Great concept, hard to secure placements
I had one successful placement but very little traction on any other roles I have applied for. Kitty the redeployment person is lovely, but even her efforts don’t seem to help. I would still recommend Mom Project with the feedback that I can be difficult to hear back on anything.
ReDeployment Process
Working for the client is not an issue at all. The issue is redeployment. When searching for a new position going through the redeployment process it is not really helpful. I would of thought that The Mom Project redeployment team would be more involved and invested. All I get is an email in which gives me updates I can see on my end.
Still waiting on work
Still waiting on work. I have applied for many positions, and no one get back to me. Bad communication etc.
They don’t supply jobs
I guess I should have known better than to apply to a data entry job paying $30/hr! Clearly that was a scam. My bad. They are doing something else with our information. After my interactions with this person I’m convinced this is not a job agency. Why doesn’t the Mom Project have a company phone number? Cause they got all your info from the application. That’s all they needed. I think that this company among others, needs to be accountable for whatever scams and schemes it’s running on the public.
It was not a scam for me.
I have to start by saying that I had no idea what to expect with The Mom Project when i applied to one of their open positions but I have been pleasantly suprised. I interviewed with the outside company then received multiple follow ups from The Mom Project reminding me to send thank you to the interviewer and basically keeping me posted. I got the offer for the job about 2wks after interviewing. So far so good. Only annoying thing is that I start as a 1099 contract employee so I have to pay taxes on the back end
I applied thinking I am dealing…
I applied thinking I am dealing directly with the hiring studio. I did not know they are not the studio and they will be sued because they are committing a crime.

Stay Away
After dealing with TMP for a few years now, I concur with the other reviewers here (and other sites) and think they are a scam. I suspect like how JP Morgan got tricked by Frank platform (or didn't do proper due diligence), the same applies to The Mom Project. They raise money - $80 million according to the blog & Crunchbase in 2021.
But that hasn't flowed through to the job seekers in terms of platform improvement and recruitment process. It appears that reality is they may tell their investors fibs. They line up talent on the site to bounce up numbers for investors, but there no real job placement, no real employment service and now the staff are obnoxious. I've never heard of anyone being placed by them or recommending them. I too have a solid CV and should at least have been put forward for some interviews. Instead silence and months later, maybe a notification saying the role has closed. Keep clear. There are better providers, even if you just stick with LinkedIn Jobs.
Fake Jobsite for PartTime Jobs
They do not hire at all. They must be using applications for other means (surveys, scams, marketing, etc)
Absolutely no inclusion!
I knew this company would not do what their intended purpose was set to do and if it would work it would not work for African American mothers because the assessments that many of their partner companies utilize do not promote diversity, equity, or disability inclusion. It's unfortunate that many of the roles are removed without any response from the companies that post onto the website. The site isn't any different than some of the other unresponsive career sites.
The Mom Project is a blacklist for women w/children
The Mom Project gathers a list of women expecting, or with children and adds them to a block list for hire. No employer wants to hire a woman with children because she is a liability. Companies don’t like to pay FMLA or accommodate you due to a child’s illness/any needs that will cause an employee to have to leave work early/an extended period of time.
They called the wrong person to congratulate! Ha!
I'm a qualified C-level candidate with 20 years of experience in my field, and a stellar resume. About a month ago, a rep from MP reached out to screen me for an interview, telling me what to expect in the process. The first thing I was expecting was an email from the company to schedule a first interview. This did not happen. About a week after my discussion with the MP rep, she reached back out to tell me how the company I interviewed with thought that I was a great candidate, and that they'd like to schedule another interview. Right - I never even interviewed with the company. She called the WRONG candidate to congratulate them about moving forward. Now, I thought this was actually funny and didn't take personal offense, but how inept do you have to be to call the completely wrong person. Honestly, you deliver news like this to a more fragile person (this process can be stressful), and it could emotionally crush them. Shame on you, MP. After this, I heard NOTHING back from MP, not even an apology.
So really, it's a glorified recruitment agency operating under the veil that it cares about Moms (I'm sure there are plenty of non-parents using this service as well).
I just reached out to them to not just "deactivate" my account, but delete it (there is no option to do this manually myself). We'll see how that unfolds.
JUST DON’T - TOTAL SCAM
JUST DON’T.
Not that I even need to add to this pile of awful reviews and same notices - but it was the same for my mom and me.
I am a solidly qualified candidate who was applying for jobs I could easily obtain. After months, I didn’t even get one call. One email. Nothing. I switched to indeed and had calls coming in within a week.
My mother - a former CCO and VP of a major international company also received no calls or emails for months of applying. She also loved to indeed and had a job paying $200+/hr within a WEEK.
Anyone else want their money back or we get together to sue? I’m sick of this bots for job posts BS and people thinking this is ethical or legal behavior.
applied 13 jobs - zero results
I have applied to 13 jobs through The Mom Project platform. I have not received one bite on my applications. I have over 20 years of writing and research experience and I have only been applying to those types of job postings. Unfortunately, I am finding this site to be a bit fake with no real opportunities out there for an actual mom looking for part time work.
The Mom Project is a scam at best, and poorly run company at worst. Either way, RUN
The Mom Project is a scam at best, and a poorly run corporation/branding/moneymaking vehicle for its founder at worst. So much for empowerment *shrug*
After over a year applying for roles on TMP, I finally landed an interview with a company I was really excited about. I was skeptical, and only believe I got the interview because I knew someone in-house at the company and she gave them the nudge.
TMP reached out and were forthcoming about how everything regarding the role would be managed through them ie arranging the interview, payroll, benefits, etc. I interviewed with the company, sent them a thank you and then....NOTHING. No communication whatsoever, not from the company, not from anyone from TMP, even after multiple follow ups. But they'll still post about how they work with moms to get/keep us in the workforce.
Consider they have over 200K followers on LinkedIn, 62K on IG and almost 3K YouTube subscribers but if you look closely their engagement is comparatively minimal, and where I've previously seen negative comments about whether any one has gotten a job there....those comments have been DELETED or their mods are in overdrive trying to curate an image of a very pro-woman, pro-mom platform and THEY'RE NOT. Do not waste your time and energy. I know I won't ever again.
I created an account
I created an account, posted a position as an employer seeking talent and never heard back from them. After numerous attempts trying to engage with them, no response from them.
They are misrepresenting 100% remote positions
I applied through LinkedIn for a contract position. Either the job poster doesn’t know all the details for the position that their client needs or they are blindly reusing a previous job posting template. This specific job that I applied for wasadvertised as 100% remote (posting lists that information multiple times) when in fact, after the company expressed interested in me, said the position was actually hybrid. I don’t see how this could be an honest mistake and am wondering if this isn’t just a marketing ploy to gain users into their system. I wouldn’t be very trusting of them in the future.
Terrible hiring service
As a recruiter, this was the worst hiring service I've ever used. The service is cobbled together and is so poorly done that it adds hours to the process. They treat moms as commodities and from what I saw don't actually care about supporting women. We had many applicants who were not moms, which was strange. It is significantly more expensive than other services and was just extremely disappointing. We will never use this service again.
