After months of looking at different kitchen companies I was running out of time and needed to make a decision. A friend in the trade suggested The White Kitchen Company and even though it meant a trip from London to Northampton I decided to go and have a look, I’m really glad I did.

The showroom is lovely and well laid out. Being able to see and touch the kitchens in person, along with the tiles, worktops and appliances, was really helpful. The team worked with me on my ideas and we refined everything over a few weeks until I was happy. The delivery came exactly when they said it would.

The quality is impressive. These are solid, well made kitchens and nothing like the flat packed chipboard carcasses with only solid wood doors that you see elsewhere. The drawers open smoothly and the wood interiors smell and feel like real quality. The little details are done properly, the kind of thing you just don't see much anymore.

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Rima and Martyna in particular made me feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

I went for the full design, supply and fitting and had my own painter finish the units on site. They had no problem with that at all. I’m so happy with how it has turned out and would happily recommend them to anyone. I will be going back when I am ready for my dressing room.

Ive had the kitchen about 6 months now and Im really upset by the quality of it. Its been very lightly used and there are so many dents in the doors. The smallest bump seems to damage it. The internal shelves are the worst, just having a heavy item on them leaves permanent indents. The experience of designing and ordering the kitchen itself was bad enough. I had to check and double check everything as so many basic mistakes were made. I wasnt listened to at all. But then after all that hassle I went through for the kitchen itself to be easily damaged is just the icing on what was a very unpleasant cake.

A smooth and stress-free experience. We are so pleased with our kitchen and the quality of the workmanship. Vaughn our designer was very approachable and professional, accommodating changes to our requirements as we went along. Also very impressed by the skilled work of George and George in fitting it.

Really pleased with the kitchen we used on our latest project in Northamptonshire. A breeze to install, great quality, and it really finishes the house off nicely. I’m sure it’ll help sell the house

I was interested in buying a kitchen from this company but was truly shocked and a bit intimidated by the unpleasant and threatening manner of the owner. I took my business elsewhere and am thrilled with the result.

What a truly awful company. The cabinets are fine. The owner is the most unpleasant person I’ve bought anything from. If there are not more negative reviews, my suspicion is that that is because they are so aggressive and threatening to customers who leave poor reviews- even threatening legal action, less than 24 hours after the issue had been rectified (just about adequately, but I’m incredibly disappointed nevertheless). If there are no hiccups you’ll probably be fine, but if anything goes wrong you may run into the same terrible service. After what to be fair was an honest mistake on their part, with the cabinets painted the wrong colour, they did not set a date to rectify it until after I left a negative review. The only call I had from the director was peevish and clearly intended primarily to tell me to change my review rather than to seek to understand. The paint had barely dried and instead of asking if it now looked ok, he was instantly threatening and aggressive. Their response on google ads is actively untrue - the dates for the repaint were not scheduled for some weeks after works had finished, not until we left a negative review which is all they seem to care about.

Avoid this company and definitely don’t hand over the £500 deposit they request, which according to our receipt is for a deposit towards furniture. This is supposed to be fully credited against your order. However, despite our best efforts we found it impossible to place an order. At times I thought they were a fake company. Even though we provided them with design drawings for our kitchen and utility room, meaning they didn’t need to design it, but just draw it up for a quote and we gave architect plans with detailed room and cross section drawings and measurements, they couldn’t get the design or measurements right. They didn’t meet the timelines promised, design drawings deviated from what we gave them, significantly exceeded the agreed budget, and worse still wouldn’t have fitted! Although the mistakes were made by the sales assistant/designer, they said we only had 1 more chance to get it right, meaning 1 more design. The implication was we’d have to pay another £500 for them to get the drawings right. The 2nd attempt still had mistakes, but despite designing a kitchen and utility room that was not fit for purpose or as agreed we were put under considerable pressure to hand over a 50% deposit. The Terms & Conditions clearly stated that customers must check dimensions are correct, but the sales person said the T&Cs were wrong and all the mistakes they had made would be dealt with after we paid a 50% depoit. At this point I submitted a formal complaint to the Director - Christopher Proudfoot who claimed there wasn’t much wrong with the designs and refused to return the furniture deposit claiming it was for wages, which is not what the invoice or the T&Cs state. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter, this is now pending court action.
