Excellent Experience with Mocean

I had a great experience with Mocean in Germany. I subscribed to a Hyundai Kona, and I was very satisfied with the car throughout the entire contract period. The vehicle was excellent and perfectly met my expectations.

The delivery process went completely smoothly, and the pickup at the end of the contract was just as easy and well organized. Everything was handled professionally and without any complications.

I would especially like to highlight the outstanding support. Mr. Neu was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional at all times. His support really made the whole experience even better.

Overall, I can highly recommend Mocean Auto Abo and would definitely consider using the service again.

Unzuverlässig bei Problemen – keine Lösung trotz mehrfacher Kontaktaufnahme

Ich habe im Rahmen eines Auto-Abos ein neues Fahrzeug (Hyundai IONIQ 5) erhalten, das nach nur 3.000 km aufgrund eines Akku-Defekts in die Werkstatt musste – seither (seit dem 12.04.2025) ist es nicht verfügbar. Statt eines gleichwertigen Ersatzfahrzeugs habe ich von der Werkstatt (!) ein anderes, gebrauchtes Modell erhalten, das in keiner Weise dem vertraglich vereinbarten Standard entspricht.

Trotz mehrfacher schriftlicher Anfragen, gesetzter Fristen und sogar schriftlich angekündigter Rückmeldung hat sich Mocean nicht mehr gemeldet. Es wurde nichts gelöst, keine Rückerstattung angeboten, kein neues Fahrzeug bereitgestellt. Ich zahle weiterhin die volle Monatsrate für eine Leistung, die nicht erbracht wird.

Ich habe nun die Sonderkündigung vorbereitet und werde den Vertrag beenden – leider mit dem Eindruck, dass Mocean bei Problemen völlig überfordert oder desinteressiert ist. Sehr enttäuschend für ein Unternehmen, das sich als digital und kundenorientiert vermarktet.

Unreliable

I very rarely write reviews (and usually only when I have to say something positive). However with Mocean I felt obliged to write something to protect potential customers: I have leased a vehicle (subscription) for 2 years and on a rolling contract (after one year). Out of the blue I got a message demanding to return the vehicle within a few days. This caused me a lot of stress and pressure. They bluntly refused to extent the subscription. I found it incredibly unprofessional that they didn’t have at least the professional courtesy to give enough notice (a month let’s say). Following few unpleasant exchanges by email they admitted that they made a mistake and they extended the period I would have to return the vehicle (1 month). By then I had already found a far more decent company and leased a vehicle. If you want peace of mind, professionalism and reliability stay away. There are far better companies out there.

Car was fine, service was awful.

Whilst the concept was good, and the car was fine, the moment anything goes wrong and you have to get in touch with someone it all goes wrong.

We leased a Hyudai i20 for 2 years - 1 year in we were told that it wasn't possible to insure us anymore. Upon investigation this was purely because of the area we lived in (central london), and as a result if we wanted to keep the car we would have to insure it ourselves. Ultimately we did this as we couldn't source a different car, but it took approximately 2 weeks to get any information from Mocean and it never felt like they were interested in retaining us as a customer.

A year later upon returning the car we have been given a £600 bill for car repair. The car had some minor scratches to wheels etc (as you'd expect from 2 years of use), and we expected some cost, but we got 2 different versions of the cost and when we challenged just got sent an invoice. Ultimately we have paid simply to move on from this company and we have no desire to use them again. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Apalling!!

The one star is for the car a Hyundai Tuscon which is nice car.

Signed up on 18months contract Sept 22 which ended Mar 24 which when all my problems started!!

I had to contact Mocean not them contacting me about new contract and was given such fob off it untrue like other reviews .. I knew were no new cars as website hadn't listed any in what nearly 10 months and by way still hasn't now well over year ad half. I was told though by so called manager (Nathan) who by way was useless and a liar that they were changing insurance provider and be listing new cars so in mean time would give me couple month free use of Tuscon till new insurer and cars become available good of him considering i had given them 18months business !!.. He did say that i needed to insure the car though which i did but what he didnt check was that i was already covered under my originally insurance which covered me till Sept 30 2024 which i found out by the original insurer in August who sent me reminder letter , who said by rights they Mocean should refund me the extra insurance i had taken out and didn't need too! they offered £50 as good will gesture when should been over £200 !

