting that payment and closing my account UNLESS I wanted to pay them an Early Termination Fee of $200. Well, I've paid $25.94/month for more than 2 years for a worthless piece of equipment that I haven't used since I got it, so the opportunity to throw good money after bad is not the least bit appealing to me. Yes, they do replace faulty equipment--but sadly all of their equipment is faulty and fails like this one did (often within a week), as we had experienced time and time again. And, they never take the returned equipment off the lease, so you end up paying for the replacement and the returned reader that is no longer in your possession, always a long, tedious phone call to get the accounting corrected because the internal disorganization at Cayan and its affiliates is epic. If you are a small business owner, I'd suggest working with a more reputable and customer-centric company--Cayan and their Genius card readers are anything but.
They charged extra fees
They charged extra fees, kept going on with PCI compliance $40 fee even after I said I didn't understand it and offered no solution. Was able to cancel service (I hope). When I cancelled and said the reason was all the extra fees they said-"you should have said something". I did for over 10 years. Also, surprised to find out that I own the card reader although they can't tell me what I paid for it or when. Would not choose them again.
