I’m extremely disappointed with my experience using Thrift+.

I sent a bag of clothes to be resold, expecting a straightforward and transparent process. Unfortunately, a number of items have gone missing with no clear explanation as to what happened. These were good quality pieces, and the lack of accountability has been really frustrating.

What’s even more disappointing is the response from customer service. Communication has been slow and vague, and I haven’t been given a satisfactory resolution or any real clarity on where my items have gone.

I chose Thrift+ because I liked the idea of sustainable fashion and trusted them to handle my items responsibly. Sadly, this experience has completely undermined that trust.

I won’t be using the service again and would caution others to think carefully before sending in items of value.

I had spotted a few items on Thrift and out in offers. It was over the Easter weekend so there was a slight delay but the offers were accepted and I received my parcel within a couple of days. All items as described and great value - can't wait to wear them!

This company may be great for purchasing items, but do not consider giving your clothes away unless you only care about getting pennies / almost nothing back in most cases.
I chose to give Thrift a go as I was sick of other selling platforms / carboot sales and had enough nice pieces that I didn’t want to just give away… but I wish I did give to charity now. Thrift has a system where they only accept certain brands in certain conditions. Fair enough. I knew that only a handful of my clothes would be accepted for resale and the rest would be recycled or reused - but even fewer made it to the selling pile than I anticipated. When I enquired about this, the response was that the clothes weren’t in tip top condition. Of course not as they are used, and this platform is all about recycling and reusing previously owned clothes.

It is also important to mention that you don’t get money from them in exchange for your clothes. They do the checks, they price and upload photos of items to the platform and get rid of the items that they do not accept. You do not have a say in any of this once you send your package off with your clothes inside.

One of my items had just sold - amazing! But I’ve only recieved 49p for it as Thrift obviously take a cut.

This is all to say REALLY check the T&Cs. I did and I was still caught out. I think the company has tainted this system a bit, making it sound more appealing and rewarding than it actually is.

The only good thing is that my clothes aren’t just going in the bin, they are going to charities or factory’s for reuse purposes

So far the selling process has been very slow and overly complicated.
One of my items was sent to the authenticity team to verify whether is was a Balenciaga bag. It isn't!
The bag clearly has an & Other Stories label inside. One of their photos is even of the label.
I contacted them to tell them that they'd made a mistake, but the AI chatbot didn't understand me.
I've now had an email telling me that the bag failed authenticity and that I have to pay them £6 for it to be returned to me. It's only worth that much.
I used Thift+ for the convenience as I don't have a car to take stuff to the charity shop. It's a great concept but it's too difficult to speak to someone when an error has been made.
Looking back over the emails it looks like I might have been able to amend the original listing but you only get 3 days to do that, so be quick!
I won't use again and I won't recommend.
Thift+ I don't want the bag back! Either list the item as it is an & Other Stories bag or give it to charity please.

I have bought from thrift + many times over the past few years and would always recommend them as a great place to 'charity shop' online.
However, I decided after a declutter to send a bag for selling.
I followed all the instructions and sent my bag on 17th March 2026. I tracked it and it was delivered on 18th March. I did not receive any form of confirmation or receipt of delivery. I have waited, I have used the online chat box and been told my concerns had been marked as urgent, escalated and a member of the customer service team would be in touch. Still nothing. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing. I know that they have my clothes, but no communication whatsoever. It was acknowledged that the time frame was over what they consider normal. But still no-one contacts me. This is theft and if I do not hear anything soon I will be contacting trading standards. Absolutely awful service. I will not use again or recommend.

What a joke of a company.

Customer service is non existent. They use the worst courier service in the history of courier services (didn’t pick up my parcels five times in a row) and then just ghost you when you ask a refund for the bags.

Complete waste of time and money. Don’t bother.

I’ve been trying to give your company my money for weeks and all you’ve done is waste my time and effort.

I love using Thrift+ when I need to declutter.

I can give clothes a second chance whilst making money for charities. A great bonus!

