The solar centre has a fantastic range of lights and we have bought many of them over the years for our garden and also as gifts to friends. When some fairy lights stopped working recently we received excellent customer service from Ella and the faulty ones were replaced straight away. I really recommend this company and their lights have given us much pleasure over the years.

Absolutely excellent service good product will definitely use again

Absolutely appalling experience from ordering through to customer 'service'. I ordered an item as a gift to be sent to an address other than mine. I had to check a box stating delivery address was different than billing and enter this address - fine. Website did not ask me if this was to be a default mailing address. THEN i ordered something for myself. I was asked to and actually ENTERED my own address, pressed enter...and the order was immediately completed and sent to the address for previous order, i wasnt asked permission to send to an address other than billing. I know that the website glitched because this second order isnt showing on website but i have been charged.

Website says 'email if any issues with your order' and doesnt allow you make any changes yourself (even on orders that are showing). I do this. Customer 'service' took a working week to respond and all they said was 'order already shipped'. Didnt look into the issue on their computer. I replied that i was not happy with their response and got another reply 'we're busy, you should phone with urgent queries'.....basically solar centre customer service cba!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Zero stars if I could! Terrible customer service, takes ages to respond. Sent me a defective item, which I sent back to them, to which they claim had no fault, so basically they are calling me a liar, and now I am awaiting a refund! I have had to file a claim against them because they are taking their sweet time refunding me. Not happy at all, and I will never buy from this company again, and if you had any sense, you wouldn't either!
Update: Promised me a refund today 01/06/2026 and they STILL HAVEN'T REFUNDED ME!

Have bought a number of products in their ranges for our garden over the past 4 or 5 months and I will be honest; they do look great. BUT I have just had to email AGAIN to inform them of more faults with the items purchased in good faith. That must be the 3rd or 4th time which surely is not right - i mean are they supposed to be able to withstand being outdoors so why the failures. Customer service responses to deal with issues and ship out replacements is good however i have real reservations about their overall product quality control standards.

Peak pro solar lights. We ordered 11 altogether. 7 have failed within 2 months. They have replaced 2 of the lights and I have requested a replacement for the remaining failed lights. This really isnt on considering they are £20 a unit. Can't be as good a quality as description on website. The batteries are rustynsonl leaking in to the units

Would leave no stars if possible, shocking customer service parcel is missing never received it won’t replace or refund basically blaming the customer

I bought the Shadworth light back in November, it failed straight way. I was sent a replacement and didn't use it over the winter so brought it out a few weeks ago, charging the solar panel (very small) for a couple of weeks. Needless to say, It didn't work. I didn't want another but was told by Solar Centre that because I was one week over the warranty ( 6 months) I couldn't be refunded or receive a credit toward a more expensive item. So I had to accept a replacement. Really bad - bad enough being sent items that don't work and then no flexibility with the 'company policy'. If I hadn't followed all the checks they tell you to before confirming the fault it would still have been under warranty. I have been a customer for years as well making several purchases. Has put me off purchasing again. So please be aware, up until now I have found the company good but something seems to have changed.

I have used the solar centre many times over the years for their products with 100% satisfaction, they provided great long lasting quality products at a good price.
Ella and Nicole in customer support are fantastic and a credit to the company.

Still waiting for refund 15/5/26 they received products on 8/5/26.

The mushroom lights retuned were not used as they were so flimsy they would not have lasted anytime at all due to poor quality.

They said I should have watched the video about them, I said it should have been in the description.
Not a company I will deal with again.

Used solar centre for year. Fantastic products. Problems resolved efficiently,promptly and with great customer care. In our experience cannot be faulted. Keep it up. Thankyou

Just received 2 large sphere solar lights, appear to be very well made and well packaged so far impressed and hope to purchase more products from this company hopefully they last a few seasons. PBK

Would give 0 stars if I could. Bought a set of 10 Pluto post lights, put them up and 5 out 10 did not work. Contacted Customer Service and had to wait a few days for a response. Then they asked for a photo. More than two weeks on, multiple emails to and from and requests to return the lights for a refund and still no resolution. Eventually got a code for a return label but the system that generates the labels after you fill in all the relevant information does not work, the button 'create label' doesn't do anything. Still waiting for a response from Solar Centre. Terrible product and appalling Customer Service, would never buy anything else from Solar Centre.

Ordered some wall lights with the heading of free delivery. Go to pay and then get a receipt with £4.99 delivery added. This charge is for a quick next day delivery! Why would one pay for delivery on an item that is a preorder-order. Asked for full refund! We shall see how good they are at that!

I saw this company advertised on the GB News channel (to be honest their adverts drive me nuts usually, but this one caught my eye). I wanted new lights for our cabin/summer house and thought solar was the way to go.
I saw the Elan multicoloured solar festoon lights.
They came very quickly, I had a slight issue with the postage but an email to Ella and it was sorted straight away.
I charged them for the 3 days as it wasn’t very sunny. They are just what I was looking for, not overly bright but thats fine as I dont want to annoy the neighbours. I will certainly be looking at this company again if I can decide where to put more lights. 😊

Unfortunately, the saga outlined below continues - with this company failing to make contact to arrange the collection scheduled for tomorrow.

I have purchased a good many items from this company over the years. Recently, I purchased 4 sets of solar festoon lights along with other items. 2 of the festoon light sets have stopped working within weeks of receipt. Customer Services has been very slow to deal with the return and replacement of these items. It seems that even when they do get returned I will have to wait whilst investigations as to why they are not working are carried out! I suggested that as soon as they get them back they send out replacements....no response to this!...

The measure of a good company is how they deal with issues when things go wrong...so far, I rest my case and will not be inclined to order again.

We’ve had a few lights from them and they have been great! The last set we had stopped working but Ella immediately sent out a replacement and they are fab! Wonderful customer service

My Chiron Solar Spotlight White / Warm White bought in March 2025 started to fail after about 3 months and has now failed completely. Previously quite happy with this product but will now avoid. I did query with customer services when the problem first occurred but response was not helpful.

I had a small query on an order sent late on Saturday so sent an email seeking clarification. I didn’t expect a reply until the next working day so was pleasantly surprised when I received a response on Sunday morning, from Nicole at Solar Centre, clarifying the position.
Family members had previously recommended Solar Centre for their service and products and I was not disappointed by either when my order was received.
A good company to do business with.

Here is the returns get out clause. I bought 4 post lights, and paid a good price for them this is what you get from a company that claims to be British. Lights are made in China. One of the lights had an intermittent fault. I tapped it with my finger and it lit up suggesting a poor connection fault. I asked to return it for a replacement. they wrote back asking for a short video. How can you send a video if I already fixed it but it could play up again. A good company would have asked to return it and they would inspect it and then send a replacement. But this company have invented there own get out clause. needless to say I would not use this company again. And would not recommend them. you pay premium prices for cheap Chinese knock off products.