They then after what couple months good will free use of car was told by Nathan so called manager !! that re payments would be introduced but guess what still no new cars but would be happening still!

I agreed to reinstate payments Direct Debit from June 24 big mistake as then from June - Sept guess what as many said on here direct debits weren't taken and found out they outsource this what shambles! So i had to contact them again to find out way to pay yes to pay them!! Eventually months later they sorted a payment link.

I was told in August after all this messing around that guess what car needs to come back end Sept when insurance runs out surprise surprise (dodgy) and no new cars available after saying new insurance company and cars coming online !

Car went back end of Sept immaculate as good as it looked when delivered but month later got email saying rear passenger door had dent and tried to pull fast one and charge me for it without first checking with collection agent and paperwork signed that had no dents ! Again (dodgy!)

Sent emails to Hyundai MD Ashley Andrew (never replied, not interested, missing in action) and tried to speak to someone in Letterhead Hyundai Head office but nothing the just re directed complaints back to Birmingham Hyundai call centre who not interested , no direct numbers to managers and basically don't care.

Moral of story to anyone still got subscription with Mocean exit ASAP as all they will do is terminate your contract once your insurance comes to end or fob you off and lie to you as the subscription business ending but rather than tell you they cowards will keep you dangling they embarrasment to Hyundai Brand!

You will not get a Car Swap or any information as to why they are not available despite being a benefit of your signed agreement.

On paper and initially this subscription model is a great idea. The vehicle service is taken care of at no cost by the local Hyundai dealership.

However, they have had so many problems with the insurance company they used that I was advised that despite driving the vehicle I was not covered since February this year and they ended up providing a Volvo courtesy car for a month while they changed insurers.

I started the subscription in March 2023 and have had no option to replace the vehicle which is part of the benefits of the subscription and despite numerous queries Mocean will not advise why they have had no cars available for swap since November 2023 and will not give any idea of when they will have some.

The signed agreement I have entitles me to change the vehicle every 6 months and yet I have been stuck with the original vehicle and they are not fulfilling their obligation in this regard.

It does seem that Hyundai are hanging on until everyones subscription is up before ending this subscription model which will no doubt be in breach of their subscribers signed agreements as no-one can currently request a replacement vehicle and have had no access to this major part of the agreement.

Such a shame as the vehicles are very good and the subscription model itself a great product and price, yet customer service and the actual follow through of what was initially promised to subscribers is non existent.

Overall good experience but lack of communication has let them down!

I have had a Hyundai Subscription car since April 2023 and overall I've been happy with the service I have been provided with. I initially had a Kona and swapped this after 6 months for an Auto i20 over a 24 month term - that was back in September, however, shortly after that, they have removed all available cars from their website and haven't been replaced since - been at least 4/5 months now. They have also updated their T&C's back in February to say that the maximum subscription length for new plans is now 12 months, however, they've had no cars since. I enquired back in March to find out when the cars were going to be put back on the website to do a car swap and all I've been told is that Hyundai are assessing their subscription model to ensure the best service for customers so have taken the decision to remove the cars from the website whilst they do this... take that as you will... I suspect they are either going to re-launch with massively inflated prices (or going electric cars only) which will then become unaffordable for most people, or will completely withdraw from the UK market. I have also read some horror stories that insurance policies are only valid for 12 months, no good if you took out a 2 year plan like I did, so will see what happens come September when the 1st year is up... They should really be communicating better with their customers about what is happening - if they winding down this service, they need to give us as much notice as possible so we can make arrangements for an alternative service as it could leave a lot of people up the creek without a paddle! The service overall has been fine with what I've experienced, but the communication needs to be better.

