Trademark Emergent is a Scam According to USPTO
According to USPTO, Trademark Emergent (TE) is a fraudulent company. Paid $749, including TE fee, for 2 categories of a trademark registration. Only one category was actually registered by TE and shady registrant info submitted on TE's behalf, not mine. After 1-1/2 years, received an USPTO red flag on the registration indicating probable fraud/scam and eventual suspension. TE contacted me to submit more money to move the registration forward. Good thing I was on to the scam at this point. Refiled on my own and requested a full refund from Trademark Emergent. No response from TE regarding the return of my money. Calling all attorneys! A big class action suit in waiting.

I reported them and so should you!!!

STEVEN ELLIS IS A CROOK! After spending $13,000 for fees that they claimed would help me get my trademark, they have not delivered. Furthermore, they stage calls with a "judge" where the judge tells you the applications that you need to complete to contest an opponent applying for the same trademark. They send a list of fees from the USPTO office and they also have the USPTO logo on their documentation. Which is a federal crime. When I called the trademark office, they said my application had not even been reviewed and why would I be talking to a judge unless there was a trial. They cannot say that I am being scammed but they can only provide information as to what the status is of my application. I spoke to 3 different people and know one was aware of the information that the judge and attorney were giving me on our scheduled conference call. This last call, they requested $20000.00 and I almost sent it. But I had a bad feeling and Thank God that I did research because they sound very convincing. They have a legit website and all of their invoice bear the USPTO logo. Fortunately they did not get me for the last $20k, but they do have $13k that I will never see again. $10k is from my father whose heart is failing. I am so broken right now, but life goes on. Please do not trust this company!! Don't do it. They even asked about the condition of my father and knew he was dying before they asked me for another $20k.
100% regret hiring them!
I feel like a dumbass even as I write this, but I got contacted by another company summer of 2022 saying that someone was contesting my business name and logo and offered to Trademark it for me to protect it. I decided to find my own company to do the Trademark and found these guys under a different name, (sadly I can't remember that name now-it's been over a year ago). So, I paid their fees to "rush" the copyright and waited for the trademark to come in a few weeks, as they promised.
However, no trademark has come yet (it's been well over a year) and every few weeks or so they will call me, always from a different phone number, to say the government wants more money or I need to register in more categories which will cost more money, etc. I felt there was something wrong with what they were saying, so I pulled up the list of fees and when I didn't see the fees they were asking for on the government website, I called the trademark office directly a few months later.
The trademark office told me that yes, an application had been filed (which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1) but that everything else they've been telling me is untrue. I am in the categories I need to be in, I don't have any other fees outstanding nor will I. And, the real kicker, they cannot rush a trademark application, so I will just have to wait until the trademark office gets to it, which will be about 1 year.
Today I got a call from them saying my application has been abandoned. How is that possible when they were paid in full to complete the trademark over a year ago? Now I will have to call the trademark office again to make sure, but my gut feeling is this is untrue, too.
I 100% regret ever hiring them to do the application. Turns out, it's not that hard to do yourself and I wasted a lot of money and frustration dealing with them.

David Reimer below- described the same experience I had with TE this week. After asking for another $3,800 to file an opposition, cancellation, to make my case stronger against an "objector" who has the same name as the one I'm working to trademark, and additional applications for my logo and parent company. Also, my business filing is the only one according to them and it was first but apparently, that does not matter. It's confusing and doesn't align with what should logically happen. Attorney (name withheld), whom I cannot find online in association with Trademark Emergent with a simple Google search, offered to waive his $1k fee and set up a payment plan. I did not proceed and now will not proceed after seeing Mr. Reimer's review, which mirror's my experience 100%. But now I'm out of time, trust, and dollars invested so far. I will pursue resolution. I started looking up information on USPTO scams and what they have is helpful but like all organizations, they can't account for each one. I don't know if it's a scam but it feels exactly like that and I have terminated my relationship with this company. I'll probably need to start from square one...
Here is the scam ...
Here is the scam ...
1) They take your money to submit a trademark for multiple classes, but only file for one.
2) They actually do file with the USPTO, but as an individual with your correct name, company and address, they do not list themselves as your attorney (although they claim to be), but they list their email and phone number instead of yours.
3) When the USPTO inevitably files a request for more info, they make a feeble voicemail attempt to contact you about 2 weeks prior to the response deadline, indicating it's urgent and there are going to be challenges.
4) They walk you through everything about your application on the actual USPTO website, then contact a USPTO attorney (not the one listed on your application as the reviewer, BTW), who tag teams with them to try to get you to do several "required" upgrades that "protect your trademark for life" ... specifically Combining sections 8 & 9, Combining Sections 8 & 15, and doing a Logo application ... and they review the USPTO FEES ONLINE TOO!
I contacted the actual attorney on the application, then I asked to speak with the owner of TE and since have asked for a full refund. Naturally, no response. More to come.

Do not trust this company! They will take your money and you’ll never get your trademark. It’s been a year and half and I still haven’t received mine. They want more money to provide a correction to their filing errors. Save yourself time, money and stress. This is a fraudulent business!

The experience was very good. They help me in securing my business name and logo.
Trying to bully customer with scare tactics to purchase products.
After registering online to gather information about trademarking my company's logo and name back in October 19 2022, the call came from Harry Carter from trademarkemergent.com on the 1st week of November telling me that my company's name has been filed in the state of North Carolina for trademark and that unless I purchase the service of trademarking that such name with them right away, they will have to move forward with the North Carolina based filing and I would loose the use of my company name due to trademark infringement law. I quickly became suspicious and did a fast google search on Mr Carter's company, Trademark Emergent +1-213-567-9671 or +1-866-581-3762 at 300 E Esplanade Dr, Oxnard, CA 93036, all the while he was trying to bully me with care tactics and intimidation so I purchase the trademark package from him. I hang up on him after I learned from reviews that they might strongly be a scam, and he kept on calling my phone and kept on trying to scare me. As I did not give into his tactics, I waited a few days and called to file a complaint about his behavior and how unpleasant he was on the phone trying to bully me into buying a product. When I called I Spoke to John Ustanbak that sounded pretty much the same as Harry Carter (thick middle eastern accent) and he did not want to transfer me to a manager unless I gave him a customer name and phone number I was calling about although I clearly stated the reason of my call was to speak about the behavior of Harry Carter and that I wished to remain anonymous unless discussing with a manager. Clearly John wanted to block my call and did not want to take any action regarding my request and stated he was a legal assistant, then a paralegal, then he was a customer service specialist, and never offered to have anyone speak to me about my concerns unless I gave him phone number and name to pull up account info. Just for the record, I only signed into their website to gather information about the process of trademark my company logo and name... and now I am becoming a target for their scare tactics and bullying practices, trying to get me to pay for a service that may just be a scam.

DO NOT PASS YOUR PERSONAL OR YOUR COMPANY INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY. They go after you with all these conflicting fees and that “suddenly” several other name claims are being filed with your name…coincidence??
Trademark Emergent is a scam
Trademark Emergent is a scam! They DID file a trademark application, however for only 1 of the 4 classes they told me they would (but charged me for 4 classes!) They overcharged me by $1300. THEN...they called me and said there was a conflict and that I would have to file my logo in 4 classes plus fees. Additional $6000!! She had me pull up the USPTO website and everything. It looked legit because I had an application with them and it was the government website. They also had people calling me from the "USPTO" office. I had a feeling it wasn't right, so I called the USPTO phone number. THANK GOD! They had only filed one class $350 and they hadn't even assigned a reviewer for my application yet!! DO NOT USE. Reporting to the better business bureau.
