I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor communication from the team regarding a white 71-plate Vauxhall Vivaro Elite priced at £30,000 under the Spoticar banner.I initially requested a video walkthrough, which took a frustrating four hours and a prompt to receive. When it finally arrived, it completely glossed over rear bumper damage and a badly scuffed front alloy. It was only after the walkthrough that they asked what I intended to use the vehicle for. I told them directly it was to transport my four young grandchildren. Given the premium £30k price tag, I presented the dealership with a fair, necessary list of 7 points to check, fix, or rectify before purchase—including addressing the cosmetic damage and the timing belt for complete peace of mind.Despite the vehicle being a low-mileage former mobility van, it is right at the age limit where rubber components degrade. Furthermore, low-mileage mobility vehicles spend their lives idling, doing short stop-start trips, and ferrying people back and forth, which puts immense mechanical stress on a timing belt compared to motorway miles.Instead of reviewing my 7 points in good faith, the dealership went radio silent all day, sent a generic email at 18:41 that evening, and called at 15:00 the next day simply to hide behind the generic 10-year/100,000-mile handbook limit. They ignored real-world mechanical wear and the fact that major automotive organizations like the AA and RAC recommend changing belts much sooner based on age and stop-start usage. The salesperson bluntly told me, "We’re not doing that," refusing to address my 7-point list or care about vehicle safety despite knowing young children would be passengers. When I told him their refusal meant the sale was off, he didn't seem to care. If you want a dealer that respects a £30,000 budget, honours premium brand preparation standards, and values customer safety, look elsewhere.