Very badly run company ,its almost as…

Very badly run company ,its almost as if its one person running the whole operation, payments not being claimed for months on end resulting in huge arrears building up , despite several phone calls and emails to take payment, , when it came up that the tyres needed replacing , theres no contract with any tyre companies it has to go to a Hyundai dealer for all tyres and servicing etc, on arrival at my local Hyundai dealer, ( dedicated Hyundai dealer) they tried billing me for the tyres, I declined stating its a subscription car through Mocean Hyundai , they responded "sorry Mocean what" at this point I was getting frustrated , im stood in a Hyundai dealership with a car from Hyundai's own subscription business and yet no one in a Hyundai dealership as ever heard of Mocean Hyundai. After an hour of staff making phone calls and emails back and forth to their HQ it was finally sorted. . Then without notice insurance cancelled and car taken back siting insurance cost was too high, even though my driving status- clean licence and address had not changed, very badly run , no organisation or proper business procedures put in place at all,almost as if it was run from someones bedroom.

Just a shambles

Just a shambles, nice cars when they were available but the service is terrible.

The scheme was heavily sold on being able to change your car every 6 months, you pay an expensive premium for this flexibility, there have been no cars available for over 4 months.

Also their payment system just doesn't work, sometimes they will simply not claim the direct debit, you have to chase them and basically beg to be allowed to pay and keep up to date.

Nice idea, bizarre and hilarious attempt at execution. Suspect Hyundai are winding the business up in the UK now

Swap after 6 months? Nope

I was due to start a new job and required a car pretty urgently after a purchase/part ex fell through last minute with an online retailer who I wont mention here.
Anyway, I stumbled across Mocean after doing some shopping about online, but they didn't have what I wanted in stock (an automatic).
I was assured by the sales rep I was speaking to that after 6 months, as per the perks of Mocean, I could swap out for an Auto. So that is what I did.
6 months have been and gone, and Mocean haven't had any available cars on their site for nearly 3 months now.
Customer Services cant seem to give me an answer as to why, and now I'm stuck with a car I didn't actually want in the first place..

Easy car subscription

Had my car for 6 months no issues with the customer service, the only issue would like to switch my car, this is the main reason I chose a subscription service but none have been offered on the website currently.

Do not use I wish I saw the reviews before I joined them

I have looked at all the reviews with 1 and 2 star and everything people state is the truth and is currently happening with me. I have had a mocean subscription for a year now. When I picked the car up they didn't take any payment. Following month no payment taken. I called and they said they would take payment. Luckily I kept the money in the account, payment was taken without telling me 3 month later where they took £1353 without any notice.

Last week 11 Jan 2024 received an email advising me that my insurance can no longer be renewed due to my address being a high risk. Its the same address when I took out the subscription, so how all of a sudden its high risk I would never know. Was given the option to send the car back or source insurance myself, but I would still have to pay the same subscription price, even though I'm getting my own insurance.

2 days later I have received an email stating my contract will be terminated due to arrears. These arrears I never had before. Now they have left me in a position where I would have no car.

As everyone else said they do a hard credit on you and they don't even tell you.

The staff are rude and unhelpful, especially Shannon.

Do not use them

Don't Use Mocean

Be weary of subscribing to this service.

They cut corners/cost by verifying you and doing a "hard credit check" before they check your insurance viability (basically to see if you're worth dealing with).

They're claiming I'm "high-risk" due to having 6 points on my license (their Ts&Cs say 6 points is fine) which will be removed in 6 months. The main driver (my wife) has 9 years NCB, we live on a private road and behind a security gate but because the premium is over £1k they cancel the contract.

So we are now left with a "hard credit check" on my wife so we can't go to another provider, we're stuck.

You cannot speak to a manager, the coordinators (I dealt with 'Courtney') will call themselves managers but they are not and have no authority at all.

