Appalling Customer Service
I ordered a variety of cheeses, drinks and crackers on the 15th July for what was to be a birthday present for delivery on the 2nd August. The Cheese Lady deducted £194 from my credit card immediately, so of course I expected no hiccoughs. On the 1st August (a full 17 days later) I was sent an email saying that they couldn't deliver the next day because it was a Saturday and they don't deliver "to the Highlands" on a Saturday. There is nothing on the order page that mentions this, besides the delivery address is in the Central Lowlands, not the Highland (I should know, I was brought up just south of the Highland Line). I emailed about this on the 4th August and heard nothing back, so I phoned the shop on the 5th to be told by Gillian that Svetlana Kukharchuk, who owns the business, would phone back. All I did get was a customer services email at 11:48 asking if I would prefer to cancel the order and receive a full refund, which is what I would have done had I known I was getting an email rather than the expected phone call. At 15:25 I got an email saying the order had been sent. I had no idea if the recipient would be in the country or what day it MIGHT arrive. BESIDES I had already arranged another belated birthday present.
In response to the reply to this review (which is the same as their email to me) I wrote:
Dear Ms. Kukharchuk and Ms. Lunam,
This is untrue on at least 3 counts including about my being told that "Svetlana" would contact me, NOT Customer Services. And how dare you claim that I was rude to Gillian personally, who I knew was doing her very best in the face of appalling your customer service and a chaotic website which doesn't explain the basics for precluding conflict. Also your own screenshot mentions the Highlands as being exceptional - I am repeating for the umpteenth time that Scone/Perth is in the Central Lowlands NOT the Highlands, so OF COURSE I would have ignored this, as would anyone else sending parcels outside the Highlands and Islands. You insist on contradicting well known facts about Scotland's geography.
I was astonished to learn that you take customers' money 2.5 weeks before even looking at the order, when the whole point of ordering early is ensure that nothing should go wrong at the last minute. So all your previous orders from me going to East Anglia weren't even read until the day before delivery! You must think I was born yesterday.
A well-run company does not blame its sub-contractors for its own shortcomings.

We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, several points in your review are not accurate.
Our website clearly states on the cart page that Saturday delivery is not available to certain postcodes and advises customers to select earlier delivery dates for special occasions.
The postcode in question is classified by our courier as outside their Saturday delivery network. These restrictions are imposed by the courier, not by us.
Orders are always dispatched the day before the requested delivery date to ensure freshness, regardless of when payment is taken.
Our business is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and your query was addressed promptly on our next working day.
At no point was it promised that the business owner would call you personally; you were advised our customer service team would respond, which they did.
Finally, we must address your conduct during communications with our staff. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive behaviour, and the manner in which our team was spoken to was unacceptable. While we have processed a full refund, we will not be able to serve you in the future.
