Dr. Syed Wali Khaled is a tourism academic, experiential travel designer, entrepreneur, certified life coach, and published author with over 28 years of professional experience spanning industry and academia. He holds a PhD in Tourism & Hospitality Management from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi — one of India's premier central universities — where he serves as Visiting Faculty in the Faculty of Management Studies, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, having taught 28+ subjects across undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive programmes. He is a Member of Jamia's Institution's Innovation Council (IIC 8.0) and a UGC-certified educator under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (NEP 2020). As Founder of Sterling Experiences/Vacations — a Ministry of Tourism recognised experiential travel company — Dr. Khaled has personally led 60+ tours across India and internationally for global brands including Kuoni, TUI, Intrepid, Exodus, OAT, Gate1, and Peregrine, consistently achieving guest satisfaction ratings of 9.8–10. His expertise spans product development, sales strategy, channel marketing, customer journey design, and experiential circuit creation — from craft trails and wildlife safaris to tribal immersions and spiritual journeys. He is Founder and Director of Incredible Life Academy Pvt. Ltd. (Start-Up India recognised), delivering transformative programmes in entrepreneurship, life skills, tourism business development, and employability. As Elected Chairman of the Rajasthan Chapter of ADTOI (2023) and former General Secretary, he has been a vocal advocate for domestic tourism, inclusive practices, and industry-academia collaboration. He is a Member of the Board of Studies at Poddar Business School, Jaipur, and had been a National Growth Committee Member of ADTOI. This semester with Dr Khalid was indeed…interactive and knowledgeable
This semester with Dr Khalid was indeed insightful and knowledgeable but I feel like the sessions could have been more inclined towards teaching rather than just asking students to do things. To make the classes interactive, sir used to ask us to do various activities related to destination attractions, improvements and limitations, which were fun and knowledgeable but sometimes during classes I used to feel sir should explain more about certain topics by using visual presentation which would have made the session more fun and easy to grasp new information. For example, when Sir was explaining about Kerela, athirapally waterfalls, Munar etc. or some wildlife sanctuaries, he could have shown us videos about that place, especially how a tour guide works on these different destinations. Overall the, session was conducted beautifully but these improvements could have made it much easier to retain information.

Thank you, Zainab — and I appreciate the specificity of your suggestion. You are right that destinations like Athirapally, Munnar, and wildlife sanctuaries come alive with visual context. I want you to know that presentations and visual tools were very much part of the plan for your sessions — however, as you may recall, our University classroom did not have the infrastructure to support them, which was a constraint I worked around as best I could. I also wanted to give your class every opportunity to lead their own presentations, which took time to develop. I take your feedback seriously and carry it forward. Wishing you well.
Legal Framework
Before attending this session, I used to see "Legal laws" merely as a theoretical subject, but after attending these lectures I got an insight about tourism laws are not just "laws" but a whole world of sustainability in itself. The lectures were interesting, insightful and fun to attend, so was the exam. I had a great time dealing with tourism laws and the way they changed my approach towards a subject which I thought is only theory based .