This website was my first venture into shopping for pre-owned. I like that you can order as much as you want with only one p&p charge and you can return items which aren’t suitable with no fuss. I have been on a weight loss programme for 2 years, so keeping up with sufficient quality clothing as my size changed was so much more affordable. Most items are as described, some are not, mostly because sizing from different brands or American sizing can be variable. Don’t be put off by things with signs of wear, they are often very minor and are better bargains. My last order of 6 items for £73 included a wool/cashmere cardigan which appeared unworn, would have been double the cost of the whole order. You don’t get a great price when selling, but if like me you don’t want the effort of sending individual items to buyers, it’s a great way of recycling unwanted items and supporting sustainability.

Have been using Thrift + since it started some years ago. I love the fact that you can have bags delivered and collected from your home with clothes you wish to sell and also to buy. I build up
Credit which I can use to buy clothes for myself or have it paid into my account. I love to recycle and this makes it so easy. Moving bags of clothes around when you live in a rural area is not easy so the home collection and delivery is key to their service as far as I am concerned. I do recommend Thrift + to my friends .

Very clear, quick, easy to use

It took sometime before my items eventually sold but thankfully it did sell. The only downside for me are the fees. They are too high in my opinion. They should consider reducing it a bit so profit is split 50/50 not for example 30/70. Other than that a great first experience

firstly, what a brilliant idea for a company - saving people from having to go and trawl through things in charity shops.
easy to see what's on offer and the quality, details about the item. Really reasonable pricing and great choice at various price points, as well as the opportunity to bid/offer at a lower price.

I buy most of my clothes second-hand for environmental and poverty reasons. I love this website that allows me to filter by size, colour and condition. It is cheap and efficient. I have never had any problems with any clothes ordered. I recommend it to all my friends.

Finally thought I could declutter my wardrobe with a ready to go service. In reality the cost for you sending clothes is too much and not to mention the cost for having items sent back ‘someone’ seems unsatisfactory. No images/proof given as to why items aren’t wanted but I sent2 full large bags in: nearly new or new clothes in with tags and then had to pay £20 to get them back.

An absolute scam.

There was a lack of transparency in my view around what would and would not be sold; I sent in a full bag of the approved branded clothes, in great condition, which would have sold for £10-20 on Vinted or eBay; all apparently recycled with no option to challenge the decision. Only one item from my whole bag was listed to sell, and I can't even cash out my measly £3.66 from a £20+ sale because it's under the £5. So basically, I sent 15+ great items I could have otherwise sold, for £0 return. Oh, and I paid for the privilege. So I've actually lost money using Thrift+. I'd have sooner taken them to a charity shop if I had fully understood the business model beforehand. What a joke.

I’ve had a terrible terrible experience and service by Thrift I must’ve sent back about seven bags full of mainly designer clothes. Majority of them have never been worn and still got labels were thousands and thousands of pounds and they kept emailing me for the last four months saying we’re still trying to go through all the bags, they haven’t sold a single item and they’ve kept all my clothes and they keep emailing me to say that they’re unsuitable absolutely unacceptable. A lot of of them were designer clothes 80% was in great condition. Never even been worn with labels and they’ve done absolutely nothing in four months and kept all my clothes. I feel like I’ve just been robbed.

Scam company, sent a bunch of items which they decided to reject the expensive ones and send to charity instead of putting on the store as it ‘had a mark on it’ it didn’t - it was a £140 super dry winter coat, brand new condition, then gives you the option to have items returned for £10 but website will put you in a login loop so you can’t fill out details to get item returned. Will never use again. And hope other people learn from my laziness- just use Vinted/ eBay in future even if it takes a bit longer to put items up for sale.

Don’t bother with this company, you will lose your time.

For one you have to pay for shipping yourself even though you are giving THEM items

But that is not the worst. They use Evri as courtier and only pick up possible. That is already a recipe for disaster

I was stuck at home all day to wait for their collection then received notice that they tried but couldn’t find me at home. I lost my time and I’m frustrated now.

As such I don’t want to give you this company anything anymore, will go to the local charity and put them there

The concept is great but it has taken 6 weeks for one bag to be processed and most my items were rejected because they don’t accept those brands which I wasn’t aware of (perhaps I did not read the small print) I would have sold them through other methods had I have known, my other bag I’ve sent is estimated to take 10 weeks to process, this is not a quick send and sell service it takes a long time and many brands are not accepted.

As a seller on this site, it’s the worst. Yes, you get to send a bag, but luckily I only sent one to test. It took months to go online and when it sold it went for 1/10 value even for new items and most of the money went to thrift +, not me. Avoid.
