Wish I’d never used this company. They built a granny annexe in my garden. I’m now starting legal proceedings. They don’t reply to emails, don’t answer the phone and do not return to fix issues. Our floor is lifting, there’s a leak & mould in bathroom, the extractor fan is wired to incorrect lights and we have poorly fitted decking. There’s also a fundamental problem with the level of the build which means the patio doors are hard to open & close! We’ve been chasing & emailing for nearly a year. This is a company that is badly run and clearly in financial difficulty with no local builders. Stay well away!

After extensive market research into building a soundproof garden room last year, I came across The SIPS Group, led by the charming and knowledgable Alain Jones. I am very happy to recommend Alain and his national team to anyone considering building a high quality garden building.

I was very particular about the specification for the room, as I wanted to use it as a work office, but also as a music practice room-come-studio and a home cinema. All this being only 4 metres or so from the back of the house and wanting to make sure that as little sound as possible would escape the room and reach the neighbours.

From the outset, Alain was as enthusiastic as me about creating the right room.

We had extensive conversations about materials, look and build, going through several possibilities before settling on the final design. There are several unusual innovations that Alain recommended, including Ground Screws for the foundations, a triple-glazed set of acoustic double patio doors and full rubber roofing to prevent any water whatsoever getting in.

The build itself was carried out through the height of the 1st and 2nd COVID lockdowns, so we had to deal with the frustrations of material delivery delay. This meant that with the best will in the world, the build itself took longer than either of us had planned or hoped.

At every stage, however, Alain kept closely in touch and was happy to allow for last minute changes to elements of the specification as both of us independently discovered alternative materials that would both replace and improve those in the original plans.

Alain also suffered some difficulty with one of the trade teams that were supplied by a third party. He tackled the issues at source and came up with an alternate contractor to complete the job, who worked very well indeed.

After a sustained period where both the weather and lockdown played against us, the project was finally completed. Albeit, that is for the painting of two of the external walls. By now we were heading into Winter and the persistent rain made this aspect impossible.

We agreed that the final invoice for the work would be settled on condition that when the fine weather returned, the painting would be tackled.

Alain once again was as good as his word and even personally came along to make sure a proper job was done.

Although we had one or two niggles throughout the course of the project, Alain has always kept things moving along, even at one stage when he himself was away on holiday.

The final building suits my needs perfectly, albeit were my garden bigger, I would have gone for a larger room!

I love to work in it every day, the dedicated air-conditioner is perfect and the sound-proofing, the most important aspect for me, is remarkable - I play the piano and watch movies into the early hours of the morning, fully confident that I am not annoying a soul.

You should have no compunction about using The SIPS Group and if I were ever to move and build a room again, my first and only call would be to Alain to sort it out for me.

I was a little worried about getting an annexe built but it was very reassuring to have Alain & Joanne go through every detail especially at various stages of the job.

I am delighted to say that I am very impressed with the finished article and cannot praise the team enough for their prompt and professional approach to the work.

Since it has been built I have recommended SIPS to family and friends.

The SIPS Group built a garden office for me in Bristol and I could not be happier. Running through the design phase there was a lot of changes to my initial ideas based on the SIPS Group team's feedback. Everything was configurable and the 3D renders made all the choices feel very "real".

The building process was excellent. The team on site were great and clearly very experienced in building SIPS structures. It was a nice mix of local tradesmen and specialist teams from around the country.

The ground had already been prepared by the team, and with the ground screws and SIPS, the frame was together in a matter of days. Unfortunately, COVID-19 and Brexit caused complications with getting the glazing but the SIPS Group sorted that out as quickly as possible. The electricals team did a great job with the smart lighting and aircon unit; both of which proved problematic on installation.

Plastering, painting, and finalization was quick and well organized and the team were very responsive to ironing out the snagging list until I was 100% happy with everything.

Now that I have my own furniture it, this is the perfect place for home working with plenty of space for a relaxing sofa too. I could not be happier with the quality or the whole process of building it.

After extensive research about garden buildings, we have recently had our garden office built by The Sips Group. From the outset, the team members were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and were keen to understand our needs.

Every detail was considered, and they were happy to suggest options for us. We took some time making a decision but they were not pushy. Without exception, the build team staff were professional, polite, friendly and helpful. A neighbour, unprompted, said how surprised she was at how little noise they made - this was important as we were both working at home throughout the build period.

As with any build project, there were a couple of minor hiccups, but these were resolved immediately and effectively by the team.

We requested some last minute additional work, and this was costed and carried out seamlessly for us. The Sips Group project managed every aspect of the work - from coordinating multiple deliveries, arranging all the trades at appropriate times in the process - and they worked around our work schedules where necessary.

We are absolutely delighted with the end result and would have no hesitation in recommending the Sips Group.
