We have a mini daschund, 3 years old and faced many challenges with him.

Soiling in the house, reactiveness and a slight bit of aggression.

We recently brought our newborn home and unfortunately he didnt take to well. He was highly uncomfortable with her presence and was beginning to growl and show some serious signs of discomfort.

We booked henry for a 2 hour session and the results have been amazing!

Structure has been restored to both the dogs life and our life, He has been crate trained within a week, doesnt bark at people on walks and is beggining to settle with the new baby on board also.

We cannot recomend him enough.

Henry has changed our lives in a way that is hard to convey in words. Our rescue dog Shay, a lurcher with severe separation anxiety and reactivity to bigger dogs, has been able to stay on his own unbothered, calm, no panting, after training with Henry for only 2 hours - and with us reinforcing training over the following 4 to 5 weeks. For 3 years and after working with several dog trainers (including applying the Julie Naismith anxiety training twice) and years of anxiety medication, Shay destroyed doors, curtains, soiled himself and heavily reacted to bigger dogs on the street. With Henry’s method, he is now finally able to understand we don’t leave for good (we weren’t able to even grocery shopping at peace) and that bigger dogs are not a threat. I’d recommend his services to anyone with a dog suffering from separation anxiety or reactivity - there’s hope!

Henry was out to us today (March 31st 2026) for our 4yr old GSD boy, Mika. He has no self control and to strangers (anyone else but us two) he can be extremely aggressive. He's never bitten, but then he's never had the chance to bite.
Henry saw him in all his glory, with his deep brown bark and behind a gate to keep him in the hallway. Sadly, this dog has no food drive, so trying to treat for good behaviour just fell flat.
Henry showed us how to gain control from the get-go. Before he left, Mika was in the garden with us, off his lead, no muzzle, no aggression towards Henry at all.
After an hour of him leaving, I had a chance to put the training into practice. It took less than 10 seconds for the dog to sit & stay - where before he would have paced for a good 30 minutes getting crazier by the minute, having lost control of himself totally.
This has been a long time coming and I can finally see a way forward.
Henry didn't only train the dog, he also trained my husband to get us both singing from the same hymn sheet - of course, this has now all been hubby's idea all along...... !!
I can't thank Henry enough - next week we have family here, so we'll be getting heaps of practice - and I'm not even dreading it!

Due to ill health we were not able to devote the time to house train or crate train our two little pups. One is 8 months old and the other is 6 months. They've been allowed run amuk . We needed professional help before they got any older. We didn't even know where to begin. Henry from topdogtraining.ie visited our home yesterday (April 1st). He was so helpful. His advice was clear, concise and very much to the point. The two pups slept in their crates all night. The older one has not gone to the toilet in the house since Henrys visit. The smaller one attempted to pee in the house but with Henrys clear instruction we were able to avert her from peeing until outside. They've been in their crates today and no concerns at all. Henry achieved this progress in LESS THAN ONE DAY!! He's amazing at what he does and highly, highly recommend him for any canine needs. We're only sorry that we didn't get him earlier.

Our rescue dog was a prolific barker, it caused the whole family daily stress. Walking her she barked at everything and everyone and pulled on the leash the whole time, it was not an enjoyable experience. Henry came to the house and I was optimistic he could improve her behaviour in a 2 hour window of time but boy was I wrong! Within 5 minutes she was responding to training and within 10 minutes the barking stopped when the doorbell was pressed. We got a training lead for walking her and she was walking very well within a few minutes of going outside. A few times I had to look down because I was convinced she had slipped her lead due to the lead being so slack and her not pulling at all. I'm loving walking her now! We are still training and will be for the next few weeks but the first 4 days since Henry was here have been a roaring success...long may it continue! It's expensive but worth every penny, its an investment for the whole life of your dog! Our dog is now a much calmer and happier little lady.

We are absolutely delighted with the work that Henry did with our Dog Kobi a number of weeks ago. We had a very energetic and jumpy labrador retriever and from the moment Henry entered our house he was absolutely fantastic, not only dealing with our beautiful dog, but also in how he related to us as owners. He brought a sense of calmness and authority to our rules and interaction with the dog and the difference in the last month has been astounding. The best thing about Henry is that he’s always there at the end of the phone if you have a question or a consideration in regards to progressing Kobi’s training. We would 100% recommend Henry and have now got an amazing dog who walks side-by-side and also interacts really kindly with the kids in our house. Thank you Henry!

