We’re sorry the session did not meet your expectations.

Suzanne was not absent because she was unwell. She was dealing with a serious family medical situation and had arranged for a member of the team to host a recorded session in her place so that it didn't need to be cancelled.

During the webinar, you referred twice in the live chat to negative Trustpilot reviews about Legal Buddy. Our team made the decision to remove you from the session because the live chat is intended for questions and discussion relevant to the masterclass, and we did not consider it appropriate to be raising such matters during the presentation.

You were not removed simply for asking questions. If you had concerns about Suzanne, Legal Buddy or anything you had read online, you were welcome to raise those with us directly and we would have responded.

We followed up with you afterwards and asked if there was anything that we could help you with.

We are sorry that our handling of your membership left you feeling this way, but there are some important points we would like to clarify.

After your request to change from monthly to annual payments, there was a difference in understanding about whether your monthly payments had been suspended pending a future annual payment. As a result, you did not expect to receive our automated payment follow-up emails.

You subsequently explained that you had a disability. Once we had that information, your account should have been removed from our standard automated credit-control process and reviewed manually. We accept that this did not happen quickly enough, and we have reviewed our internal processes as a result.

We do not accept that Legal Buddy has contempt for disabled people or deliberately harasses members with disabilities.
Once the position was clarified, we ended your monthly subscription and stopped any further attempts to collect the outstanding monthly payments. At your request, we then set up a new annual membership arrangement on the date you requested.

Finally, we can't find any reference to the internet failing, so please do get in touch to let us know more about that so that we can follow up.

Fiona, we are sorry that you have been so unhappy with your experience of Legal Buddy, but there are some important points in your review that we would like to clarify for readers.

You joined Legal Buddy as a Solo member in February 2026 on a 12-month minimum term. The reason for the minimum term is that a large part of our resources are available immediately, but rather than require payment of the corresponding value upfront, we let members choose to pay over 12 months, so that quality legal support is affordable for every small business.

That minimum commitment was expressly acknowledged by you immediately before completing your purchase. Our sales page also set out a full list of the templates, training and other resources included within the membership.

With regard to our templates being "those that you can achieve for free", these are templates that have been drafted with the benefit of Suzanne's 27 years of top level legal experience and includes a library of over 150 templates that we know are hugely valuable to small businesses.

Our training schedule is comprehensive and our members can choose how much they undertake and at what pace they undertake it.

With regard to downgrading to a lower membership level, obviously we don't allow members to do that as they could download everything at the higher level and then pay the lower rate, which obviously wouldn't be fair. We never said anything in the sales process to suggest that a downgrade would be possible.

We therefore do not accept that you were lied to, conned or mis-sold the membership.

You refer to a £2,500 drafting fee. Certain higher-risk documents, including shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements and franchise agreements, are deliberately not provided as Legal Buddy templates because we do not consider it appropriate for small business owners to rely on generic templates for documents of that nature. Suzanne's minimum fee for separate bespoke drafting is £2,500. This is a separate legal service and was not represented as being included within the Legal Buddy membership.

When you first asked to move to a lower membership in May, the reason you gave was that you had expected to use the membership more than you had. You did not at that stage say that you believed the membership had been mis-sold or any other explanation for wanting to move to a lower membership. You subsequently told us in August that you had recently been diagnosed as neurodivergent.
We take accessibility and neurodiversity seriously. We do not accept the suggestion that your neurodivergence was dismissed or that it "didn't matter".

We are sorry that Legal Buddy did not ultimately meet your expectations and wish you well with your businesses.

We’re sorry the Masterclass didn’t meet your expectations.

The session was designed to provide practical guidance on business contracts as well as explain how Legal Buddy can support small businesses with contracts and other legal issues on an ongoing basis.

We do make an offer for Legal Buddy membership during the webinar, but that is only one part of the session, after approximately 90 minutes of free legal training, which the vast majority of participants find extremely valuable.

We appreciate that the balance between training and information about the membership may not have been what you were expecting, and we’ll take that feedback into account when describing future sessions.
