Travel agent who has forgotten the reason why they exist. Booked a holiday to the Maldives and as last minute used an agent. I asked if the resort was safe travelling on my own and it took two days to get a descent answer and lots of questions. It was about the flights increasing I am told every day when they add an extra 2000 each day. I was so specific with my requirements. First they forgot to add baggage thank goodness I looked. Which I paid extra for once I had complained they apologised and agreed it was their mistake. I get to the airport and am told by the airline the travel agent should not have chosen this flight it’s the cheapest flight and don’t miss it or you will not be refunded. Despite having insurance! Which they also sold me. Then I get to the hotel and it’s overbooked. So I have to stay in another oom while I can’t unpack until they are ready to move me to a standard room not a beach bungalow. Which I must do. The booking is a superior room on beach on the website there is no superior room so have to assume it’s correct. I see it’s the cheapest room. The hotel is just simply irritated because the don’t know I paid 3000 pounds for this holiday. Clearly all profit for the booker and the client loses out. No Intervention by the agent.. it would have been easier for me to book direct and it seems a hell of a lot cheaper and I would have had what I wanted. Thompsons people book holiday for many reasons and for some it is a break for a significant reason you have forgotten customer service and have forgotten your role .the only reason you exist is to match the requirements of the customer with a destination and hotel. You don’t live up to the values on your website which are “ providing value beyond price through trusted partnerships, personalized and responsive service, and a deep understanding of travel and destinations.” You had no understanding of this destination or listened or match requirements. I am sitting in my room writing this in the intent I feel better putting my words in writing, given no one from Thompsons is coming back to me. Big fat zero don’t use them for any travel easier and cheaper to do it yourself

We have just booked a holiday with Thomson Holidays at trostre Park llanelli, we were served by Emma, who was excellent from the start to the end, went above and beyond her duty, everything was explained thoroughly and with a lovely smile throughout, 5star service
Lanzarote booking
we hadn't used Thomson travel for a few years, but when we went into the Dunfermline Branch Helen remembered us right away. We booked our holiday to Lanzarote and also our car parking with no problem at all. We chatted and felt really relaxed
TUI Holidays
Had a call today with TUI as they took the money from my bank account but didn't send a confirmation email. I spoke to a girl called Hunya she went above and beyond to help me. I entered the incorrect year of birth for my Son, so she had to go to a lot of trouble to find the booking. I was on the phone over an hour and she also went to the trouble of linking an additional booking so we may get to sit together on the plane. Thank you Hunya.
My three week vacation for Christmas …
My three week vacation for Christmas through to new year was cancelled at the end of last month, because Thomson/tui will not be using my booked hotel, they offered me a poor substitute that lacked disable facilities for my partner, as they could not offer me a suitable holiday, my booking was cancelled, I now have to wait 14 working days to get a refund, therefore without this money, and at such a late stage, I am unable to book another holiday, I would not use this company again, even getting to speak to a customer service agent, is a nightmare, as they cut off your call.
Really dissapointed with Thomson
Really dissapointed with Thomson, being in travel industry myself. Booked a holiday for this summer 2021 with them last november, trying to keep us all going and presumed with all the flexability and easy to change promises we would be ok to change if issued arrise like it has with current problems. Paid £450 deposit, called to change the holiday today that we found with tjem onlin that we liked for January 2022. Due to 2 of our eldest opting out of new dates because of sixth form etc, Tompson wants us to pay over £1000 cancellation charges on flights that are not ticketed (turkish airlines) and hotels they have not paid for as of yet. So they are not flexible at all, read the samll print before booking, You would think human interaction would prevail, but not here. I told them it would be cheaper to lose my deposit and re book only to be bluntly told, finance department would be quick to contact me to chase the funds. My hope is this turkey holiday holiday in august is cancelled by them, they are forced to issue a refund of deposit and they can stick any future holidays up where sun dont shine, Oh the last holiday i had with them was for £18,000 and this was for £8,000, my holidays are nomally around the 12-15K mark so the next 10 years of £150,000 will go elsewhere. I just wanted to change the booking and stay with them, nothing difficault. There big can change and were flexible is not as it seams, its a way to get you in and smash you with amendment charges and small print. Not good and not really bad show for the industry right now.

Nightmare
Terrible how this company, that I have been with for years has gone so far down hill. I booked a holiday that was cancelled re booked and was told that this holiday was cancelled due to government guidance I paid £560 paid. I then booked another holiday only to find the second booked holiday was actually going ahead! Booked tests with Chronomics and they haven’t arrived. No one can get through to this company even Thomson. End result loss of £760! Unbelievable. I have to now re-tests and get new insurance. It’s all so stressful and you can’t speak to anyone about it. And I still haven’t left the ground! It all could get much much worse. I feel I have been scammed and scammed again.