Henry made the trip all the way out to me in West Clare. From the start he had my 4month old GSH obeying commands. My big problem with her was her jumping up on people, counters, the couch (and the newly erected Christmas tree!). Henry used his knowledge and expertise to stop her from doing this, and taught me what words to use and what not to do. We also went for a walk and he showed me where I could improve and make necessary changes for her safety. Now I just need to train the rest of my family. Thanks Henry, already I'm enjoying a cup of tea, and able to watch TV without her jumping up. An early Christmas present

Had Henry to our house yesterday as we were having a lot of problems with our 6 month old cocker spaniel puppy , nothing was too much trouble and 24 hrs later the improvement is incredible , the training session was highly informative and explained very well and Henry took time to make sure we were all on the same page moving forward .The great thing about Topdog is you can get advice any time you need it in the future and they keep in touch with you after the initial training session for a few days in case you are having teething problems .Would highly recommend Topdog training I'm only sorry I didn't contact Henry sooner but better late then never !

Control in the house restored, no longer does the dog walk us, no longer does the dog decide when things happen or whether we can leave the house, nightmare is over and relationship restored.
Our 2 year old lurcher doberman Rick, knew the basics, knew the tricks, and is super intelligent but suffered from FOMO, so much so we couldnt go to bed and close the door without constant chuffing and whining.
We couldnt leave the house as he would destroy anything in his way out of pure stress.
Henry came and 2 hours later we had the tools to gain back control while giving Rick the tools also to enjoy being alone and understand we weren't abandoning him.
Great training, even better results and check ins to make sure all remains in track.

We got Henry to come and help us with our 5 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback. From the moment Henry arrived he began to make instant changes in our dogs behaviour. Jumping up, recalling, walking. Right before our eyes she listened to his words and began to learn! An absolutely fascinating experience for us and now we have a well behaved dog too! Henry is worth his weight in gold!
There is also no issue with follow up with a few queries afterwards Henry is always ready to help.

We had Henry out with us during the week and he has worked wonders with our dog. There was issues with lead pulling, obedience etc. To be honest when I read his reviews I was sceptical paying so much for the service but it was worth every penny. It takes 4-6 weeks but already there is huge improvement. Thanks Henry.

Henry saved us we were at breaking point with our cocker spaniel.he was counter surfing always looking for food and he began to get aggressive with us at night time.which was down to his food.Henry thought us how to go on a nice calm walk with the dog and no pulling and how to stop him jumping up on visitors.After 2hours training we have a completely different dog.we highly recommend Henry to help with whatever problems you have.Do not hesitate to call him.

We had a 2-hour session with Henry for our two dachshunds our older one, Wally, has really struggled with reactivity and the younger one was starting to copy him. Henry was firm but fair with Wally. We saw such a big change even during the session in the park around other dogs which we have went before and have had a very stressful time with barking and lunging hurting his back legs in the process . We were able to walk by dogs and Wally would disengage which was amazing to see him that way as opposed to being so on edge !

Henry explained everything so clearly, from food and crate time to how to correct bad behaviour both out and about and at home. He shared loads of helpful tips we started using right away, and we’re already seeing real progress both on walks and when dealing with separation anxiety at home.

Just two days later we went for a walk and managed to pass two dogs with a small but not anything major reaction, which we never thought would happen! We’ve worked with other trainers before and got nowhere, so to see improvement this fast has been amazing. We can’t wait to see what progress we make when we keep at it and how much happier both our dogs are when out and about or alone at home !

We had such a great experience working with Henry from Top Dog Training! We had a great experience with Henry. We’ve just had a newborn and were really worried about how our dog would cope. She used to bark at everyone walking past and react to car doors, vans, and any doorbells, even the neighbours.

Henry immediately put us at ease and showed us clear ways to train out those behaviours and build better ones instead. It’s been effective from day one, and our dog is already much calmer and easier to manage.

The aftercare has been great too. Henry has been checking in regularly to see how she’s progressing, which really shows how much he cares about getting the best outcome.

We’d definitely recommend him to anyone struggling with barking or reactive behaviour. It has made such a difference for us.

We recently had a session with Henry to help with our almost five-month-old puppies, Louie and Toby — and I’m honestly blown away by how much progress we made in just over three hours. The pups and Henry clicked instantly.

Together, we created a plan to start crate training. I was initially hesitant, but Henry clearly explained the how and why, and it all made perfect sense for my boys. We also worked on recall and obedience training, how to reduce nipping/jumping, reviewed their diet and made a few adjustments, and discussed every concern — big or small — including how to make walks more enjoyable.

The walks guidance has been a total game changer. Toby can be quite nervous outdoors and easily distracted by people and noises, but with Henry’s guidance, he’s already showing amazing improvement in staying calm and focused. I’m finally looking forward to our walks again 😊

After just three hours, the puppies are coming when called, toileting outside, relaxing comfortably in their crate (something I never thought would happen!), and mastering commands like “sit,” “stand,” “down,” and “spin.”