If you question their authority, they call you rude and hang up. Their customer service is really bad

As per review by SF on 26th May this company has been an absolute nightmare to deal with.

Despite repeated requests to take payment they wouldn't.

I too got the advance notice of direct debit every month but they constantly failed to take payment leading to me being massively in arrears.

The car has now gone back for none payment.

Joke of a company.

Excellent Service

We've just taken delivery of a nearly new Hyundai Bayon on subscription from Mocean.

I have to say that from start to finish the experience has been first class. The entire process took just under two weeks to complete and there was excellent communication at every step. Every member of staff that I spoke to was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The delivery and handover itself was faultless, with text messages and calls the day before to confirm the time slot. And as smooth as clockwork the car arrived on time. Tom L who handed over the vehicle to us took the time to explain everything and was very friendly and approachable and made sure we were happy with everything.

I would definitely recommend this service to anyone considering taking out a car subscription.

I registered for a car subscription

I registered for a car subscription, but for no apparent reason, they canceled it after a few days citing a "hard credit check," which couldn't be true in any way. They only provided me with limited information regarding the cancellation and haven't responded, even though I am capable of paying for the entire subscription upfront.

So bad I'm returning the car weeks into a two year contract

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are appalling and I totally regret taking out a subscription with them.

They failed to take payment for my subscription when I collected the car despite me offering to pay when I was at the Hyundai dealership in Stratford. So they let me take a car without me paying a penny and two months later they still haven't taken a payment. This is despite my contract saying they would be taking monthly payments with the first one being on the day of collection. Essentially they are putting me in a situation where I could accrue huge debt through no fault of my own.

1. Their I.T department seems to think that they have received payment when they clearly haven't.

2. They point blank to give me a copy of their complaints policy for weeks.

3. They refused to tell me which regulatory body they are accountable to for weeks (its the financial ombudsman for reference.)

4. They said they had put a £30 refund in my account in the first instance of them taking payment on month one, which never arrived.

5. They extended my 24 month contract on their online system by another month without even consulting with me.

6. When the complaint was escalated to Amelia who who works in their executive department she ignored specific aspects of her complaint and tried to say I owed more than £300 than I actually did.

7. Their I.T department tried to say payment hadn't been taken due to an issue with my debit card despite the primary payment method being a direct debit which I'd already sent them a screenshot off to prove it had been set up and they'd sent an email saying they would be taking payment by direct debit.

8. I offered to pay an alternative way for weeks and was told "sorry we don't take payment over the phone. It wasn't until weeks later that I was told I could pay by bank transfer. However they then tried to over charge me by £300!!

8. After getting sick and tired of being ignored by the mocean team, I resulted to contacting Hyundai Stratford to arrange to return the car and liaise with Mocean on my behalf. They then had to cheek to ask if I could call Donna!!!!!! Quite frankly I'm the aggrieved customer, I think Donna should have put in the effort to contact me.

Honestly, please if you value your sanity don't go with Hyundai Mocean. They don't value their customers and I am so concerned that they won't be able to handle keeping the car maintained and road worthy as stated in the contract.

I've had enough. I'm returning the car weeks into what would have been a two year contract and quite frankly they don't give a damm about their customers.

Hyundai's Mocean car subscription…

Hyundai's Mocean car subscription scheme is something new to me and so far, touch wood, excellent service.
We were looking to renew our current car as the lease was due to expire in Dec 2022, but with the lead times for cars at the moment (June) it's crazy and boy have the prices risen. But I spotted Mocean and did some comparisons and it came out very favorably so I registered and then when the suitable car became available on their page, I applied and it was delivered to the house 2 weeks later.
So what is Mocean, well, basically it's a subscription service so you have a single payment and that covers everything apart from the fuel. And it worked out a lot cheaper than leasing a new vehicle.
The down side is that the available vehicles may not quite be what you're looking for, but we got a Tucson Hybrid that was a higher spec than we were originally looking for.
So far, very happy with the service & price, in particular the very helpful Mocean staff.