Do NOT use this airline. They don’t even deserve 1 star. Jet 2 always! TUI gave me an ultimatum last year. They said I had 3 days to make a decision whether to RISK losing my holiday altogether n all the money I’d paid by cancelling (if Spain wasn’t considered a red zone I wouldn’t be refunded COVID money) or I could postpone my holiday to the following year for £50 each. I postponed it at this time to October 2021 as was too scared to lose the £1200 I paid for my holiday. I phoned up to try and cancel my holiday today (due to anxieties regarding COVID) and was told I’d lose £650 due to £400 cancellation fee (£200 per person) and id also lose the amendment fees which I’d paid to move dates etc because of COVID (which was encouraged to do by TUI). So I’d be left with £550 out of a £1200 price paid? Absolutely sickening. Jet 2 refunded all their customers without even asking what they wanted- refunds given to every passenger rapid. Whereas all TUI have done is cause anxiety and stress. They charge you for EVERYTHING. I then asked to make a complaint but was told they don’t have a complaints line and if I wanted to do this I’d have to seek legal advice? Which they know people won’t do as lawyers are costly. I am NEVER booking with TUI again, all they do is steal money from people. Not to mention the terrible “customer service”. Asked to speak to a manager 3 times and whenever I was “ getting transferred to one” the person hung up. Funny that. Sickened and disappointed. Never use this company!!

The customer service team is the worst. I was asking to speak to a manager and he said I’m not letting you speak to one and then puts the phone down on me. They are so rude and not helpful at all. Even though they have us on hold for so long. I am never using this airlines ever again

Just phoned thomson to query flight that now does not exist. They confirmed there was no flight but would have to speak to one of the agents. Put me through and hung on the line for 1 hour 30 minutes with no one answering

4 hours on hold then overcharged. Avoid.
Was an hour and 43 minutes on hold then got cut off. Tried again and Waited 4 hours on hold with the most horrid nasty repeat 'music'!! Obv by time I got to speak to someone the Web page for my hol I wanted to book had changed and Doubled in price!! I then found a different hol she took my card number but didn't tell me amounts being taken. When I looked on my credit card I'd been charged an extra £30!Tried to phone to get refunded but gave up after 2hr 47 min wait! Plus I had to wait 3 days for them to allocate my seats and upload my booking. The seats given are the worst ever right by the loos at back where the seats are cramped and stuffy.i can't log on to website to change. There local shop is shut and I can't get through on the phone. Ugh! Worst company ever!Total stressed out. Nightmare!

Marella discovery hell
Went to the far east on discovery I Dec 19. The ships engine caught fire missing kou samui and trip booked. 8 hour delay on our flight home. Captain was rude and lied to all on board. Applied for refund for missed trip and delayed flight by e mail. Still not had refund and was told I won't get one. Have always travelled with Tui and have done 5 cruises. Will never use them again. What has happened to this company sad

Cancelled my holiday on 18th march before all this, due to hubby having cancer treatments, tui told me we would get full refund in 3/5 days. Guess what????

Rang Thompsons to cancel a holiday we have booked for September to Italy , wanted to cancel as I dont want to pay any more of the deposit because we like a lot of people do not want to go abroad this year . When I rang I explained I would change the holiday to another one for 2021 so long as I did not lose any of the deposit I had already paid . But the guy on phone was having none of it and no matter what I did he had me losing money , what's all this about customer Satisfaction??? . I have had 6 holidays booked through Thompsons over last 2 years but I'll never ever again book a Thompson holiday. All there interested in is taking money off you for a cancelled holiday that we would not have felt safe going on .
Tried to check in on line for my flight…
Tried to check in on line for my flight from Manchester and was unable to do so, I followed all of t.u.i. instructions i.e. check in 48 hours before flight, eventually 'phoned a helpline ( the day before my flight) and was told the flight was now leaving from Gatwick!
I wrote to TUI and posted the letter recorded delivery, that was in November 2019, to date I have not even had the benefit of an acknowledgment let alone an explanation.
Appalling customer service.
My daughter & partner were taking their 3 little boys, one who has additional needs, on holiday flying from Manchester to Turkey. The flight was delayed before the date of flying but on the actual day, it was delayed several times before being cancelled. The family were given no information and it was midnight before a hotel was found for them. They had been at the airport from 3pm! No help was given getting to hotel, no toiletries or other essentials. No vouchers for breakfast. The next day, they were told to be at the airport for 4pm, still wearing the previous days clothes etc. Again the flight has been delayed twice and they do not know when they will fly. Still no information, compassion or empathy. My grandson and daughter are distraught and my grandson may take weeks to recover from this trauma.

Don't tell me it's 'supply and demand' when it was £300 over night. It's actually disgusting how holiday providers are jumping on the bandwagon and putting their prices up off the back of Thomas Cook. It's just greed. We were booking with Travelsoon, who luckily and very nicely didn't take payment, and therefore didn't lose out on any money. But we'd already lost one holiday, just not going to book one now.
